  • "Great food and service. It's hopping busy but they get you in and out w/o rushing. We had the salmon and the swordfish. Excellent! Very good prompt and attentive server."

  • "One of our favorite places to dine... friendly atmosphere, great service and wonderful food!"

  • "We took my mom here for lunch on July 23 pre theater. We were seated quickly with reservations and then had the most delicious bread/foccacia/bean dip/olives we have ever had. Our lovely waiter filled our bread basket twice then gave us some to take home! You cannot imagine how happy this made my mother! My mom is a huge fan of Lydia and watches her all the time and cooks like her. My mom was so impressed with the food and service- we all were. The lunch special with the chef pastas is the way to go-we had other things from the menu as well but the anti pasta was a heavenly mix of different veggies and fish and the pasta was plentiful and cooked well. The cannoli was the best we have ever had for dessert-whole pistachios and cream!"

  • "This was a great meal for all of us, and it was served with no rush, but we were able to enjoy our meal, make our show and the meal took about 90 minutes. Servers are young and kind and very knowledgeable."

  • "The service at Becco's was fantastic. The food ranged from inspired to mediocre. The all-you-can eat pasta was missing flavor. However, the short rib special was dynamite! I really enjoyed my veal piccata and the antipasta misto was tremendously delicious. On the other hand, the restaurant was crammed with too many tables, difficult to move around, and so loud you could barely hear the person next you speaking. Add in the squealing children and thinking became a problem. So over all, the noise level cancelled out the quality of the food. For midtown Manhattan, the meals were inexpensive, but it was obvious that to make ends meet, more tables needed to be turned over. A difficult balance for a restaurant to achieve."

  • "Located on W.46th street restaurant row , Becco provides a good option for a pre-theater dinner. The food is good and plentiful for a fair price."

  • "Becco is a lovely, professional, well-run, and well-staffed restaurant. The wine was great; the food was fantastic (there were plenty of vegetarian and fish options) and the atmosphere was quiet and private. Certainly, I will be recommending Becco to anyone who visits NYC."

  • "I loved the $25.00 bottles of wine. What a great idea. The Ceasar salad was good, but the bread was really hard and I expected oil and vinegar to dip the bread. The Osso Bucco was outstanding!!"

  • "Took my 11 year old son there after show & we both loved it. Not super fancy but service was great & food very yummy! Actually liked my son's lemon chicken even better than my pasta special. Definitely recommend for an before theater or after theater dinner"

  • "A group of 4 of us girls went to Becco after seeing Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. It was a great way to end a wonderful day! The service at Becco, I could rave about for days. It was just tremendous. The food was delicious and exciting."

  • "We have been to Becco several times when visiting our daughter in NYC. Always a good meal, always great wait staff. Prices for lunch are reasonable and the $25 bottles of wine are an added bonus. The Chef's three pasta special is hard to resist! We love sitting in the back room under the skylight. Within walking distance of Penn Station up 9th Ave. or a short hop on the subway. Reservations suggested."

  • "This was our first time at Becco and we really enjoyed it. I am a big fan of Lidia and decided to try chef's Gallagher's three daily pasta, along with the ceasar salad and antipasto. We were not disappointed, everything was delicious. My daughter tried the lemon chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The service was excellent! Good overall ambiance! Would definitely return!"

  • "I stumbled upon Becco as I was walking through the neighborhood last month and when friends came into town I knew this was the place I wanted to take them. For a bargain you can have an unlimited order 3 types of fresh home made pasta dishes. The meal is served with a caesar salad or antipasti dish, both are great. The pasta dishes are served in small portions brought directly to your table by waiters who make their way around the restaurant. Besides fresh pasta, there are other delicious choices on the menu and there is an extensive wine list, with an entire page dedicated to $25 bottles. You won't be disappointed here."

  • "The food was great and so were the portions ! We added the pasta trio to our entree and everything was fantastic ! The wine specials make it a meal for the price that you can't beat !! Will definitely go again. The service was also very good - the only drawback I could see is if you go early - the place would be packed. We went after the theatre so we didn't have an issue with the crowd."

  • "Always a go to for date night in New York. Open late, usually fairly easy to get reservations off of open table and delicious pasta! The portions are hearty so be sure that you are hungry before ordering the three pasta special and don't fill up too much on appetizers. The last time I went the pasta special consisted of spicy marinara spaghetti with shrimp, pesto pasta with asparagus, and mushroom ravioli. All were great. The waiter also recommended a wine that paired with the meal perfectly and didn't overpower any of the flavors. Would recommend to anyone as a date night, family meal, or dinner after/before a show."

  • "Wonderful place in NYC. The food was delicious. Will return."

  • "We had reservations (an absolute must as it seems to be always busy) for 7:30 on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly at a table at the back of the restaurant with a skylight above us. The tables are very close together so you end up chatting with your neighbours which adds to the atmosphere. It was very crowded and noisy but in a fun way. We had the three pasta special which was good, not the best Italian food I've had but for $22.95 that also includes your caesar salad or antipasti, it is definitely good value. Their wine list is extensive and all bottles are $25. Our server was a little disinterested but we weren't in a hurray so we were fine with that. We will definitely go back on our next visit."

  • "Used to love Becco, but now it is a place for either tourists or people on a budget who want unlimited portions of bland, gloppy pasta. Waiters zip by and slap the food onto your plate. Many other theater options. Wouldn't bother returning"

  • "This was a gift from my children for my birthday. The online gift certificate was so easy. I just love all of Lidia's restaurants, but this was one of our favorites. We were hoping that Lidia was going to be there, but no such luck. That's one of my dreams...to meet her one day at her restaurant. BTW...the parking is very convenient. There's a lot 1 block down."

  • "Sat in the room you walk into. It was so noisy. Like glasses breaking, people yelling. We had a family birthday Celebration. So very disappointed. Food was good. Kind of odd only pasta sampling on menu. If u r not a fish eater then veal chop or one chicken dish. There is an upstairs I walked up there and it was quieter, carpeted"

  • "I love the fresh, unlimited pasta and the wine list of $25 bottles. I've taken friends, my mom, and even closed the place on a date. The service is great and I love sitting in the bar area. Without reservations, the best time to go is just before the Broadway plays start because it will empty out!"

  • "Amazing veal Milanese, phenomenal Italian centric wine list, service with a smile. Tables are beyond too close only issue. Would absolutely go back and the pasta trio is spectacular and for $9 added onto an entree how can you beat it?"

  • "I'm never disappointed with Becco and visit ever time I'm in Manhattan. The service and food can't be beat! This is a class act and a must if you're in the city; it just keeps getting better and better!!!"

  • "My daughter and I dined here before a show. The food was very good--lemon chicken and pulled pork, plus mista salad. The wine also was excellent. The atmosphere, though, left a lot to be desired. While we made reservations through Open Table weeks in advance, and confirmed that we would be there when they called a couple days in advance to confirm, we were seated in the bar area. This was a disappointment, especially as my daughter is under age. Still, a good restaurant, and next time I'll ask for more appropriate seating."

  • "Great rustic Sicilian Italian fare. Not a great spot for children who are only used to basic Italian food- but got them to try swiss chard ravolis and actually like them! Need to have more pasta items on menu. Loved the wine list of every bottle $25!"

  • "We didn't wait long for our table. Although the tables against the wall were packed in tight(typical nyc restaurants) the ambience was still nice. The food was good and we were served quickly since they knew we were going to see a play. I would definetely return, its one of the nicer restaurants on that strip."

  • "As we had a delightful lunch at Becco, when I received my bill, I noticed that I was charged $17 for an antipasto of fresh mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes. I did mention this to Alanna our waitress, as I thought to myself, an antipasto costs more than the lasagna at $14. Well Alanna reassured me it was because it was fresh mozzarella. So I took it in good faith that she knew what she was talking about, not until I came home and received your survey did I go on line to see that the antipasto dish was indeed $12 and not $17."

  • " I enjoyed this restaurant. Our server did a wonderful job of telling us the specials and trying to accommodate my mother's diabetic diet. I thought the bread basket was filled well with different breads and bread sticks. I loved my heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad. My only complaint was the entree. I didn't like it paired atop spinach spaetzle. And the price was quite high for the simplicity of this dish. I did however think the tomato sauce that accompanied it was delicious! We ate so much that we didn't make it to the dessert menu."

  • "What a huge disappointment. Just returned from NYC. Becco was on our list because we love Lydia and have watched her for years on PBS and we have traveled to Italy extensively. This place was so overrated. We passed through the lovely front dining room, only to be sandwiched in the back wine/cave room. A large hole in the wall was patched with stucco. Floors and interior looked dated, worn and slightly dirty. Bathroom was the same, grimy. Food and menu were uninspiring, pasta was bland, no flavor, etc. The only redeeming note on the entire evening was the $25 wine selection. Really, don't waste your time here, instead go to Olive Garden for better food, etc. Lydia we are so sad....."

  • "The food is excellent, fresh ingredients skillfully combined. Very good service. It's very vibrant and loud. Great for groups. The three pastas is an excellent value as is the $25 wine list. I always look forward to eating at Becco"
