I've had good/fair experiences with this restaurant but this time (Easter dinner) the service was very slow and drinks not refilled without asking several times. The food is good but a little bland and that may be that this restaurant serves a large clientele of senior citizens. There is never a lot of choices when trying to find a french restaurant and this one is good especially for the ambiance and nice decor but the food is only slightly above average.

This is our very favorite pace to take guests as it is a restaurant where you can have a conversation. There are several rooms of different sizes, so it can appeal to a variety of group sizes. The food is always reliably very good. We recommend it highly.

Great food and very consistent. Wonderful "rooms' where you can have a conversation. If you arrive and are waiting just walk back into the restaurant so they will know you are there. Also I have seen reviews about the staff size. They do have a small staff but why are you in a hurry when you are out for dinner. When our food arrives it is always the right temp and delicious. My wife and I have gone several times and have not been disappointed. If you enjoy avocados try the avocado appetizer it is absolutely delicious. We have been with Open Table for several years but don't write many reviews but Beausejour is a favorite that brings us from San Mateo several times a year. Take your date, you will actually be able to have a conversation.

Nice room(s) as there are about three dining areas, which offers solitude and quiet when desired, and the food is very good (although not what it was several years back). The wine list needs some attention, as it now offers a few Safeway items, with a couple of high end exceptios. But overall a lovely place for lunch or dinner. And value for money, had to beat.

Food was not as good as past visits over the years. Escargots and Creme Caramel were great, but salad and main dishes for my husband and myself were not too exciting. I had prawns with a fruit sauce which didn't mix well with the prawns or side veggies. The grapefruit and avocado salad was mostly all lettuce (although it was good Romaine) with one chunk of graprefruit and two small slices of avocado, and a dressing that was on the bland side. I love this restaurant for its ambiance and good service, and it has been a long established local spot which we've always depended on for an enjoyable meal. I hope this recent experience was just an off night.

The other table was so close to ours in that small room that all of their conversations projected onto our table, and visa-versa. It was busy/full for a Thursday lunch and service slightly slow.

Food great and we love the atmosphere with the three different rooms but the service was marginal. Maybe they were understaffed that evening. They certainly hustled, but we were there 30 minutes before we even saw a menu. And although we bought wine it never came so we cancelled it. And this was on a weeknight.
