  • "food a bit disappointing. rating: ehhhh. especially for the price!"

  • "Best place to eat in the region. Great service too. The BVI is the go to place to take your favorite person without the kids of course. This is my new best restaurant, thank you BVI"

  • "I had requested a round table but it wasn't available. The service was unusually slow, but we had plenty to talk about so it wasn't a problem. We have dined here many times, and this the first time service was slow."

  • "The ambiance ,food, wine and service were amazing. We truly enjoyed our dining experience! We will definitely return."

  • "We love the BVI! We've brought different people there over the years and every single person raved about the food. My favorite is the lamb but it's hard to know when it will be on the menu (my one and only complaint). My husband can not make up his mind what he loves the best, salmon or chicken. This last visit I had the duck, Oo la la can I say more?"

  • "My wife and I made reservations for a Saturday night. we requested the Porch. It is nice and bright and has many windows so you can see outdoors. It was a beautiful night and after dinner we asked if we could finish our drinks outside. they were having a wedding going on there that night also. So we could hear music playing while we finished our drinks. The waiter,Tony came and brought our check and also brought us some goodies and a piece of chocolate with Happy Anniversary written on it. Nice touch. The food was amazing, and the service outstanding. the manager was also around making sure things were going smooth. Everyone who works there makes you feel special and goes out of their way for you.Great place to go for a special occasion."

  • "Good atmosphere, good drinks, good food, expensive for a typical night out."

  • "There really isn't a place comparable to the old-reliable BVI within reasonable driving distance from us. When we want to entertain a guest, or celebrate a milestone passed, or just give ourselves a treat, it's either the BVI, 23 minutes away, or head in toward Boston, 45 to 60 minutes' drive -- and sometimes deal with annoying parking complications -- for anything better. BVI does offer more than one ambiance. The above ratings are for their small, quiet "Keeping Room." Larger rooms tend to be noisier, and there's outdoor seating, and a tavern as well, which are much more casual for dress and for ambiance."

  • "is my absolutely favorite place for breakfast, lunch or dinner even in the tavern. If you want to take some one special to a very special place the BVI in Bedford NH is the place to go. For the ladies, there is an awesome boutique called "Smittens" that is a must shop after your dining experience."

  • "We received Anthony as our waiter and we were less than pleased about our visit. He kept coughing everytime he was at our table, and he dripped water all over the menu when pouring the water, to top everything off he dropped a knife with butter on my shirt and I now have a grease stain that will not come out. Anthony did not even seem apologetic about it. This is the second time we have had him as a waiter and have been displeased both times. As a result, we will not be returning and our daughter has decided not to have her wedding there."

  • "I took my wife here to celebrate a very special birthday. It was perfect. The staff is extremely attentive. The food is fabuluous. And, the wine list was superb. I would recommend BVI highly for any special occasion."

  • "Need a date night date chose BVI Need a world class meal chose BVI Want a NH atmosphere chose BVI Demand exceptional service BVI has you covered. 2 days later I am still smiling about my experience at Bedford Village Inn. For all you Gordon Ramsay fans. Ben Knack BVIs head chef (Hells Kitchen contestant) is the real deal. 10/10! Went to try his food and will be back again. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience."

  • "We had a 12 Noon reservation for lunch and were seated promptly at that time. There was one waiter and a waiter-in-training serving in the main dining room which was about half full. We ordered our lunch from the special Restaurant Week menu. It took about one-half hour for our salads to come out. Notwithstanding the initial delay, everything moved very smoothly after that. The food was exceptional as it usually is at this restaurant."

  • "The service was outstanding, the food impeccable. My friend and I went for NH restaurant week and the portions were full size and it was amazing. "

  • "We went during Restarant Week. The menu was very good, as was the food. We enjoyed everything we chose and it was cooked to perfection. The only drawback was the service. We were seated promptly, but were not given Restaurant Week menus. After about 15 minutes, we were served water. Our waiter showed up 5 minutes later and we asked for the menu. He disappeared for another 10 minutes before taking our order. Finally, he brought some bread to the table. We waited a considerable time for the appetizer and even longer for the main course. Finally, the manager came over and asked how things were. We complained about the service, and things improved after that. However, I expect better service from a restaurant of this caliber."

  • "Amuse bouche was a nice touch. the mixed berry salad was pleasant but not noteworthy. Salmon was good, had an adequate sear, but could have benefited from more seasoning. A bowl of four types of bread was offered, it was a good idea, but not even the french bread had crisp crust). The creme brulee was very bland, bordering on tasteless. The service was attentive and pleasant. The Host was very cordial and welcoming."

  • "Went with a friend on a Friday night drove up from Boston. Was in jeans with a jacket and she insisted we were put in the back room due to my attire. There for restaurant week the food was very good service seemed either to slow at times and other times to ready to have us leave. I do think had I been in business attire we would have had a difference experience. In Boston wearing nice jeans and a jacket you can go almost anywhere I guess in So New Hampshire they want you to look the part. The manager stopped by and was very nice. "

  • "Everything about the Bedford Village Inn is outstanding. The food is first rate. Service is excellent. Ambience is beautful inside and out every time of the year. Just a wonderful place to go."

  • "We have been to the BVI three times in the past six months. This time we were seated in a very old part of the building and our table was in a high traffic area. For the few tables in our room the food was brought in past us and into a small room in the back then brought out again to be served. That was a bit distracting. The service was excellent. My rib eye steak was a bit overcooked and the waiter and manager promptly offered to bring another but that was just not something that I wanted to do, however they did provide dessert at no charge which was more than acceptable!"

  • "We celebrated my wife's birthday with a wonderful dinner at BVI. The service was outstanding and the staff went out of their way to greet us, wish my wife a Happy Birthday. Even a nice touch was a birthday card on the table. My wife appreciates details like that. And the food was wonderful. We often dine at BVI (mostly in The Tavern) and we are never disappointed."

  • "We requested a quiet table and we got it. The waiter, Fouad, was above and beyond attentive. Hopefully, he gets to serve us again. The food was excellent and delivery was impecable. It was a PERFECT night and got us off on our next stage of life on the right foot. We are going to highly recommend this restaurant to all of our friends. Thank you."

  • "For an appetizer, the crab cakes were delicious. They were served with pickled onion, which was a really nice combination. My boyfriend said the short rib appetizer was possibly the best meat he'd ever eaten. He also loved the oxtail gnocchi. My salmon was good but nothing spectacular. We had the chocolate box for dessert, which was more than enough for two to share, and it was delicious, but actually the little chocolate balls they brought out at the end would have been enough."

  • "I have lived in Southern New Hampshire for over 20 years and only visited the BVI for functions but will return frequently. The food was incredible, the service outstanding, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing dinner."

  • "The BVI is our "go to" restaurant. We always know that we can depend on having a great dining experience there. The Tavern is perfect for a more casual meal, to meet friends for lunch, or for an impromptu get together for dinner. The Inn offers more fine dining with a menu that is just varied enough to please everyone. Their wine list is by far the best in the state. Try their local artisanal cheese board!! Delicious and a great way to try the area's cheeses. A restored antique inn with rooms individually decorated provide the ambience. Always pure pleasure--pure pleasure for all your senses!!"

  • "Great option for affordable fine dining. The food is always outstanding and the portions are huge for fine dining. The service is hit or miss; the staff is trained well but service often comes off as awkward and rehearsed. I wish the menu changed more often or they had specials - it would make us come back more often. We love going to the tavern because they're constantly tweaking the menu."

  • "We sat by the fireplace staff fantastic. Wonderful dinner. Don't however go to Tavern at lunch, Brett couldn't smile even when we were the only people at the bar."

  • "When it's a special occasion my wife and I have always had the best food and the best service at the Bedford Village in Restaurant. We enjoyed a belated Valentines Day dinner there by the fire in a quiet little room. Dinner was spectacular. If we are out for a quick bite, we enjoy the tavern or corks. Great bar menu and good prices."

  • "We were given a table in the corner of the conservatory room. It was still light when we arrived and the outdoors was a winter wonderland. As it darkened the little white lights on the trees showed up more and it was lovely and romantic. We were having Valentine's Day late, to miss the crowds, so this was just perfect. Our waiter was attentive but not overly so. The food was tasty, well presented, cooked to our specifications (steak) and timed nicely. We wish we could afford to eat here more often, but the occasional splurge is nice!"

  • "many restaurants have great food, but, to have great food and great waiters and staff, makes Bedford Village Inn and Restaurant stand above the rest. Thank you all for a very enjoyable evening and we will be back. Luis is a treasure."

  • "On our arrival our waiter announced there were no specials and what was on the menu was what they had to offer. He did not return until much later after we had decided for ourselves what we were going to order. We would have liked some info on the interesting sounding entrees to make up our minds, but he was no where to be found. Our Quail appetizer was good and tasty but VERY over cooked with the meat welded to the wing bones. The salad was good. The fillet (ordered rare) was med. rare and was swimming in wine sauce with soggy onion rings . The atmosphere was pleasant and romantic, but the price of our meal ($150ish) warranted much better service. I don't recommend this restaurant. With fine dining I expect more than just a expensive meal."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a quiet dinner this past Saturday at the Bedford Village Inn. Although parking was a bit of a challenge, the restaurant was lovely and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was pleasant and accommodating and we will definitely make a return visit in the future."
