  • "Beaujolais's new location is absolutely beautiful. Lots of light and a beautiful view of the river. They have a bar now and some delightful new cocktails. The food, as always, was spectacular. Everything we had was flawless. The weight staff was attentive and all around the service was great. I look forward to my next meal at Beaujolais!"

  • "Went here to celebrate our anniversary. Very intimate and charming space with nice view of the leafy neighborhood. The restaurant was full, but our reservations were quickly honored. Very attentive service. The food was fresh and locally sourced as much as possible. My wife's entree (vegetable pastry) was very fresh and flavorful). My rabbit was perfectly cooked and very tender and sweet; however, the creme sauce was a little watery. Nice wines and range of pricing. Highly recommend for an outing."

  • "The dining room is open and yet cozy, giving it a great feel. The wine list is easily the most comprehensive French list in Reno. We started with a Pommard premier cru, and opted for the cold asparagus (extremely tender, nice brightness), and the mussels (delicate, complex blend of flavors) which was an excellent combo. For dinner, sweetbreads (excellent), also we ordered the duck confit, but got the other duck dish on the menu (sweet, not much depth). The wait staff pretty much disappeared after we asked about the error. Dessert was profiteroles (excellent) and creme brulee (burnt, sent back). The wait staff is so-so at best, which is a shame as this could have been a great birthday dinner. The dinner and dessert were taken off."

  • "Frites-steak was tasty, but the frites (French fries) were soggy evidently from being kept warm after cooking instead of being served quickly."

  • "Being from out of town, we wanted to take our daughter out to s special restaurant away from the casinos. I had read the positive reviews on line about Beaujolais Bistro, and so chose it for the occasion. We were so glad we did; the dining experience was perfect. The menu selections were so excellent, the setting quaint, and the service was spot on. We'll be coming back next time we are in Reno."

  • "Food was very good. James was a good and personable host and sommelier, but overwhelmed by recent success and staff shortages, so service was slow. Pretty noisy; could use some rugs, wall hangings.to absorb noise."

  • "This was our first visit to the new location and what a pleasant surprise it was! They have done a wonderful job with the remodel. We were greeted with a warm welcome and served quickly at the bar while waiting for our table. Then, the best surprise of the evening, we were offered the opportunity to sit in the cellar, which I didn't even know existed! What a treat that was - wonderful ambiance (you can't beat dining surrounded by wonderful wines). Our server was great and the food was fantastic. Definitely not somewhere we'll dine every time we're in town...our bank accounts couldn't handle it. But this may be our new "go-to" spot for special occasions."

  • "We enjoyed the new location and the decor that has been creatively designed. Our dinners were outstanding. We enjoyed the Quail entrée and Scallop entrée. The quail dish was traditionally prepared and the quail was cooked perfectly. The scallop dish was truly creative with many subtle flavors provided by the variety of vegetables. We enjoyed the special artichoke appetizer which was excellent and a very tasty desert. The new location has a cheerfully warm ambience, while the dishes demonstrate, as always, Chef Bill's creativity."

  • "We celebrated my daughter's birthday at this lovely restaurant. It had been a while since we were at Beaujolais and I'm sure that we'll be back much sooner this time. This new location is so nice, it does feel like an old place. Iti's much more hip and inviting. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. Looking forward to going back soon."

  • "This was truly a European experience in dining. We sat in the wine cellar with it's stone walls, modern art surrounded by wine and music. It was quite lovely! We will for be back, but then we loved it before it moved to it's new address!"

  • "Beaujolais Bistro is now housed within one of those historic homes near Winfield Park giving this Bistro a flair of elegance. The ambience, together with fabulous French cuisine and service was truly amazing; the perfect venue for a romantic evening, special event or for a marvelous relaxing evening with friends. We captured this occasion with four of our dearest friends. We all shared escargot prepared perfectly and moved on to delicious soup and salads. My wife and I shared fresh Alaskan Halibut, another couple Pinot Noir Braised Beef and another enjoyed Diver Scallops with Carrot Ginger sauce. All exquisite. Another marvelous job by Chef Bill Gilbert and his staff; their continued excellence in food and service."

  • "I loved the neighborhood atmosphere in this old home-like building. The abundance of windows gives the place a feeling of openness. We were dining during the early evening hour during daylight so I don't know what the abundance of windows feels like in darkness. The service was good, but slow for the main course. I liked the limited menu which was a plus for me--not too many choices to consider."

  • "Their new location is in an old home slightly away from down town and it is very nice. They have a nice bar the old places was without one and ther are more tables and more room between tables. The food is excellent, nicely presented and nicely served."

  • "They modify the menu daily. Everything from duck, rabbit, lamb, foie gras, and escargot, to specialty drinks only served here. The food is fantastic!!!"

  • "I highly recommend Beaujolais Bistro from the ease and convienence of the online reservation option, the beautiful view from our table, to the food (especially the special Valentine's Day menu), to the way my girlfriend and I were greeted by the host (and hostess in training) and our server Abel who was very helpful with recommendations was great with our whole dining experience. This place is fantastic."

  • "Very disappointing. Been to France many times-this is NOT a French restaurant. It was noisy-which we expected, but the service wasn't just leisurely, it was slow. Even our wine and drinks came out very late. The woman who seated us started telling us about the drink and wine list before I had even sat down. That part felt rushed. The food really was nothing at all to rave about. Why can't Reno have just one good French restaurant, and why couldn't it have been Beaujolais?"

  • "Food was really wonderful but one entree was not as hot as it should have been. Definitely not a big problem. But the server wasn't attentive at all - had to ask for a wine list and then he disappeared forever. He did that a couple of times and the restaurant was not full so it wasn't a matter of being overworked. But overall this is a great place and we recommend it highly."

  • "We loved the new location! The atmosphere is so much improved from the last building/restaurant scene. The food was superb, excellent drinks, our waitress was top notch/friendly, and the overall vibe was a relaxed elegance. Highly recommended!"

  • "A gem. Moved from their old location to a much nicer place. Great parking, should be great for outdoor dining in the summer and fall. Real French food in Reno!! Generous portion sizes."

  • "The new venue has parking, which is a real plus! It is extremely loud and not as comfortable as the old location. The building is very dark and needs landscaping and some refinement to match what the chef is trying to accomplish in the kitchen. It would be nice if the menu had some "standard items" and then they printed a "daily special" rather than have an all new menu each day. The "wines by the glass" are extremely limited for a french bistro. Many of the tables (life the 2 little ones by the front window) are very cramped."

  • "Enjoyed the new location. The service was unbelievable, food was great, fun/energetic atmosphere and an overall "must do it again"."

  • "This a very attractive new location with a great bar; however, our food was disappointing. I ordered escargot and the server brought the snail holders. But the dish arrived with the snails out of the shell and were not good at all. It tasted like the chef opened a can and put the snails in the garlic butter sauce. Then the cassoulet arrived. I have had this many times in the Bay Area and the south of France. This one really missed the mark. The flavors just did not meld together. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Beaujolais Bistro a couple of years ago at their old location. But this one left us disappointed. And, especially in light of the rather steep prices."

  • "We live 5 minutes from their new location. Clearly, there are still a few small rough edges in the new place. The staff seems to have to place to "wait". The food: They have this nailed. All our dishes were very well prepared and interesting. The menu is not perfect (please put an ordinary salad on the list. it is only mentioned in every other review :-) But overall, this is easily one of the best menus in Reno. The new location is energetic, open and very comfortable."

  • "This was a very romantic and the food was excellent. Loved the new venue along the Riverwalk in an old Reno neighborhood. I highly recommend this restaurant for the excellent food, ambience and service. How many high level restaurants do you have the chef come out to greet you during your first course. Thumbs up all the way."

  • "I'll be going back to France in just a few short weeks again - I have a daughter living there with her Auvergnat husband. Grand bebe is schedule to arrive next month. Spending a lot of time there, I have a basis of comparison for Beaujolais Bistro. I think Bill Gilbert has hit it spot on with this refreshing iteration of his well-loved West Street standard - which had lost much of its energy in recent years. The inside is a knockout - bringing to Reno, the best of French bistro style. Warmly welcoming. The food on our visit was awesome. The only sour note? The noise level."

  • "Great restaurant, but one can see that it has just re-opened at a new location. Great location. Too noisy ! Tables placed in wrong positions. One double to close to entrance and another too close to bar. Great future wine cellar gathering place ! They have a fireplace that they don't use…if they can't use it as is…why not insert one of those fireplace inserts..for more romantic ambiance ! Soup was too watery ! Main meal was fabulous ! The wooden bookshelf next too entrance doesn't go with the rest of the decor !"

  • "I wanted a small green salad with my entree. No such item was on the menu but the food server assured me I could have one. It was one of the best salads I have ever eaten. Very simple, lightly dressed, incredibly fresh ingredients! Should be on their menu. I had the Sole for my entree which was soooooo good!"

  • "We had a fabulous dinner! The new location was open, light, and fun. There was a lot of easy parking - even though we just walked. The lamb shanks I had were fabulous and my husband's cassoulet was amazing - the best duck he's had outside of Paris! Great french onion soup as well! We'll be back!"

  • "The restaurant just moved two weeks before we were there. It was the first night for our waitress to work by herself. She still needed more support from her trainer. It took almost 20 minutes to get our cocktails. The bread was quite good. One member of our party asked for a simpler dinner salad and they accommodated him. My entrée was supposed to be braised rabbit with roasted vegetables; I received the rabbit, small leg and thigh, in a bed of pasta with mushroom sauce and 3 steamed small carrots. I would have had them hold the pasta if it were on the menu and asked for and received a side of vegetables. The food was good but unremarkable. I hope they get used to their surroundings and produce food back to their old standards."

  • "The new location on the quiet end of the river walk is wonderful. The ambience of the room is warm and comfortable - large windows, fantastic Tutto Ferro steel work and front door, intricate bar floor/trim, huge globe light fixture. Staff was knowledgeable and perfectly attentive. Food and drink was impeccable. Francine, our server, even sang to my wife for her birthday in French! As much as we'd like to keep this a secret, we highly recommend Beaujolais!"

  • "My husband and I had not been to Beaujolais in several years but had a renewed interest after visiting Hub coffee on Riverside and seeing that Beaujolais was opening in a new location. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a beautiful new bar. Their speciality drinks are excellent with overtures of France and New Orleans. For dinner I had the duck confit, recommended by our fabulous server, Sarah, and my husband had the beef bourguignon. Both were excellent. Our wine was a Pinot Noir from Neyers, a CA winemaker. This was recommended by Bill Gilbert, the chef & owner who came by our table a couple of times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We finished with a yummy chocolate mousse that we shared with the last of our wine."

  • "Beaujolais has become our favorite restaurant when we go to the Reno area. The new location, across from the river, is very nice! Our dinner was delicious, something we've come to expect from Beaujolais. James, our host and restaurant manager prepared me a wonderful martini with blue cheese stuffed olives - yum! And our server Abel, was professional, friendly and gave us quite a bit of information in order to choose our selections well. You can't go wrong with Beaujolais!"

  • "We all ordered the evening's Prix Fixee meal. Appetizer quite good (fish in smoked red peppers). Entree some unknown kind of fish baked in almond crust, none of us liked it. Dessert called something French, tasted like gooey left-over carrot-cake. Restaurant virtually empty, therefore lovely for us to converse, and room extremely attractive."
