Beaker & FlaskEclectic menu and cocktailsWent here with our son his girlfriend. Not in tourist area and missed the building a few times. But glad we found it. Very interesting converted warehouse. Friendly staff, knowledgeable and did not rush us. Tried some interesting cocktails and shared a few dishes. Recommend the short rib small plate.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great serviceWe were with out of town friends who were dubious over the menu selections but ended up wowed by the black tea fried chicken. The waiter was very conscientious and arranged to have the pork gravy replaced with butter. I had the short rib which was fantastic. It's small and loud, but worth it for the food... just go early before the crowd really gets going if you are just going for the great food.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFreindly BartenderWhet in for a bite to eat. - it was very quiet night. We just sat at the bar - the bartender was GREAT - very friendly and made us a couple of excellnt cocktails. We just had a salad and the creamy grits with pork and an egg on top - Both weere excellent.
I was surprised how slow it was - maybe because it was a beautiful sunny night and Portlanders want to be outside when it's this nice.
Good spot - Thnaks to the bartender for the great, friendly service.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was absolutely amazing! The food was absolutely amazing! BRAVO CHEF'S. The ONLY downfall to the experience was our waitress. She was very short with us, mumbled and acted as if she was too cool to serve us...which i guess she was, because she only brought our food to the table twice...Good thing EVERYONE else at the restaurant was wonderful and they brought us our food and smiled and talked with us a bit about how our evening and experience was. We will go back, but will make sure we are in a section where that waitress is not working!
Thank you for the wonderful food Beaker and Flask...Rabbit is my new favorite meat:)4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe meat plate was awesome,The meat plate was awesome, the salad we had was great. The service was both sweet and accommodating. They really know what they're doing and they have something for everyone. Their drink list is great, but we didn't get to try anything.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy chef friend recommendedMy chef friend recommended I try out this restaurant and I was blown away. What a gem! The food was an incredible mix of flavors and the people were wonderful. The cocktails were delicious too. I can tell the care that is put into the food and drinks - so nice to see. I will definitely be back and have already recommended this place.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waitress was outstanding. Our waitress was outstanding. Great service. Would highly recommend the beef short rib with yogurt and pistaschio and for dessert the panna cotta with beignets, orange peel, whisky sauce & cherry. Great cocktail menu, lots to choose from. Definitely want to return.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but a little offThe food was delicious, but the presentation and serving sizes were off. The pork belly was two small pieces of pork belly, which is acceptable because it is rich, but they came swimming in this giant bowl of grits. Way too many grits. Another example was the fried chicken, which had this great crispy skin, but was sitting on top of a pile of mashed potatoes. If you didn't take the chicken off the potatoes right away, the skin would get soggy. The cocktails were enjoyable, but not as interesting as I expected.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are food snobs, yet wereWe are food snobs, yet were impressed with the food choices. We actually split an entree (risotto)for our first course, then shared a small plate and another entree. The food was very well seasoned, just the right sized, and plated nicely. We will return.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
