  • "I found this restaurant searching for brunch places to host a ladies brunch group I organize. None of us had ever been before and afterwards, we weren't sure we wanted to go anywhere else!! It will be in regular rotation for our group, for sure!! Be sure to try the deviled eggs and devils on horseback. Everyone loved the entree they got, too, and we topped the meal off with the profiteroles (yes!!)."

  • "Reservation was not recognized- name not taken-"sit anywhere". After sitting at a table, we discovered we could not have happy hour offerings unless seated at the bar (~8 feet behind us- no one tending). Wait staff of one struggled to keep up. Chef came around the partition to answer the phone - never used eye contact, never greeted anyone but did pull the server away to work on the computer screen. We ordered appetizers. wine, left. Not fun. Disappointing. Wish them well."

  • "delightful brunch experience last sunday. the service was spot on - friendly, timely, and down to earth. the food was delicious, specifically the pastries (cornbread muffins and gougeres). additionally, we felt the food to be straightforward and it tasted fresh. i like that you could still taste the ingredients, unlike many restaurants where everything on the menu is masked in sauce, etc. -- this was refreshing. we really look forward to returning. all in all, excellent flavors, beautiful space, and thoughtful service."

  • "Our 5pm reservation was superfluous as we were the only diners in the restaurant the entire hour we were there. The ambiance was decent but the chairs and tables were sub-IKEA quality and the table settings were like flea market finds. Our waitress was friendly but had to go to the kitchen several times for menu details and managed to never tell us the soup of the day. The brief menu was further limited by two entrees not being available. The waitress tried to take my wife's plate while she was actively in the process of eating. The waitress then proceeded to snub us because of my wife's reaction. When you are the only table in the restaurant, wait staff actively being inattentive is rather obvious."

  • "Beehive is horribly overpriced for what you get even in Boulder! My wife and I went day after Valentines ( we are long time Boulderites) with Reservations @ 630. All the other restaurants were overflowing on Pearl St we were the only ones there till 7.but thought we Would try something new. A cheese plate was 24$ for 3 pieces of cheese And some sauce. Dinner was small quail and she got some cold scallops For 32$ . The server took them back and had them redone but you can't make a mistake like that for that price. So would not recommend this place to anyone. Too much competition in Boulder too many other choices that are so much better !"

  • "Just off the edge of the hustle bustle touristy part of Pearl Street is a new fantastic restaurant. Open to the streets with a view, yet with a cozy warmth inside engendered by happy staff with unrushed smiles, diners are allowed to talk and eat at their own pace. The food is what one should expect from a Boulder restaurant:high-quality ingredients presented in tummy yummy combinations that look a like food art! Each course, from salad through dessert, complemented by wine or drinks of course, was excellent. Peaking at the chef plating food was also a delight! Go check it out!"

  • "This is a must visit! My husband and I were blown away by every dish we had here. We shared 4 small plates, a salad and split a pasta dish and dessert. Each dish that arrived was better than the last and we ate ourselves silly because it was impossible to stop eating this delicious food. The flavors are impeccable, the seasoning spot on and it's all beautifully prepared. It's a very cute space with a neat little bar area as well. The menu does change frequently, but if the Chef's Salad (grilled romaine, anchovy vinaigrette, breadcrumbs and over easy egg) is on the menu-- GET IT! We also shared a pasta dish that had braised pork shoulder and some local sourced mushrooms-- to DIE FOR! It's all AMAZING!!! Get in there & check it out!"

  • "Our appetizers, Gourgeres, were small, not warm, and tasteless. The salads had little of the featured vegetables, in our case blood oranges and beets. A sliver of orange, and cubed beets (think Mad Greens). The greens were barely dressed and the whole salad felt uncomposed and too full of Whole Foods-style field greens. The quail was dry, overcooked, and seemed to be prepared with little care. The carrots were the best part of the dish. The chicken came plated in an unappealing way, combined with a grain and vegetbles and looking as if it were scooped onto the plate in a heap. The pot de creme was remarkably tiny. And, my espresso was actually cold. Plus, the restaurant is freezing. They would do well to invest in indoor heat lamps."

  • "We dined during the week so you wouldn't expect it to be as busy but it was stark and quiet and very white and and brighter than what you would like in the evening. The front doors do not close well and it was very cold in the restaurant since it was windy that evening. White metal tables and chairs are uncomfortable and we felt cramped in our space - looked like a charming breakfast place but not a dinner place. Overall, for our tastes, it would not be an evening dining place for us. And, it was expensive for that food and experience."

  • "Our group of five all had an exceptional experience. Delicious specialty cocktails (they make their own ginger beer for the Moscow Mules), exceptional cheese plate and a mushroom risotto that was simply divine. Unlike many restaurants in Boulder where you have to shout to be heard over the din, we were all able to hear each other and engage in one lovely table conversation. First rate experience!"

  • "Visiting Boulder over Christmas, we discovered very few restaurants open on Christmas Eve. Beehive was open so we took a chance based on availability, and not much else. We were pleasantly surprised to discover a warm, friendly atmosphere, decked with greens, and a vaguely Swedish spare, clean aesthetic. The fixed price Christmas Eve menu gave some great choices, the wine list was decent, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. A great welcome to Boulder."

  • "With all the great write ups I was so excited to be going to a new place that had great reviews. It was pricey for what you get, items were delivered to our table in wierd stages (our salad was brought with our dinner items.......). My girlfriend order the steak and it was overcooked and very tough. Cute place, but food is disappointing, I will be on the hunt for something better."

  • "Went for Boulder Bites. Apps and dessert were excellent. Vegetarian main was very bland, but at least warm. Overall, very expensive for what it is even if food is decent. This was true even for the reduced price Boulder Bites menu. For example, added $4 for a dessert that should have been maybe $7 to begin with. Maybe go for happy hour and apps. Would not recommend for dinner."

  • "Love the Beehive - the food, service and wine list are really great. The food is fresh and tastes healthy and not buttery or fatty like other restaurants. They have a great wine list and you can tell that they have taken the time to put together delicious food - a lot of thought has gone into everything. The profiteroles were delicious and the best I have ever eaten! My only little complaint is that it was cold inside the restaurant and when we asked about that they said it was due to the door being right there and opening up into the restaurant. If there was some way to turn the heat up or put a curtain up near the doors in the Winter that would be fabulous. However, that isn't a problem and we love Beehive! love it!"

  • "Beehive to me is one of those places you always wonder why isn't it packed with a line out the door. The food is amazing the service is great and I'm always delighted to go there. Their menu is a little on the small side but their selection is still perfect for any food palette. They have a nice selection of cheeses to choose from and their happy hour menu is really nice too. If you're looking for an added value before 6:30 sit at the bar for happy hour drinks specials"

  • "We went here on what happened to be the first night of First Bite Boulder. The place was very lively, and the noise level was perhaps a little too high for our group -- it was hard to have a conversation. The food was good. We had scallops with beans. It was good, maybe not spectacular, but the scallops were really nicely done. We also had a nice potted salmon appetizer, the gourgères, and something else. It was a pleasant space, and fits right into the Boulder food scene. The food is definitely on the casual French side. If you like to cook from Jacques Pépin, the dishes will feel familiar."

  • "Went for Sunday Brunch. Limited menu, small portions, expensive and a little too French pretentious for my taste. Food just OK. Took awhile to get our food as well. Will never go here again. Had a table reservation but when we got there many were available but until some coaxing they did not want to sit us inside. The restaurant never filled up anyway so I did not understand what the original issue was except for not wanting to take a table of more than 3 and break it up. Many other places to try in Boulder so we will not be going back."

  • "First off, our server did not speak loud enough to be understood most of the time, and she was unenthusiastic to say the least. My companion had the salmon, which she enjoyed. I had the Daily Vegetables and Grains (which had no grains...Quinoa is a seed). Whatever greens they included were tasty, but so tough that they could barely be chewed, the quinoa was bland, the whole thing look like a platter of the sides from other meat dishes, as opposed to something crafted as a stand alone dinner for a vegetarian. We sat at the outdoor tables, which, when all occupied do not allow for comfortable seating. I had to move my chair to the side until the people behind us finished and left. my cocktail, which was excellent, the rest, was just so so."

  • "I met a friend for lunch on a bright sunny afternoon. After walking past blocks of bustling restaurants, I was a bit concerned that this place was not very busy....a sparse two or three tables out of 20. No matter, the setting was lovely and inviting and I was able to sit at the bar and work on my laptop until my friend arrived without feeling rushed or crowded. Dexter, the server prepared a nice lemonade spritzer for me and I had the BLT with egg. The food was great and service was delightful. It's a bit pricey for lunch, but on par with the Kitchen and SALT without the crowds. I like finding these little gems."

  • "There was a variety of "Must Haves" (their words, not mine) on the menu but not much variety in the dinner selections (with very few selections vegetarians). The food we ordered was unusual and good, but quite a bit more than we expected to spend. We ordered three salads, a sandwich and 3 drinks for $112. The ambience and decor was nice, perhaps befitting of a less expensive place. Service was good. Chilled, unfiltered tap water was brought in clear glass bottles, Luckily, Boulder's tap water tastes ok."

  • "Beehive is hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to in quite some time. Our waiter, Kevin, was knowledgeable and very willing to help. He knew about the main menu as well as the drink menu. The scallops were devine and the Salmon was also excellent. We also split quite a few appetizers, each of them excellent. I have to give a special thank you to Dexter, the bartender. His inventive drinks (watermelon mojito among others) really made the night special. For dessert, we asked for a coffee with something "special" in it and Dexter did not dissapoint. With home made whipped cream and Cafe Corretto, the drink was the best post-dinner coffee drink I've ever had. I highly recommend this spot which is just off of Pearl Street proper."

  • "Beehive was recommended to us as a sure thing for brunch. I was a little taken aback by the carb-light menu, which was missing the all-too-common standards of French toast, waffles, griddle cakes and so on. In fact, the owner/chef heard me mention it and came over to offer to make an order of French toast. I went for the pork store sandwich instead, my companion the egg sandwich: sides of profiteroles and gourgeres (ultra light puff pastries) rounded out the meal. Our orders were delicious, satisfying and very interesting. I may never be satisfied with French toast again! When in Boulder, be sure to visit this gem."
