Beatrix is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night offerings.

All pastries, breads and sweets are baked in house daily. Some of our favorites include Seeded Rye English Muffins, Honey Butter Cinnamon Buns and Thin & Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies. Our coffee and tea program will showcase two iconic Chicago roasters, Intelligensia and Metropolis.

We had a good time with bringing our family after the Festival of Lights. Great options on the menu but not too many so you know they do things correctly. Great beer list as well. Brought our three kids and for the normal kid menu they each got to pick a specialty fruit juice which made them feel like they were getting awesome smoothies. Waiter took a little while to warm up but he was attentive. I had the salmon which was one of the best with a slaw - it came with tortillas which made it even better. My husband loved his meal too. The prices seemed right and overall it was a great place I would love to come back to without the kids.

Arrived at Beatrix ahead of my friend and our reservation. Bartenders were engaging while I waited and happy to recommend menu items. Atmosphere of the restaurant was very welcoming. Our waiter was attentive but happy to let us set the pace for the evening which was greatly appreciated. Food was excellent and very enjoyable. I will return and be happy to recommend Beatrix to others!

I'm a fan of Beatrix, but this was the most disappointing visit. Service was top-notch, but the food was not of normal Beatrix caliber. This was my first visit for dinner, and the menu is similar to lunch but with some changes. I had the skirt steak, and it was NOT worth the $23. Supposedly served with chimichurri, I instead received one spoonful of something that looked similar to that--but not at all similar in taste. The steak with lukewarm, and the fries were unseasoned and limp. My fellow diner had the chicken bebe--a sad-looking dish of flat chicken that was tasteless. The avocado appetizer was good but there was barely enough to share among the four of us. On the other hand, another fellow diner had the burger, which seemed to be just as good as usual. The meatball appetizer was the best part of our meal--flavorful and unique. I'll be back to Beatrix, but I might stick to dishes I know are good--or just stick to lunchtime.

The salads are all outstanding but especially the three grain salad. The heavier dinner options all look good too, I tried the short rib which was perfectly cooked and the mashed cauliflower was the perfect compliment. They could use a little more variety in the appetizers but the hummus is always good.

I enjoy lunch and dinner at Beatrix. The food has always been very good and service friendly and attentive. I really enjoy the atmosphere, with the decor being relaxed and eclectic. As long as you don't sit next to the door to the hotel lobby, where people walk by your table frequently, bumping into you accidentally, you will enjoy the experience.

It was a comedy of errors. First, we got the wrong order. Then, there was a delay in the kitchen. We had a lot to laugh about as the mistakes were handled well. The real surprise came when we found out that over 3 hour valet becomes $35 without any warning. OUCH!!

Went for dinner and had a very good dining experience. I like the menu since they do not try to do too much but focus on a limited number of well done dishes. Service was average but the server admitted that it was her first week so we will cut her some slack. The quinoa snack item was very good.

This is a go-to option for us with friends who also appreciate great food and service. The atmosphere of the restaurant is wonderful, although the tables are very close. Our only complaint is that the restaurant is FREEZING. We sat near the curtain on the right side of the restaurant as you enter and that curtain is no barrier, except possible visibly. That's a real shame, since winter in CHicago is a very long season.

The concept was great, lighter comfort food and well executed. Loved the turkey sweet potato meatloaf, mashed potatoes were heavenly, not sure how much "lighter" they were, but they complemented the meatloaf and kale very well. The caramel pie for dessert was divine. Good thing I split it with the two other guests in my party! Portions were not huge, but I did have enough as a small lunch the next day. Will definitely go back!

Beatrix is located in the Aloft Hotel. I am usually very skeptical of restaurants in hotels. Beatrix was a rare exception. Both of our entress were very good. Beatrix has an exception pastry chef who makes desserts for the restaurant and does outstanding morning pasteries at their coffee bar also in the hotel. Jose was a GREAT waiter. Very well informed about the food and wine. Casual but professional. Next time I'm in Chicago I will visit Beatrix.

Beatrix is OK. It is a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant...and that tells the story. The martinis are a little too watery, the blue cheese olives a little too sweet. The red wine was a little too warm, as if stored on top of a refrigerator somewhere. The Prime Burgers were a little too greasy with giardiniera topping a little too dry. The Carmel Pie was the best thing on the menu, if a little too small.

This was the 2nd time we went to Beatrix. First time was by chance for dinner, and ended up being a pleasant surprise. This time was for brunch, and we still enjoyed it. Food is quite healthy, international, and with "human" portions (i.e. normal size, just the right amount of food, no over eating...) - which to me is a quality. The place is vibrant, well decorated, both cozy and trendy, and central. Staff is helpful and smiling. All-in-all, a place I would go back easily for a romantic or a casual group dinner, or lunch. It never disappoints.

We made 9 am reservations on a Saturday and were immediately in awe of the decor. Its like walking into a modern lodge cabin. Big sturdy wood chairs and tables for larger groups and more quaint smaller wood tables with ottoman type chairs for parties of 2. Great pastry selection including a deliciously moist gluten free coffee cake. Our waitress was friendly and patient. When we asked of any specials and the waitress advised that the Chilaquiles bar would not be open until 10 AM we immediately opted for some Morning cocktails and pastries to hold us over til 10. The Chilaquiles bar was very much worth the wait, I wish I hadn't had a pastry so that i could have went up a second time. Great find!

we have been here before and the food and experience were awesome. So we decided to come back for a celebratory brunch. Getting a drink took a really long time. the waitress brought the food out. My boyfriends was the wrong thing which she realized right away so took it back to replace it. we started in on mine while waiting for his but it was already cold. ALL of it. the eggs and all sides. His didn't mind his but didn't love it either. our bill came to 35 and when I put down a 50 dollar gift card she asked if I would like to use it all. I didn't really think a 15 dollar tip was in order so I explained that I would like her to run the 35 and I would tip on that. just a bummer experience since we were there for a celebration

We had dinner at Beatrix last week and had excellent food and service. The noise was more than "energetic" - it was overwhelming and detracted from the otherwise fine experience. The restaurant clearly is catering to a younger demographic: management should consider holding back on the volume until later in the evening.

Beatrix just made it on to the 2015 Michelin Bib Gourmand list and the food definitely lived up to its new status. The quinoa cakes were great. There were lots of elevated healthy options and a good selection for vegetarians as well. Although the avocado and pumpkin carpaccio was a stretch - not sliced thin enough for that name. I'll have to come bake to try out their bakery.

I have visited Beatrix twice now, once with my husband and once with my husband and aunt. The food has been absolutely spectacular each time we have come. I recommend the braised dishes 100% and their wine and cocktails selections are good too. Our last visit was great, but it was hard to hear each other and the wait staff once the live music started. I did not realize there would be a live band or we would of requested to sit farther away from the center of the restaurant. We received our drinks after about 10 minutes of ordering them and food approx. another 15 minutes later. Overall, the experience was good in terms of food and service, noise level was just too much for a casual conversation.

The food was awesome, the service was great. The waitress was very knowledgeable regarding the menu. She recommended for desserts the pumpkin/caramel pie. It was delicious. I will be placing my order for Thanksgiving. We took my colleague to Beatrix for her 50th birthday and she loved it. The turkey burger was nice and moist with the special steak sauce. I could go on and on. I even ordered take outs for dinner. A hidden gem. I will be visiting again soon. Thank you kindly for the pleasant atmosphere; but most importantly the delicious food and drinks.

The food at this place is fantastic . I can recommend the potato salad deviled eggs, the apple and squash soup , the short ribs, the branzino , the incredible desserts ( apple tart , caramel pie) but the wait time between drinks , appetizers , entrees , and dessert is just too long . We wondered if our waiter had left , inspite of his charm when he was at our table. It's such a fun place with extremely high quality , tasty and appealing food but the slowness is a major issue.
