  • "I loved the relaxed atmosphere of Becco. The service was excellent. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and we all said they were the best meatballs we've ever had a restaurant. Would definitely go back to try more dishes."

  • "It's all about the food, as it should be. Aromas, textures, colors, flavours, Everything fresh. Memorable and affordable."

  • "Really a very nice place. We got there shortly before Noon on a Sunday so had to wait in the bar until seating began. The bar was very nice and cozy, drinks were great. The menu had a great selection so we ordered meatballs, bass, and a couple of orders of the 3-selection pasta - all were fantastic! Dessert was cheesecake, panne cotta, and gelato. Again, all were fantastic! I would go back tomorrow."

  • "The food and service was fantastic. And I have never seen such a selection of Italian wines. Loved it all and the on line reservation was great too."

  • "We order the steak which was very tough, properly seasoned, but over cooked. The potatoes tasted old and the pasta was overrated and cold. Our server never came back to ask how everything tastes until the end if the meal. Dessert was offered but he never brought my beverage at the beginning (diet coke). Extremely pricy considering..."

  • "I've been going to Becco for several years. The food is always outstanding!"

  • "I was very excited to try this restaurant! Love Italian food and the reviews were great. I could only get a 4:00 pm reservation. At 4:00 we were all escorted to our seats (many, many, many four pm reservations) the tables are so close you are basically dining with 8 other people. We were a party of 2. Out server was great and very polite and efficient. But, I felt like I was part of an assembly line...not at an intimate Italian dinner. We both chose the pasta special and like 2 of the 3 choices. The prices are good and the waiter does not rush you, but it is not an atmosphere that encourages you to linger."

  • "The food and service were terrific and a good value for New York's Resturaunt Row. The wine, nothing special ordered, was almost twice the price of the food and unfortunately we didn't ask the price, leaving us with the feeling we were taken. Disappointed with that approach to raise the total cost. Don't be fooled, ask!"

  • "Becco always pleases us. We have been lunching here before the theater for years. It is always delicious. The food and service are great. Price is very reasonable."

  • "My husband and I enjoy the food at Becco's. The only downside Is the unbelievable noise level and the fact that you're almost touching tables with the other diners. But, we always come back ;)"

  • "I have eaten in many of the Batali/Bastianich restaurants and have always had a great experience but this was an exception. Of course I know that a pre theater dinner on Restaurant Row is going to be crowded and hurried but not like this. I felt like I was on a conveyer belt. The waiter recited the specials so fast I couldn't tell when one dish ended and the next began. We had to ask him to repeat it SLOWLY. Then they brought us our appetizers at the same time as our main course. We asked them to take away the appetizers. The waiter whisked it away instead of offering it to us for free. The food was just OK. This restaurant is far below the standards of the other restaurants in this group. I will not be back."

  • "The food was very good and well prepared with just the right amount of oil and seasonings. Service was excellent with no feeling that we were being rushed. Our only c/o was as we were at a table for 2, tables of 2 diners were placed so close together that it felt like we were dining with the people on either side forcing us to listen to their conversation whether you wanted to hear it or not. Tables of 4 or more diners had more privacy with the tables spaced more appropriately."

  • "The food was outstanding, the service was great. We weren't rushed as the waiter took into account our timeline before our show. We will definitely be coming back."

  • "This theater district gem did not disappoint us. The food was delicious and the $25 wine list was unexpected. We can't wait to go back."
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "Because this excellent, very popular restaurant is in the theatre district they do a great job of getting you out in time for your show - and turning tables over. However, if you've built enough time into your schedule to have a relaxing meal pre-theatre please tell them. Otherwise, before you even put down your menu you'll have your appetizer on the table. After telling them at 6:15 that our show wasn't til 8:00 and we weren't in a hurry, the salads arrived in, literally, 2 minutes. We sent them back. They were very nice about it and the rest of the meal was well-paced."

  • "My friend and I came to Becco for lunch and it was amazing. Warm & friendly staff. The pasta trip was delicious as always."
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "Become has really gone down hill. The whole experience was terrible. The antipasto was stale and the pasta was a plate of flavorless glop."
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "Crowded place so did not expect good food or service but both were great. The meatballs were amazing as was the mushroom ravioli and roasted Brussel sprouts. Very big portions and good value. The waiter was very nice and they got us out in time for the show. The tables are too crowded and close together. Would go back. Very good meal ."

  • "My wife and I went to Becco for lunch before a play, and it was AMAZING. We had the Sinfonia di Paste, Becco's Prix-Fixe lunch special, with three types of fresh made pasta dishes. We had Wild mushroom ravioli, spaghetti with a tomato basil sauce, and rigatoni with the most INCREDIBLE bolognese sauce. Seriously...if I could eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be Chef Gallagher's bolognese sauce. The wait staff was amazing as well, so attentive! Real professionals. We will make it a point to be back every single time we are in the Hells Kitchen area."

  • "Maybe the food and service not good because they were busy"

  • "BECCO is consistently great. The service and quick and the waiters are spot on. The food is amazing. We have been going to BECCO for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. If I had to call them out on anything it would be that on occasion we have had to wait 20 - 30 minutes for a table when we had reservations but it is always worth the wait."

  • "Becco is my favorite Italian restaurant in Manhattan. Been there many times and it's the best way to finish off a day of theatre and dinner. Never disappointed! Brought friends with me this time who have never been to the restaurant before but by the time we paid the check, I had a convert. Keep up the good work!"

  • "We went pre theatre, arrived early and we're seated immediately. The wait staff was attentive and we we're served in plenty of time so we didn't feel rushed. There we're several birthday celebrations in the room - lots of happy diners. Great value for the price and location."

  • "As always Becco delivers the best meal and home maid pasta !"

  • "3 pastas and a salad for apx $20 can't be beat. Also, great $25 wine list. The only downfall was having a 7:30 reservation and weren't seated until 8. Bar was very crowded so not much space for 30 minutes of waiting. Food, wine and service were worth the wait though."

  • "Becco has been a top favorite for years, every trip as good as the last, and this time was no different. We had yet another excellent experience. The food was spectacular as usual. One of my all time favorite meals is the three pasta special and it was amazing as always. My husband loved his chicken paillard as well as the broken potatoes he ordered on the side. Crowded, (reservations definitely recommended) but so worth it. Great service too. We will continue to visit Becco during our trips into the city!"

  • "If you like it loud and crowded, this place is for you. We had a pre-theatre reservation at 6:15pm on a Sat night and were seated promptly. The food was very good, though not outstanding. We were in the front room, which might have been much (did I say much?) louder than the other rooms, and that made it a challenge to have a conversation. No way could this be called 'romantic'."

  • "Our group of eight enjoyed delicious blood-orange martinis at the bar. We were seated on time and we ordered main courses of pan-seared salmon, grilled swordfish, pan-seared calf's liver and "Sarma" which was the favorite of our group. Cabbage stuffed with beef, pork & veal braised in tomato sauce dusted with Grana Padano & served on a bed of crispy spinach spaetzle was exquisite. I hope it is still on the menu since I would order it the next time. We shared two delicious desserts of panna cotta and the decadent Torte di Zabaglione e Cioccolato which is a chocolate mousse cake with Amarena cherries & chocolate sauce which was everyone's favorite. Just writing this makes me want to return soon!"

  • "Great for pre-theatre. Noise level a bit high, tables a bit crowded. Excellent food: preparation, plating, seasonings, fresh ingredients, bread to dream about and out in time for the show!"

  • "Becco was light and bright and served delicious food! For an upscale NYC Restaurant it was surprisingly affordable, great service. Sooooooo happy our party of four went after a matinee! Highly recommend! I cannot wait to go back."

  • "Food was very good but too much like an assembly line. Every entree comes with a caesar salad - you have no choice - and the only pastas available are the three that the chef prepares that night and you have to order all three. Pasta also comes with caesar salad - no choice. Tables too close together. Waiters and other diners were constantly bumping into our chairs during our meal. Very loud and too crowded. Service initially poor - our waiter forgot about us - but then it picked up and they were very good about getting us out in time to get to the theater."

  • "Just what you want in a pre-theater experience: good food served well and convenient location. I splurged on the veal chop and it was worth every penny."

  • "You can't go wrong at Becco! The food is fantastic, the staff is always friendly and welcoming and they have an extensive wine list (most bottles are only $25 each!!) Get the pasta special - it's amazing! Three types of (unlimited) homemade pasta and an appetizer for only $23.99!! It's the best deal in the city. Make your reservation today - you will not be disappointed!! Enjoy!"

  • "Celebrated my daughter's 21st bday here before the theater! The bartenders, Caesar and Albert were incredible! Loved the $25 bottle of wines to choose from instead of the $25 glass. The service was prompt, entertaining, and knowledgeable re: the menu and all that NYC has to offer. The pasta tasting menu was delicious and fresh. I would definitely return. Not only romantic, but I would take my children as well. Enjoy! We surely did."
