A word from Beast and Bottle
beast + bottle is a rustic American restaurant serving craft dinner and brunch.

Run by siblings Paul C. Reilly, who mans the burners, and Aileen Reilly, who oversees front of house, beast + bottle is located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood.

The “beast” refers to the restaurant’s appreciation for the whole animal, utilizing all parts to honor its integrity. The owners’ relationships with farmers, ranchers and purveyors bring ethically and humanely raised, responsibly harvested and organic (whenever possible) ingredients to the table.

The “bottle” refers to drinks. b+b’s wine program is influenced by the European tradition of drinking wine how you’d like – whether that’s a glass or by the liter.

The menu changes whenever the kitchen pleases based on what’s in-season and what the cooks are enjoying at the moment. What remains constant is a steady focus on sustainability and versatility of ingredients.

Diner Reviews
  • "Salad was great, as was an olive/pasta appetizer. The tuna pasta entrée was very spicy. I believe black pepper was throughout the tuna, which then permeated the dish. I'm quite sensitive, but this was so bad that my esophagus burned for the rest of the evening, and I couldn't eat more than 6 bites. My dinner partner agreed, but he ate the pasta; he didn't eat the tuna as it was dry. Very disappointing."

  • "I typically try to go a nice different dinner once a week. I have found that many of the small higher end places like The Populist, Linger, ect. are very rude and often the waiter/waitress are seem to behavior above the people at the table... THE BEAST and BOTTLE was NOT like this at all. Our waitress was amazing so sweet and very patient with us and the food was to die for. We shared a light salad with goat cheese, the corn soup and a flat bread. Serving sizes are great, not too much but don't leave hungry. My m.mule was made with real ginger. The food was so great I even ordered a dessert to share with the table which was the perfect amount for both of us to have 2 nice bites to end the night! GREAT FIND!"

  • "My husband and I had the Chicken Hatch Chile Sausage and it was delicious. My friend had the Pigs in a Blanket, which was also amazing! We will definitely come back!"

  • "We came here after a recommendation with a co-worker. The restaurant is decorated very well and is very cute. The server explained the premise of the restaurant and helped guide us towards some great food. The wine recommendation was delicious and the food was exceptional. Surprisingly large portions. Would definitely go back."

  • "What a great experience. Well crafted food. I love the locally sourced movement and the thoughtfulness of where the food comes from. Great flavors and combinations to dance across your pallette!"

  • "We enjoyed the creative menu and friendly staff. A little eavy-handed on the salt-so next time I'll ask for light salt."

  • "This was my first time at B&B for brunch having had a few dinners there - it was everything we expected and more. The bloodies are so flavorful - warm and not too intense. The brunch food was just as amazing as I hoped - I had the chicken sausage with cherries...a sweet and savory delight. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We are a group of dear friends and I know we gabbed on longer than the typical table, but no one made us feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable."

  • "Beast + Bottle is simply perfection. From the warm and welcoming hosts to the intimate dining room to the spectacular menu, you just can't go wrong. Though my husband and I love Beast + Bottle for brunch and weeknight dinner anytime, we also chose to dine here on our anniversary recently and the team, as always, made it a night to remember. The service is impeccable and unintrusive, making for an evening where you and your guest(s) can enjoy the great food, wine and cocktail selection without noticing the water being refilled or the plates being taken away. We thoroughly enjoyed the ultra-fresh menu, especially the scallops and the lamb leg. And don't miss dessert! The peach fritters were the perfect ending to a perfect evening."

  • "While I wanted to love everything about this restaurant including the food, it was so outrageously expensive for what you received on your plate (wonderful service and gorgeous ambience aside). I just couldn't get over that. It started with a glass of wine for $12. My friends dessert bite took the cake for its ridiculous portion-to-price ratio. I felt like dupe the whole lovely meal."

  • "Food was amazing. One of the best meals we've had. Everyone loved their dish. The service was a little lacking in that our waiter was a bit snooty. He seemed as though he was having an off night."

  • "A fantastic place for a special occasion! Not fancy inside, but well themed with the rustic feel with top-notch service and food. The creativity and quality here is hard to beat. You'll definitely have a memorable meal here for all the right reasons. I suggest getting the tasting option which nets you an app, main dish, and dessert, plus they'll likely throw in another snack or two like they did for us."

  • "I had brunch at Beast + Bottle and thought the lamb shank hash dish was sensationally good. I tried a few other dishes as well, and they were also excellent. It's rare to find such an interesting brunch menu where the dishes are executed so well. Service was great, too. Bravo!"

  • "My wife and I were just visiting Denver and found this on OpenTable. It was one of the best places we have ever been. Everything from the food to the service was over the top!"

  • "Food preparation was mediocre and very disappointing. The green tomatoes dish with polenta was very dry and tasteless The duck was the same very dry, no sauce Sorry but we will not waste our money on this restaurant any more"

  • "The food and ambiance are amazing here- the only downside is that it takes a while to get seated. We made a reservation for 1, showed up at 1245 and checked in, and still didn't get sat until 130. I'd definitely go back- the chicken cherry sausage was amazing- but I'd make sure I set aside a good portion of time to dine here."

  • "We had just been to Cook Street the night before and Chef John was a guest chef that night. The next morning we checked out his restaurant for brunch and it was amazing! So good! My husband had the lamb hash and I had the quiche. Exquisite!"

  • "Overall good food, small plates were definitely a better bet. Some delicious flavors, the large plates were ok, a bit expensive and pork was undercooked and tough.....so not our favorite. Through extensive dining experiences I prefer to frequent restaurants that make things right, no questions asked, rather than tell me how they like to prepare a dish - in reference to the undercooked pork. But that all aside was a fun evening, just probably won't be one of our regular restaurants."

  • "Went to B&B for dinner last Friday 7/25 and was not disappointed! We loved the atmosphere...cozy, not too loud or too quiet, friendly, casual. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The cocktails are unique and tasty - we each had "mules". The appetizer of duck liver mousse as well as the snapper and pork entrees were delicious and fresh! We topped it all off with desserts that were to die for - can't remember what it was called but it had chocolate ganache, crispy meringue, and peanut butter mousse - heavenly! My husband had an apricot tart with cream cheese ice cream, also delicious."

  • "The food was really really good my son and I had lamb & pork for main. The meat was spectacular and the accompanying sides complimented the flavored & textures beautifully. I'm only in town for 3 days but if we can go back we will."

  • "Ambiance, service, wine were all terrific. Menu, not so much. I read through the menu 4x and still did not understand what 90% of the items were. I asked the server for a translation and though she tried, it really did nothing to pique my interest. I actually had the thought: "Maybe we should leave". I ordered a SALAD plate and ended up being a beautifully arranged glob of goat cheese with about 3 slices of beet. Not 3 beets, 3 SLICES. Goat cheese is not salad. Next up: gnocchi/mushroom small plate. Presentation was superb. Taste was out of this world. The problem: I could have eaten the entire plate in one single bite. Gnocchi was the size of my pinky nail and there were 6 of them. I spent $100 and went home hungry."

  • "While making my reservation I noted it was my wife’s birthday. When we were seated our waitress, Hannah said happy birthday. Through out the dinner we were surprised with a birthday champagne toast and desert. We were blown away at the level of service by Hannah and the entire staff. Everyone was super friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The food was amazing. The combination the service and food made for a great birthday dinner. Thanks to the entire staff for the great dining experience."

  • "Service was incredible...a very lovely evening, nice wine recommendation, and sweet staff. That said, the food, while creative and lovely, seemed to slightly miss the mark. Pea cakes were dry, polenta fried green tomatoes the same. I will go back, because I love the people, atmosphere and location...so maybe I am being too picky on the food."

  • "this is currently our favorite place in denver. consistently high quality food, creative menu, and excellent service without being stuffy. the tuna bucatini dish on the current menu is a knockout, and the salmon rillette small plate was a nice combination of flavors. citrus pound cake is a nice light dessert -- not too sweet."

  • "Excellent food and if it isn't just perfect, management will make sure your visit is wonderful... We will be back to try the fish... Pasta was a little too au dente for my taste buds as it was thick pasta...Bread was excellent accompanied by French butter-- Bison appetizer was excellent.... Pasta was served lukewarm but management again righted the wrong... Puroc Pork dish was just so-so as the meat seemed to be overcooked... But the person who ordered that had another meal made for them which turned out perfect... Drinks were delicious... Wine was excellent..."

  • "Had high expectations that were not met. While menu is thoughtfully put together the food preparation had some real missteps. My salad dressing was too oily and the salad was over dressed which was a shame because greens were so fresh. My chicken with pasta was billed as being light but the sauce was heavy and not particularly interesting. One stand out was lamb dish friend ordered. Desserts were also not remarkable except basil ice cream/sorbet. Grilled lemon pound cake was bland with little hint of lemon. And the use of fans to cool dining was annoying. The one next to our table kept falling off block it was propped upon. Need better solution."

  • "The food was fantastic. The service was exceptional. Chef Paul was there overseeing every dish that was released from the kitchen and ensured it was perfect. We were greeted with a warm welcome and our server ensured our experience was beyond wonderful. I could not have asked for a better dinning experience."

  • "Great atmosphere, wonderful food. We went the the chef's choice which pairs a different wine with each of your four courses. I don't think I'd do it any other way. Great evening all around!"

  • "We have eaten here many times for both brunch and dinner and found it to be consistently terrific. Paul Reilly is an innovative chef who provides an evolving and eclectic but accessible menu. This time (brunch) I had the lamb shank hash that is based on a house "corned" lamb shank topped with a perfectly cooked farm fresh egg. Out of this world. Service is prompt, professional and low key. Ambience is relaxed. Great experience."

  • "The past two times I've visited beast + bottle for brunch, the place was unbearably hot. I'm not sure if they don't have central air or if they choose not to run it because the ceiling fans add to the ambiance of the restaurant, but it's impossible to enjoy a meal there when you're overwhelmed by the heat and stuffiness of the place. Both times I've almost passed out. It's a shame, because the food is delicious."
