A word from Beast and Bottle
beast + bottle is a rustic American restaurant serving craft dinner and brunch.

Run by siblings Paul C. Reilly, who mans the burners, and Aileen Reilly, who oversees front of house, beast + bottle is located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood.

The “beast” refers to the restaurant’s appreciation for the whole animal, utilizing all parts to honor its integrity. The owners’ relationships with farmers, ranchers and purveyors bring ethically and humanely raised, responsibly harvested and organic (whenever possible) ingredients to the table.

The “bottle” refers to drinks. b+b’s wine program is influenced by the European tradition of drinking wine how you’d like – whether that’s a glass or by the liter.

The menu changes whenever the kitchen pleases based on what’s in-season and what the cooks are enjoying at the moment. What remains constant is a steady focus on sustainability and versatility of ingredients.

Good food, the rabbit entree was alright. The small plates were way more flavorful[the flatbread, The charcuterie plate with duck liver. My friend ordered something that had a whole entire shallot on it.. us 3 being culinary-inclined didn't really agree with it, but hey, what do we know. Overall this isn't a slap at the food its a slap at the service. The fact that the 2 guests at my table explained more and knew more about the plates infront of us than our server was baffling and amusing all the same. Great food none the less, I think the rabbit+pasta dish could use another element of flavor. And I think the gnocci was a little bland but I digress, it was free.

We started off with some duck confit poutines (one of my personal favorite dishes) that were smothered in a bacon gravy. The only thing this lacked was maybe some cheese curds instead of just melted, but that's just a personal preference and no way detracted from the dish. After enjoying a mimosa and bloody mary, we moved on to some lamb shank hash and a chicken sausage. The chicken sausage had some green chiles with just the right amount of heat coming through. The lamb shank hash was fantastic; the only defect was that the potatoes were just a little underdone. All in all, Beast & Bottle was superb and we will be back.

The mushroom Po Boy was outstanding. Mimosas were excellent but small so I ordered a few. My boyfriend had the habenaro bloody which was fabulous. We ordered the "fries" confit appetizer to start with and it was really salty. That really is our only complaint. We will definitely be back for a Po Boy soon.

This was our first time going to beast + bottle for dinner, we have been twice for brunch in the past and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. This occasional was to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. We decided on the set-course dinner for two. Everything was outstanding and incredibly flavorful from appetizer to dessert. Our mule drinks were awesome, so delicious! Staff was very attentive, water rarely stayed low for more than a minute, plates cleared quickly. Such a great little restaurant we plan on returning very soon for more dinners. Want to try everything on the menu and they were very accommodating to my girlfriend's food allergies.

Overall the food was fantastic, but it always make me say "What?!!" When you pay $4 for a bread to go with your mussels, and it is literally two bites. Then I ordered the side of carrots, and it was a bed of pasta with about 12 nibs of carrots in it for $12. A bit ridiculous, up the portion size and you may feel more satisfied at the cost/benefit ratio.

Brunch here last Sunday. I had the oats with root vegetables and poached egg -- basically a savory oatmeal. wonderful and exceeded expectations. The eggs are from their own nearby flock of the chickens and very fresh and rich. My wife had the pork confit with fried green tomatoes. That was terrific too. Better than average pork belly and a great contrast to the earthiness of the black-eyed peas and the acid of the tomatoes. The drinks were creative and well made. Service was attentive and friendly. All in all, one of the better brunches we had had in a while.

We arrived on a Sunday with a brunch reservation in the morning. The dining room and patio filled up quickly. My friend and I were very impressed with the food. I had the special -- some sort of "silky oats" with root vegetables -- and she had the chicken sausage. The portions were perfect. Both meals were delicious! Very complementary flavors. We definitely want to come back and try more items on the menu.

Our first time here and we were very impressed by the attention to detail. The food was wonderful, the service was very attentive but not intrusive and the courses were well paced. We were celebrating a birthday and they did a great job of recognizing that with both bubbles and dessert. A perfect choice for a special occasion.

I'd been looking forward to checking out this spot and was really disappointed with the food. Between the 4 of us, we had 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and two desserts. While nothing was bad, nothing stood out and was that great, either. Particularly for the price point, we were very disappointed.

Great patio, yummy food, fantastic coffee, friendly service. Only negatives I can think of are small portions and very limited vegetarian options (guess the restaurant name should've been clue #1 for that!). They let us sit at our table for hours, even on a busy Saturday at lunchtime.

We went to B&B for brunch. While the food menu is small, all of our dishes came out perfectly prepared and utterly delicious (Sweet Corn-Saffron Waffles, and Corned Lamb Hash). We also had some mixed drinks that were delicious as well, I just wish they had bottomless mimosas or Bloody Marys as an option for brunch.

I had the corned lamb hash and the wife had the special (eggs, bacon fried hash browns, etc.). Both were excellent. The very picky foodie in me would have liked more diversity in the corned lamb hash (ie more veggies), but its seriously hard to complain about too much corned lamb. The outdoor patio is nicely shaded. We sat in the one seat that had full sun, which was perfect since it was in the 60s. Oh and the spicy bloody mary ("come on aileen!") was delicious. Service was top notch.

The food is great and unique in some cases -- come with an open attitude. It was a great night and an experience that we will for sure be doing again very soon. Priced very fair for any place like it on 17th/downtown, if it's too expensive for you go somewhere else!

The bread and butter was the best I've had. The desserts were quote good too. But the entrees left a lot to be desired. I would go back for a glass of wine and some small plates maybe. But I definitely will not eat a whole meal there again. I'd rather eat somewhere o know will be amazing if I'm going to drop that much money That being said, they've done a great job with the space they have. The last restaurant I went to there was dark and cramped. They have opened it up and made it feel airy and homey. It's worth going and checking out if you have the cash to spare.

I can describe this experience in one word -SUPERB! Food was wonderful. We dined with our daughter & a friend. We chose 3 starters & 3 entrees & we shared. Plenty for all & every dish was wonderful. Wine list was unusual, but excellent. Service was as good as any I can remember. It is a small neighborhood establishment, but it has the advantage of off street parking. We will return!

The dishes here are prepared with a lot of attention paid to interesting combinations and fresh products. Very appealing presentation, too. Although definitely on the spendy side, you will not leave disappointed. The wine list is eclectic, with selections you will not find elsewhere. You can choose a glass, pot/carafe or bottle, depending on how thirsty you are. We made our way through a handful of glasses throughout our dinner and were very pleased.

Service was great, and they were able to seat us early. But the food, which I expected fantastic things from, was really uneven. There was a roasted corn soup that just seemed like brown goo. But then, the small plates were delicious and beautifully presented. And after that, one lovely dessert, and one that didn't taste like much of anything. I would still go back to try again, though. It's a very nice place.

Salad was great, as was an olive/pasta appetizer. The tuna pasta entrée was very spicy. I believe black pepper was throughout the tuna, which then permeated the dish. I'm quite sensitive, but this was so bad that my esophagus burned for the rest of the evening, and I couldn't eat more than 6 bites. My dinner partner agreed, but he ate the pasta; he didn't eat the tuna as it was dry. Very disappointing.

I typically try to go a nice different dinner once a week. I have found that many of the small higher end places like The Populist, Linger, ect. are very rude and often the waiter/waitress are seem to behavior above the people at the table... THE BEAST and BOTTLE was NOT like this at all. Our waitress was amazing so sweet and very patient with us and the food was to die for. We shared a light salad with goat cheese, the corn soup and a flat bread. Serving sizes are great, not too much but don't leave hungry. My m.mule was made with real ginger. The food was so great I even ordered a dessert to share with the table which was the perfect amount for both of us to have 2 nice bites to end the night! GREAT FIND!
