From the time we entered the restaurant, until the time we left, we felt part of something special. The darkwood interior, and the subdued lighting reminded us of a time gone by. We were warmly greeted at the door, and escorted to a comfortable and spacious booth. Our server greeted us cheerfully and stayed in touch with us throughout our meal to make sure our needs were met. There was no dropoff in the attention paid to us after our food was delivered. The food was exceptional in both presentation and quality. We felt that the price of our dinner was very reasonable in view of our great dining experience with its abundance of quality food and sensational service. We will definitely return, and will recommend the restaurant to others.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary and were given a table in the corner, hidden from everyone. We ordered soup and my husband said that the french onion broth tasted like meat drippings-and it was delicious! The steaks that we ordered were cooked to perfection and passed along the 60 years of seasoning from the grill. It was the best steak I've had in Charlotte and tops even Flemmings, Capital Grill and Ruth Chris. They even surprised us with a complimentary dessert and wished us a happy anniversary. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for a relaxed atmosphere and a good meal. It is not fancy but was packed for dinner- so people actually come for the food and good company.

Waited 15 minutes for a waitress. I don't blame her for our experience at all, she was just overwhelmed with tables that night. 4 people in our group, 2 ordered filet & lobster, 2 ordered NY Strips. Entrees were absolutely beautiful! But, not one thing served to us was hot. There is nothing less appealing than cutting into a big, beautiful lobster tail and finding it's not even hot, but worse, the butter to dip it in is room temp. On top of that, the lobsters were undercooked and had no flavor whatsoever. Filets were excellent but should have been hot or at least warm. If we had gotten the chance to send the lobster and butter back, we would have, but the waitress never came back to the table until everyone was done. Very disappointed.

The exterior is shabby, the interior very dated and the most uncomfortable booths I've encountered. Steak was heavily salted, mushrooms (they recommend) were cooked in far too much wine/sherry, almost pickled. Very good salad though

Great setting for a romantic night out or dining with a group. Service and food was very good. Salmon was excellent. Seeing the walls covered with scores of B&W photos of celebrities from the 50's and 60's brings back memories from the past. Definitely a unique dining experience!

The atmosphere was intimate and seductive; the decor, reminiscent of a bygone era without seeming stale; it captures the feeling that so many new establishments try to emulate, but succeeds because of its genuine history and tradition. The food was second to none--I don't know, off hand, another place nearby that serves escargot. Anyone visiting Charlotte should make this place a must stop and locals should cherish this gem that has been around for over a half century. As a lifelong resident, I can't believe its taken me this long to finally try it out.

We were recommended to come based on the quality of the steaks. The appetizer was delicious, but the steaks were amazing! This is not Ruth's Chris, Morton's, or Capital Grill, but the steaks were as good or better. Ours (both the large filet and a New York strip) were cooked perfectly, and not over seasoned. Please give Beef and Bottle a try!!

Everyone raves about the steaks..... But..... You need good " sides"..... And they have them! Wonderful onion rings, great potatoes ( all kinds) , ahhh the bread... And of course the salad ... And homemade dressings..yum!! To complete the experience.... Great service in an " old school " steakhouse ... What's not to love?

I found the steak okay but nothing to rave about. Something you would get at Golden Corrall. Chewy... Have had some delicious steaks at some 5 star restaurants and by paying a extra 15 dollars is worth the price. Better yet, buy the steak yourself, marinate, spice it up the way you like it and grill it. Sometimes that's even better and a lot cheaper. Great staff though.

Beef 'N Bottle is our GO TO place for a steak dinner. No better place for beef in town! We have always been so pleased with our food, the service and our total experience there. This night our server was delightful. Very helpful without hovering. Good wine choices. Love the cheese and crackers before the meal. Love the fresh salad - build your own at the table. The sides are well prepared, tasty and more than enough to share. And, may I repeat, the BEST steaks in town. If you want great food, you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant deserves a 5 Star rating if any other restaurant in the country does. We found this restaurant in 2013 on a recommendation from a hotel close by and it was everything they said and then some. Living in Arizona and traveling to Charlotte once/twice a year, this is the first place we head for dinner. Food,Service and Ambience is OUTSTANDING. We flew from Arizona to Charlotte for a family vacation at Myrtle Beach and we visited the restaurant the first night and the last night before returning to Arizona. Can not wait until the next time we travel to Charlotte

Great place! Very "old school" with very dark, red lighting decor. It takes a few minuets for your eyes to adjust.... Great service and outstanding food. Another old school feature are the cheese and crackers.... They are plain jane and basic but it adds to the traditional feel and the 1950/1960 roots. It's a great place to escape the plethora of chain restaurants around here. Highly recommend!

My 1st time visit for our anniversary and didn't know you had to reserve a booth when making reservations. We both ordered ribeyes which were tough and my wife couldn't eat hers. The server noticed and apologized that 1 out of 20 steaks are tough and gave her a 50% discount. This place is extremely noisy and difficult to have any type conversation. Maybe the booths are quieter?

It was our anniversary and my husband wanted to take me somewhere special. We drove an hour and a half from Kershaw County , nothing like I remembered. We had an 8 0'clock reservation (and it was closer to 845 when we were seated) (lots of available tables, but they seated three couples before us that came in after us. Great waitress. I ordered the lobster tail ($45). The salad was the best part of the meal. The steak was a nice size but overcooked for medium rare and the lobster tail was good. The drawn butter was cold and tasted terrible. I agreed everything was good not wanting to embarrass my husband which ate only a hamburger steak ($14) but was determined I was going to order what I actually ordered. You asked so I told you!

My wife and l have lived in Charlotte for almost 20 years and have been meaning to try Beef & Bottle. We finally went for our anniversary. Despite our loud table right next to the kitchen, we will definitely be going back. Salads and sides are included with most of the entrees & extra sides are only $5. We each had a filet and they were as perfectly cooked and flavorful as you could hope for in any of the well known, high end steak houses. Our waitress brought me my A1 as requested but with the (polite) demand that I also try the steak without it. I'm glad she suggested that, because the steak was fabulous. The place did get quite loud ("energetic" as noted above) but the value and fantastic food more than make up for any of that.

The steaks are good, in this remarkable time warp rabbit warren of odd, small rooms. The only thing changed since they opened in 1958 is the prices, which approximate those of the big name steakhouses. We sat in the Doris Day booth, which we're told is the most often requested, perhaps as it's mid-room, away from the front and kitchen doors. If you want to experience the kind of place where Doris might have eaten, along with big family and work-related groups, go there. Next time I feel the need for beef, I'll probably opt for one of the big chains, which offer a more upscale feel.

You won't experience an upscale atmosphere at Beef & Bottle. It's not for the froufrou or faint of heart. You go for the rich delicious food and personal attentive service. After you visit once, you'll know you have found a hidden treasure. You can't beat the steak, and the crab dip appetizer was worth every calorie. The wine list is not overwhelming but has enough choices for the expert vino connoisseur or everyday wino. The people are great, and personable. The food is served in due time no matter how busy they are. They got this down! Go.
