A word from Beaumarchais
Beaumarchais is a modern French brasserie in New York's trendy Meatpacking District. The Chef serves up re-imagined French classics such as foie gras with champagne grapes, veal-stuffed olives, and fresh organic salmon while suave bartenders create perfectly balanced bespoke cocktails. Beaumarchais is as famous for it's fine French cuisine and extensive wine list as it is for it's energetic, DJ-fuel atmosphere. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "his time they gave us a mini table, took to long to have the food ready, and the eggs were overcooked"

  • "This restaurant came recommended. We were a group of 7, looking for a nice dining experience. We felt VERY rushed. The waiter was arrogant and stuffy. The food was boring. Once we finished eating he never returned to see if we wanted anymore drinks (60.00$ for the cheapest bottle of wine). He recommend a $50.00 "cake" to share for dessert. He brought out ice cream, whip cream, marshmallows and some other random garbage in it. I think he did it more as a joke amongst his coworkers but we didn't find it that funny. Terrible experience, first time ever writing a review but it was so bad I wanted to warn the next group. "

  • "Attracts a 20's-30s crowd looking for action. Food ok, service rushed, music ridiculously loud (which made it ok that they rushed us out)"

  • "Wednesdays is a burlesque themed night...and they put in a great show! The gnocchi at this restaurant was pretty amazing. We arrived around 9 PM for dinner, but later he got the more lively and energetic. Overall a great place!"

  • "It was our second time there and I don't think i would ever go back. Our reservation was at 9.45pm and we were'nt seated til 10.50! Whats the point of having resos!! Also felt they kept lying as to why our table wasnt ready! For that much of a wait the food really isn't worth it. Also its so packed that you can't even enjoy a drink as you wait for your table!! Too many other great places to go in NY to waste time waiting at Beauty&Essex!!!"

  • "I've been going out in Meatpacking for years and I had always overlooked Beaumarchais; not sure why. I decided to go there with one of my girlfriends last Thurs night and O M G... what an experience!! We arrived at 8:15ish and the place was quiet, but nice. By 9pm, the music got louder and older diners exited and younger entered and the place was popping by 10pm with bottle service theatrics galore with outrageous Ghostbusters, Star Wars and Superman shows, belly dancers, etc. So much fun!!! The DJ was fab. Everyone was dancing on tables and chairs and having a crazy good time. And the food was AMAZING! I'll never be able to enjoy gnocchi again anywhere else. The scallops were incredible as was the chocolate lava cake. YOU MUST GO!! :)"

  • "I loved Beau Marchais. The food was delicious. I went with a living social deal, but I was given the utmost service, and generous portions. The ambiance is great, the later you stay Beau Marchais turns into a party scene. Great music. I loved it will definitely return and recommend Beau Marchais to friends."

  • "Words can not describe what an amazing time I had. I will be reliving this wonderful event for the rest of my life. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful place to celebrate my birthday. There was a candy theme in the restaurant, which meant drinks were candy themes (all with lollipop garnishes) and every table had candy on them. The dj in the restaurant was amazing, the food was outstanding (we went for brunch), just the whole environment was wonderful. Everyone was having fun and dancing on tables, and drinking and just have an amazing time. It's impossible to just sit in your chair and not enjoy the amazing ambience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Will definitely be coming back soon. It was truly a perfect birthday!"

  • "Arrived early, had a great evening catching up with old friends. Service was exceptional, and both food and wine was great. This is my 3rd time here and would go again. The later you arrive the more vibrant the scene."

  • "This place was incredible. As we arrived at around 8pm, we found the mood to be mellow and very classy. Over the course of our meal and conversation we realized that the restaurant's scene was slowly, but surely, morphing into a lively lounge atmosphere. The experience was unforgettable and I would highly recommend this place to anyone willing to spend a few dollars."

  • "French country meets 80's disco. Hipster maitre d in no rush to show us to our table (we were all there). Ear-piercing disco music made conversation hard. Food was fresh and service attentive. Overpriced relative to quality. You pay for the sound system."

  • "Excelnt food and ambisnce. Wendesday Bourlesque show"

  • "Food and service are not the point here. A deafening bass line rattles the seat, and the service is perfunctory. You feel as they are set up for a party, waiting for the guests to arrive.... The food was ok, sort of standard bistro selections, though not a whole lot of them. We felt out of place--'are we the only New Yorkers to have ventured in here?' A DJ stood at his Mac, mixing tunes, I suppose so we could dance whe awaiting our steak frites."

  • "The food was good, service was ok but we were rushed out rather rudely by the bouncer who pretty much was letting us know that he had better things to be doing. I've been here once before and left around 10pm which is fairly early. This time around, I guess due to few customers, they chose to close down earlier than usual. Disappointed as well in the music selection by the DJ. Wasn't ecclectic enough."

  • "The food was outstanding. The lasagna sheets with boar were perfect. Everything was great. The DJ-led music was louder than my wife and I would have liked, though; we enjoyed the music, but we would have had a better time had the music been turned down a notch or three so we could talk easily instead of having to raise our voices and lean in to hear each other."

  • "Food was GREAT, delicious and innovative but the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other and could barely order....maybe it was because it was New Years Day, but for that alone it would be hard to go back and what a shame as it was one of the best brunch meals I have had in a long time.....the truffle fries, baked eggs and lamb burger were ALL a big hit!"
    Dined on 1/1/2014
  • "I guess it depends on wha tyou want - i went here because a friend really wanted to, but its very loud the service is mediocre - the food wa sokay - the truffle fries were the bomb and gnocchi - but overpriced - drinks were $18, what i expected and if you're 20 and looking for the overpriced spring break experience, this is for you."

  • "Food was not as good as it was used to. Service wasn't good. She wanted us out of there so she bring the check with out us asking. Overall bad experience."
    Dined on 12/22/2013
  • "First the good - the atmosphere is very nice just as you'd expect from a trendy Meatpacking restaurant. The bartender was very prompt and nice. The hostess and waitresses are nice. Their foie gras is definitely worth having. The best thing on their menu is their steak. Now for the real deal. It's overpriced for what it really isn't. Wine tasted very light and bland. The others who work there are obnoxious. Then it got loud! We chose to go to a restaurant, not a club. After 10 we couldnt even have a conversation because we couldnt hear each other. If that's what we wanted to do we'd go to VIP, not to Beaumarchais. It was ridiculous. The food was just meh - the lamb sausage pasta dish was too heavily smothered in the sauce. Just so you know."

  • "Sunday brunch is extremely loud, the appetizers were great but the main course was cold and served on wood plates..."
    Dined on 12/8/2013
  • "Had brunch here for a lot of money. 4 dollars for a cup of coffee which is ok but it was another 4 for the second cup. The host was abrupt and unfriendly. The management upon complaining about the fact that they do not refill coffee was dismissive with a bad attitude. These people are gleefully laughing at the tourists who gladly hand over their money. As another patron reviewed this place is on the restaurant deathwatch as it should be."

  • "Visited Beaumarchais for a late Friday dinner. Trendy setting with a packed room. Found the wine selection to be hugely overpriced and of mediocre quality (Pinot at the bar lacked any body - so thin that it tasted watered down). Server was attentive and nice but kitchen was horrendously slow (almost an hour between order and main course). The food was average for the most part. Only bright spot were the truffle fries. Worst of all, the DJ controlled house music started at thundering and just got louder. It was virtually impossible to hear my friends speaking from 18 inches away. Bring earplugs. If you are looking for a dance club experience (loud, overpriced, mediocre), this is your spot. Big on hype and flash, quality...meh."

  • "This has meatpacking written all over it. Trendy music, staff who are models, dim lighting and slightly overpriced food. If you are looking for a scene then include Beaumarchais on your list."

  • "Make a brunch reservation after 2:00pm on the weekends, and then it becomes like a nightclub after brunch. It is fun, with club music. I would go back the food was good too.."

  • "place must go ....great atmosphere ....excellent food + good looking girls"

  • "Horrible server, was more interested in picking up the bartender than helping us. Restaurant was EMPTY and they sat us one table away from the couple making out and sharing dessert like their honeymoon just started. Every time the server poured wine he clanked it on the wine glasses so hard I thought they may chip. The busmen and the expediters were EXCELLENT, as was the hostess. The DJ was perfect and paid more attention to our table than the server. He waved him down 3 or 4 times. This place should/will be on Eater's Deathwatch. I give it a year if all of the servers are like ours."

  • "This place is nowhere near special enough for the real estate it takes up. Blah food, limited brunch menu, and very inattentive service."
    Dined on 10/27/2013
  • "The food was good service was laso good, but a little disappointed they did not have the live DJ like they say on their website nothing really energetic with confetti that you see in their pictures."
    Dined on 10/19/2013
  • "Tuna tar tar was horrible. No flavor on a cucumber! Crispy chicken was not great. Burger came with no bun. The only 3 things that were good was the crab cakes which were 4 small pieces, truffle fries and passion fruit cheesecake. Other than that- wouldn't go again."
    Dined on 10/19/2013
  • "Had dinner and drinks and both the food and service was top shelf. The music was hip and definitely a place for groups. I've been here a few times and the food and service is always consistently amazing."

  • "The duck breast was outstanding. The vibe was in true New York, meat packing form... Towards the end of the night you will likely be compelled to dance on your chairs to the DJs vibes."
