A word from Beast and Bottle
beast + bottle is a rustic American restaurant serving craft dinner and brunch.

Run by siblings Paul C. Reilly, who mans the burners, and Aileen Reilly, who oversees front of house, beast + bottle is located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood.

The “beast” refers to the restaurant’s appreciation for the whole animal, utilizing all parts to honor its integrity. The owners’ relationships with farmers, ranchers and purveyors bring ethically and humanely raised, responsibly harvested and organic (whenever possible) ingredients to the table.

The “bottle” refers to drinks. b+b’s wine program is influenced by the European tradition of drinking wine how you’d like – whether that’s a glass or by the liter.

The menu changes whenever the kitchen pleases based on what’s in-season and what the cooks are enjoying at the moment. What remains constant is a steady focus on sustainability and versatility of ingredients.

We went to B&B for brunch. While the food menu is small, all of our dishes came out perfectly prepared and utterly delicious (Sweet Corn-Saffron Waffles, and Corned Lamb Hash). We also had some mixed drinks that were delicious as well, I just wish they had bottomless mimosas or Bloody Marys as an option for brunch.

I had the corned lamb hash and the wife had the special (eggs, bacon fried hash browns, etc.). Both were excellent. The very picky foodie in me would have liked more diversity in the corned lamb hash (ie more veggies), but its seriously hard to complain about too much corned lamb. The outdoor patio is nicely shaded. We sat in the one seat that had full sun, which was perfect since it was in the 60s. Oh and the spicy bloody mary ("come on aileen!") was delicious. Service was top notch.

Great service and great food. Very creative and a staff that will work with any drink request you might have -- and their own drinks are very good as well. The food is great and unique in some cases -- come with an open attitude. It was a great night and an experience that we will for sure be doing again very soon. Priced very fair for any place like it on 17th/downtown, if it's too expensive for you go somewhere else!

The bread and butter was the best I've had. The desserts were quote good too. But the entrees left a lot to be desired. I would go back for a glass of wine and some small plates maybe. But I definitely will not eat a whole meal there again. I'd rather eat somewhere o know will be amazing if I'm going to drop that much money That being said, they've done a great job with the space they have. The last restaurant I went to there was dark and cramped. They have opened it up and made it feel airy and homey. It's worth going and checking out if you have the cash to spare.

I can describe this experience in one word -SUPERB! Food was wonderful. We dined with our daughter & a friend. We chose 3 starters & 3 entrees & we shared. Plenty for all & every dish was wonderful. Wine list was unusual, but excellent. Service was as good as any I can remember. It is a small neighborhood establishment, but it has the advantage of off street parking. We will return!

The dishes here are prepared with a lot of attention paid to interesting combinations and fresh products. Very appealing presentation, too. Although definitely on the spendy side, you will not leave disappointed. The wine list is eclectic, with selections you will not find elsewhere. You can choose a glass, pot/carafe or bottle, depending on how thirsty you are. We made our way through a handful of glasses throughout our dinner and were very pleased.

Service was great, and they were able to seat us early. But the food, which I expected fantastic things from, was really uneven. There was a roasted corn soup that just seemed like brown goo. But then, the small plates were delicious and beautifully presented. And after that, one lovely dessert, and one that didn't taste like much of anything. I would still go back to try again, though. It's a very nice place.

We always look forward to dining at Beast and Bottle. Although the menu and wine lists are not large, the selections are always interesting. I love that they serve locally sourced products, and their frequent menu changes allows them to use in season produce. Portion sizes are just right. Not overly large, yet certainly filling. Salad was great, as was an olive/pasta appetizer. The tuna pasta entrée was very spicy. I believe black pepper was throughout the tuna, which then permeated the dish. I'm quite sensitive, but this was so bad that my esophagus burned for the rest of the evening, and I couldn't eat more than 6 bites. My dinner partner agreed, but he ate the pasta; he didn't eat the tuna as it was dry. Very disappointing.

I typically try to go a nice different dinner once a week. I have found that many of the small higher end places like The Populist, Linger, ect. are very rude and often the waiter/waitress are seem to behavior above the people at the table... THE BEAST and BOTTLE was NOT like this at all. Our waitress was amazing so sweet and very patient with us and the food was to die for. We shared a light salad with goat cheese, the corn soup and a flat bread. Serving sizes are great, not too much but don't leave hungry. My m.mule was made with real ginger. The food was so great I even ordered a dessert to share with the table which was the perfect amount for both of us to have 2 nice bites to end the night! GREAT FIND!

This was my first time at B&B for brunch having had a few dinners there - it was everything we expected and more. The bloodies are so flavorful - warm and not too intense. The brunch food was just as amazing as I hoped - I had the chicken sausage with cherries...a sweet and savory delight. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We are a group of dear friends and I know we gabbed on longer than the typical table, but no one made us feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable.

Beast + Bottle is simply perfection. From the warm and welcoming hosts to the intimate dining room to the spectacular menu, you just can't go wrong. Though my husband and I love Beast + Bottle for brunch and weeknight dinner anytime, we also chose to dine here on our anniversary recently and the team, as always, made it a night to remember. The service is impeccable and unintrusive, making for an evening where you and your guest(s) can enjoy the great food, wine and cocktail selection without noticing the water being refilled or the plates being taken away. We thoroughly enjoyed the ultra-fresh menu, especially the scallops and the lamb leg. And don't miss dessert! The peach fritters were the perfect ending to a perfect evening.

While I wanted to love everything about this restaurant including the food, it was so outrageously expensive for what you received on your plate (wonderful service and gorgeous ambience aside). I just couldn't get over that. It started with a glass of wine for $12. My friends dessert bite took the cake for its ridiculous portion-to-price ratio. I felt like dupe the whole lovely meal.

The food and ambiance are amazing here- the only downside is that it takes a while to get seated. We made a reservation for 1, showed up at 1245 and checked in, and still didn't get sat until 130. I'd definitely go back- the chicken cherry sausage was amazing- but I'd make sure I set aside a good portion of time to dine here.

Overall good food, small plates were definitely a better bet. Some delicious flavors, the large plates were ok, a bit expensive and pork was undercooked and tough.....so not our favorite. Through extensive dining experiences I prefer to frequent restaurants that make things right, no questions asked, rather than tell me how they like to prepare a dish - in reference to the undercooked pork. But that all aside was a fun evening, just probably won't be one of our regular restaurants.

Went to B&B for dinner last Friday 7/25 and was not disappointed! We loved the atmosphere...cozy, not too loud or too quiet, friendly, casual. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The cocktails are unique and tasty - we each had "mules". The appetizer of duck liver mousse as well as the snapper and pork entrees were delicious and fresh! We topped it all off with desserts that were to die for - can't remember what it was called but it had chocolate ganache, crispy meringue, and peanut butter mousse - heavenly! My husband had an apricot tart with cream cheese ice cream, also delicious.

Ambiance, service, wine were all terrific. Menu, not so much. I read through the menu 4x and still did not understand what 90% of the items were. I asked the server for a translation and though she tried, it really did nothing to pique my interest. I actually had the thought: "Maybe we should leave". I ordered a SALAD plate and ended up being a beautifully arranged glob of goat cheese with about 3 slices of beet. Not 3 beets, 3 SLICES. Goat cheese is not salad. Next up: gnocchi/mushroom small plate. Presentation was superb. Taste was out of this world. The problem: I could have eaten the entire plate in one single bite. Gnocchi was the size of my pinky nail and there were 6 of them. I spent $100 and went home hungry.
