  • " It's a small place near the theater district so a great place to dine if you are seeing a play. We had reservations for 5:00 with theater reservations at 7:00. They were very considerate of our timeline and we were out of there on time. The food was great and the price was very reasonable for the amount/quality. I would suggest making reservation because when we left there was a very long line to get in. "

  • "Very noisy and crowded. Tables a bit small dishes hang over the edge. Food was excellent this time but last trip not so good. It feels like a hit or miss place. Reservations made but still had to wait and went at 5PM."

  • "Great food as always but being seated to a table of 8 with 6 young children does not a peaceful night out make! Food and service are always fantastic but being crammed in elbow to elbow was no fun at all. The noise level was excessive and my chair and elbows were bumped repeatedly by staff and patrons trying to squeeze past. "

  • "Food was fabulous as always!! Read a few iffy reviews on website - not sure why - have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Staff has always been pleasant and friendly and service great. Highly recommend!!"

  • "The daily selection of pasta is a deal, and the food is delicious. My fav is the pasta filled with ricotta in a red sauce. Yummy.."

  • "Booked this because of others review. $25/bottle wine list was excellent. 3 unlimited pasta was top notch and creative. Fabulous attentive service. I will eat here again."

  • "Good food, attentive and friendly wait staff, and good value. Becco never disappoints. The special lunch menu includes three pasta dishes (refilled as you wish) along with either a Caesar salad or antipasto. A perfect spot to dine before going to a matinee. There is also a decent wine list for $25 bottle. Ask for a table on the first floor under a skylight."

  • "Likely one of the best dinners I have had in NYC. Excellent value, wonderful attentive service, great food. All in all a superb evening. We will be back. (My friend bought three of the signed cookbooks)."

  • "the place is "known" for endless pasta. we aren't bottomless eaters so we didn't try it. maybe we should have!"

  • "Always live the never ending past. Choices always delicious. Seating is very tight but service is outstanding. Love this place before or after the theater. "

  • "We dined here at 730pm on a tuesday and the place was packed, so thankfully our reservations got us seated promptly. The service was mostly professional and prompt, however my meal was supposed to include pasta refills none was offered to me and the table next to us refilled multiple times. My meal was a seafood antipasti followed by the trio of pasta tastings. The seafood antipasti was about a tablespoon of potato salad with 5 small cooked pieces of octopus and a chunk of cooked fish all very flavorful, served with a small variety of pickled and roasted vegetables- probably my favorite part of the antipasti. My trio of unlimited (limited) pastas were spinach ravioli, penne w/tomato and basil, and fettucini Bolognese. I'd go back."

  • "We had a fantastic meal here before seeing a Broadway show. The service was impeccable and the food was a real treat. As a fan of watching Lydia on TV, this was a tremendous experience to actually taste the creations! Open Table made the experience even better, as we sailed past dozens of waiting customers..."

  • "A lovely restaurant with a fresh, varied menu. A delicious assortment of breads, olives, and spreads was provided while we waited for our meal. Outdoor seating is minimal and meant for only 1 to 2 diners, but the indoors is charming with ample seating upstairs and downstairs. The wait staff was attentive and conscientious of show times. Service was prompt and employees were knowledgeable of the menu - could easily offer suggestions. Reasonable prices given the quality and portion sizes of the meals. Homemade pasta was amazing! "

  • "While the food was rather good and comforting, like a really good Italian home meal, the same can't be said for the tables for 2 people. They are very small. Your always trying to arrange things to fit them on the table. I like a little breathing room when I eat. Unfortunately due to Manhattan rents, space is at a premium."

  • "Short ribs with sweet potato mash and Swiss chard were delicious. The whole fish dish was also delicious."

  • "I loved the relaxed atmosphere of Becco. The service was excellent. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and we all said they were the best meatballs we've ever had a restaurant. Would definitely go back to try more dishes."

  • "Every time I'm in NYC I make it a point to eat at Becco. The food is always extraordinary and their $25 wine bottle list is great!"

  • "Some of the most friendliest workers (waitress and bartender) that I've ever experienced in NY. Menu was explained fully and the food arrived not to soon and not to late. I had the striped bass and was nothing but pleased. And how can you beat the $25 bottle wine selection! We sat next to a great couple from Connecticut and you wouldn't believe the size of the double cut pork chop! Over all GREAT experience and would highly recommend."

  • "Really a very nice place. We got there shortly before Noon on a Sunday so had to wait in the bar until seating began. The bar was very nice and cozy, drinks were great. The menu had a great selection so we ordered meatballs, bass, and a couple of orders of the 3-selection pasta - all were fantastic! Dessert was cheesecake, panne cotta, and gelato. Again, all were fantastic! I would go back tomorrow."

  • "The food and service was fantastic. And I have never seen such a selection of Italian wines. Loved it all and the on line reservation was great too."

  • "We order the steak which was very tough, properly seasoned, but over cooked. The potatoes tasted old and the pasta was overrated and cold. Our server never came back to ask how everything tastes until the end if the meal. Dessert was offered but he never brought my beverage at the beginning (diet coke). Extremely pricy considering..."

  • "We came here for a friend's birthday dinner with a large group. For being as well-rated as they are, they were quite accommodating of changes to our numbers and reservation time. I had expected to have a hard time with this since a part of our group were undecided up until last minute, so it was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the grilled veal chop -- done medium by the server's suggestion -- absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Pretty impressive wine list for a $25/bottle flat rate. Great dessert too :) especially the cheesecake; I could not get enough of it! All in all, a great dining experience. I would highly recommend going here if you've never been."

  • "I was very excited to try this restaurant! Love Italian food and the reviews were great. I could only get a 4:00 pm reservation. At 4:00 we were all escorted to our seats (many, many, many four pm reservations) the tables are so close you are basically dining with 8 other people. We were a party of 2. Out server was great and very polite and efficient. But, I felt like I was part of an assembly line...not at an intimate Italian dinner. We both chose the pasta special and like 2 of the 3 choices. The prices are good and the waiter does not rush you, but it is not an atmosphere that encourages you to linger."

  • "The food and service were terrific and a good value for New York's Resturaunt Row. The wine, nothing special ordered, was almost twice the price of the food and unfortunately we didn't ask the price, leaving us with the feeling we were taken. Disappointed with that approach to raise the total cost. Don't be fooled, ask!"

  • "My husband and I enjoy the food at Becco's. The only downside Is the unbelievable noise level and the fact that you're almost touching tables with the other diners. But, we always come back ;)"

  • "I have eaten in many of the Batali/Bastianich restaurants and have always had a great experience but this was an exception. Of course I know that a pre theater dinner on Restaurant Row is going to be crowded and hurried but not like this. I felt like I was on a conveyer belt. The waiter recited the specials so fast I couldn't tell when one dish ended and the next began. We had to ask him to repeat it SLOWLY. Then they brought us our appetizers at the same time as our main course. We asked them to take away the appetizers. The waiter whisked it away instead of offering it to us for free. The food was just OK. This restaurant is far below the standards of the other restaurants in this group. I will not be back."

  • "The food was very good and well prepared with just the right amount of oil and seasonings. Service was excellent with no feeling that we were being rushed. Our only c/o was as we were at a table for 2, tables of 2 diners were placed so close together that it felt like we were dining with the people on either side forcing us to listen to their conversation whether you wanted to hear it or not. Tables of 4 or more diners had more privacy with the tables spaced more appropriately."
