Went there with 4 people. We
started with two orders of the beet and mozzarella arancini. I had the lasagnette, one person got the rabbit and two people got the mussels/fries. Wine list was a little pricey so we stuck to wine by the glass and beer. The place is small, but we didn't have to wait for a table. Service was great as well. We never had to ask for another drink or signal the server the entire meal."

We used a Living Social deal but
were allowed to be flexible and try the whole menu. The home made charcuterie selection is one of the best I have tasted (and my dad was a butcher who made his own meats and pates). Be sure to try a selection, especially the duck and pate. Mussels were sweet and perfect with the fries, whole branzini was cooked perfectly but next time I'd ask for the sauce on the side. Generous portions so we ended up taking some food home. The pickle plate is a treat, the beignets with caramel, blossom sauce an ideal end to meal. Great staff, did not rush us. Nice Russian River wine for $48. Cheaper wines available. Large central table for parties. Kids were made welcome there and didn't intrude on the experience."

Overall a worthwhile dining
experience. There are many who are far more qualified to review this restaurant than I, and my impression is that the chef was experimenting with a target diner in mind whose palate is more refined than mine. I did enjoy that sometimes an initial bitterness gave way to interesting flavors. When we left, we asked our server to call us a cab. When it arrived, a couple of people tried to jump into it, but she chased them off. Go server!"

We sampled two entrees and a
charcuterie plate plus olives. Everything was spectacular! Service was great to boot. Would definitely return, and have heard that the brunch is fantastic. Planning to make it one of my new go-to spots for a late night snack."

What a great restaurant. We were
blown away by the quality of both the food and the service. The bone marrow was outstanding, as was the charcuterie. The wine list, too - short, but hit every mark as far as I'm concerned. The dry riesling was a perfect accompaniment to the meal, and I was thrilled with this recommendation by our server. My only complaint would be the tight quarters and overall noise level, but what can you expect from a popular, surprisingly affordable restaurant of this quality? Our experience was fantastic on pretty much every level - I HIGHLY recommend this place!"

amazing food, the rabbit and bone
marrow were my favorite. We had the travelzoo deal, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees plus one dessert for 50 bucks. Totally worth it. But they have specials where you can order 2 entrees for 25. The service was excellent, definitely going there again to try out the rest of the menu"

Everything A-Z is great here from
those that answer the phone, seat you and greet you, serve you the delicious food, make great recommendations, and keep you happy and filled up where it matters! :) It is always a huge treat and something to definitely look forward to for weeks if I know I will get the opportunity to have a meal here!"

Came here for a date and loved the
atmosphere- dark blue walls, wooden bar in the back with views of the kitchen. Thoroughly enjoyed the wine and rich food on a cold January night. This is a solid spot for a tasty and affordable dinner if you love meat."

The house salad with Prosciutto,
shaved fennel, butter lettuce and Pomegranate was excellent. We also had Smoked Duck Breast, di Norcia, Coppa and Spanish Chorizo all was perfect."

I've had a couple of great brunch
experiences here but dinner was only so-so, and overpriced for what we got. So good for a drinks and snack, but not a good choice for dinner. Service good, but too overt -- we needed more quiet time but she was clearing our plates as soon as the last bite was off. That said, go for an early cocktail and snack before the show, or after work relaxed happy hour -- only because the ambiance is so chill"

Beast and the Hare is a
comfortable neighborhood restaurant that I tried out largely because of the 1000 pt. Opentable bonus. The deviled eggs were a good start, bright and flavorful. The duck bolognese pasta was even more flavorful but the portion was pretty stingy. Would have been happier with tad more pasta. The burger was juicy but not very memorable in spite of the cheese and bacon that was also piled on. Thankfully, the service was warm, friendly and attentive."

Was surprised that one quarter of
the menu was chacuterie. For main food options there was 2 pastas and 3 meats with one of them being a burger. There were 3 salad options but at $9 each that seemed pricy. Kale salad was grilled and unusual but over dressed so ask for dressing on the side. Did love the rabbit over polenta and would go back for that. Just don't go with vegetarians or non game or non pork eaters."

Service wasn't great and they
weren't busy either. I've had better antipasti/charcuterie elsewhere. The proportions were off as well. I'll probably loop back around at some point to give it a try, but it's going to be a while."

I went to this restaurant with my
friends for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the dishes that were offered. The ingredients are fresh and serving sizes just right. They have good beers on tap as well! We were there around 7 PM but quickly filled up towards 8 PM."

they are doing a promotion for a
tasting menu with beer pairing. it's 5 courses paired with 4 beers. it was my first time at the beast and the hare and it was an excellent opportunity to try out many of their dishes on the menu. i would definitely go back."

The food take 45 minutes to come
out... way beyond acceptable. We had a party of 5, but the restaurant was not full. The people at the table next to us were complaining, too. This was actually the second time I ate here in the last few months, and it took too long that time as well --- they have a problem, it was not a fluke thing. I really want to like the restaurant, but this was ridiculous."

22nd and Guerrero has a restaurant
on each corner and each has something unique to offer. I had a great time catching up with a friend at Beast and the Hare. The food was delicious, as was the wine. The decor was a little more casual than I had expected. It has a pub-like feeling, but don't let that deter you from good food and good conversation."

However, there was a long delay between the appetizers and service, When the food arrived mine was good, but my partner's , while good had parts of his dinner that were inedible because it had been salted heavily and not mixed properly - part of his main was not even edible. I loved the duck breast
charcuterie. Artichoke salad was also pretty good. Rabbit Ragu was hearty and flavorful. Ambiance/noise level were affected by a couple at the next table arguing about their wedding reception venue. Careful where you sit!"

Really enjoyed Beast and the Hare
for a group weekend brunch - the restaurant wasn't crowded and the staff were happy to give us all a lot of attention. While the menu isn't conventional brunch fare, it isn't intimidating, either - we really enjoyed the duck hash and the brunch salad was well received, too. Overall, a great, very presentable place to spend a Sunday morning."

The appetizer arrived with missing
ingredients. The ceviche swam in a sea of bland sauce, and the bone marrow had no flavor. How does one take out the flavor out of bone marrow? Finally, the beignets, which are supposed to be a fluffy fried heavenly dessert were closer to fried pita bread. It was painful to chew, and not because they were hot. The menu looked so promising. The result - not so much."

The service at Beast and the Hare
was excellent for Sunday morning brunch. We went there early on a Sunday morning (10am) and were well taken care of by our server. The food is good, but not great. To be fair, I had the granola and yogurt so there isn't much room there for excellence, but the portion was pretty small. The pancakes were pretty damn good from what I stole from my girlfriend. Only two kinds of tea though? Really? Even in the coffee-elitist Mission there should be more choices than that."

Maybe it's because we rushed to
the restaurant but walking in it felt like an oven. Luckily we snagged one of the few outside tables and everything was uphill from there. Good variety of food, the service was considerate and quick, and reasonably priced for what we ordered. Thanks Beast and Hare!"

I've heard this restaurant talked
up quite a bit, but it falls under the trend, that many restaurants are following, of overreaching with the menu and charging too much. With a couple appetizers and entrees, and a glass of wine each, the bill came to almost $100. The deviled eggs were over spiced, so you couldn't taste anything at all. The marrow was overcooked, dry. The burger was about 3.5" diameter on really dry toast. The wine and beer selection is good. The space is cozy and romantic. The waitress was amazingly attentive and sweet: which seems rare in the hipster age of customer service. With that said, two of our dishes came out of the kitchen wrong and needed to be returned, and I was charged too much on my card. I had higher hopes"

The menu is amazing looking but
there's not anything nice about getting cramped in a wobbly table/chair situation when having a special dinner with a friend and reserving a week ahead. Also, I just don't think my meal portion was really cooked enough. This was a disappointment because I'd been looking forward to trying this out for a long time and had been pushing for this place!"

Beast and the Hare had fresh,
delicious food. Really, really good. We followed our server's recommendations for the charcuterie and they were fantastic. The woman who served us was professional and fine, but she got our order wrong 3 or so times. She apologized for this, which was nice. Overall, I feel like she was probably just having a bad day. I would recommend that the servers fill up diners' water cups more frequently."
