Have been to Becco many times before, as the daily homemade pasta deal is hard to beat. Add a lengthy list of $25 bottles of wine and you've got one of he best dates in the city. Service wasn't too hot this time around, but I'll chalk it up to them having an off night. Will continue to return to and recommend Becco to others.

We were recommended Becco by an intern from Live! Kelly & Michael. The food was excellent and it was a great atmosphere but the service was not very good. We sat with food in our faces for a while. It was my friends birthday, but we had no time for dessert because we had a show to get to. The place is super cute and all the workers were nice, but it was hard to get their attention.

Prix Fixe pasta special was incredible. Three different pastas, one full of shrimp plus salad for 23.95. Cannot beat that in New York. Also, they just finished renovations and it looks great. Definitely will return

The ambiance was very nice, tables were comfortably spaced and we were not rushed at all. Our party of 4 arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. The waiter was extremely helpful - we did not feel intimidated by the menu and he even offered to choose a bottle of wine for us off of the $25 bottle menu and it was very good. We all ordered the Daily pasta special which was 3 pastas dishes / all you can eat with salad or antipasta. I will definitely recommend it and next time I am in the city will return.

I invited a couple of newly wed friends so we could celebrate their union in a favorite restaurant ... I requested a table in the room with the skylight and precisely at the appointed time, I was escorted to the table to await arrival of my guests. They had never been to Becco's before and were so very surprised to be amidst all the energy of the place. They loved the simplicity of the food selection and the fact that there was a very large reasonable wine list ... It was also a treat for them to glimpse chef Billy Gallagher in the kitchen ... I have been to Becco many times and it has never failed to impress -- terrific, consistent food, excellent service and very courteous staff. Thank you!

We arrive at 5:20 for a 6 pm reservation & wanted to have a drink at the bar. The staff at the Maître d stand approached us 3 times telling us our table was ready. At 10 minutes to 6 we were told to settle our bar bill & the maître d insisted we be seated before our reservation time. There were 3 of us and we were seated at a table for 2 with an extra chair for the 3rd person. There was barely enough room on the table for our plates. Overall the food was good but we will not return because of the manner in which we were treated. Lattanzi next door is far superior in regards to how they treat their guests.

If you need a delicious pre- or post-theater meal, and don't want to break the bank, this would be a great place to consider. The pris fixe 3 pasta meal is extraordinary for less than $25, as is the extensive $25 wine list (they've got more expensive, but why--these wines are great. Add in top notch service and you've got a true theater district value.

5 of us booked for 6:30pm to celebrate an engagement. At 7pm we were finally shown to a tiny jammed-in table - small for 3 and impossible for 5. We informed the manager and were finally seated at 7:20pm. Our server asked whether we were "trying to make a show" and we answered truthfully: no. From then on the service level was "awful". We had to ask repeatedly before anyone took our order, before appetizers came, etc. Our main courses did not appear until 9pm and then only after we asked several times. Several parties who arrived after us were gone before our mains arrived. The last straw: the chef's family came and were served promptly while we were ignored. Becco turned our joyous occasion into an unpleasant expensive ordeal.

Yes, the tables are very close together and yes, it is quite noisy, but the food is very good and worth the "trouble". This was my wife's and my first visit to Becco, having been planning on visiting for some time. After dining at two of Lydia's other restaurants - Felidia and Del Posto - we were expecting a good experience and Becco delivered. It must be said though that Becco is neither Felidia or Del Posto;it is not nearly as upscale and not nearly as costly. It is more casual and more approachable for the average diner. The food is very good - we both had the Sinfonia di Pasta, the house special - and were pleased. The service was excellent; our server was knowledgeable, attentive and very personable. Will definitely visit again.

It's close by my office so I stop in occasionally and grab the symphony of pasta which is very staid, bland and uninspired. Most of the pastas are boxed and not fresh made. This would have been fine 10 years ago - but the bar has been raised and they haven't kept up. The sauces are very neutral which may be targeted to the tourists which make up a lot of the customers. It's not bad - it's just not a remarkable place.
