"I think the food is very good and well executed. The Bartender Brandon is great, friendly, approachable and makes great drinks.
The space is nice, not really set up for a long sit-down dining type place.
There is no sing at the building or even at the door which made it difficult to find and once there I was not sure I was actually there.
That was a weird first impression, bt overall a good experience."

"Lack of signage to identify the location was an issue. Service by Jill was fantastic which made a mediocre meal bearable. Hot wings were hard to eat but with a moderately good flavor, the celery accompaniment was sliced thinner than a pencil. My rabbit cassoulet was very dry - no sauce or moisture content at all. Rabbit was way over cooked, but the white beans were for the most part undercooked. The beignet dessert was cinnamon and sugar not powered sugar as one would expect with a traditional beignet, which was fine, except half of them were undercooked so that when you bit into it the crispy outside got you to a soft mush dough on the inside. Very inconsistent food. We did love Jill tho and the ambience is very inviting."

"For our first trip to Portland, my husband and I did an extensive search for great food and craft drinks. Beaker and Flask lived up to their name with top notch drinks. This is not a place to grab a bud lite, or a vodka cranberry. You come here for well-made bourbon, gin, and whiskey drinks ... drinks that have sage, bitters, and other foreign ingredients to the casual drinker.

Service was not that great, but we have not one complaint about the food. My husband ordered the scallop, pork belly, lamb tongue dish (yes, lamb tongue). I had the black tea fried chicken that was packed with flavor. Overall, go for new and interesting menu choices and ask for bartender's choice drink. You won't be disappointed."

"Our visit was during the early evening on a week night; there were a few patrons and moderate noise level. One of our party didn't care for the entree ordered, and the kitchen and server were very accommodating in offering a replacement. The cocktails were excellent. My only concern is that given how few patrons were in the restaurant at the time, it took a long time to get our food. I can imagine that if the place were filled to capacity, you'd want to order your food right up front."

"This place was great, everything we had on the menu was amazing. I wish there were more of us so we could have tried more dishes... I'll be back to Portland if not just for another visit here. So fantastic, one of the top 5 meals of my life."

"This was our third time at B&F, and we've never been disappointed. The cocktail menu is outstanding for a mixology buff like myself -- delicious but not unapproachable. I believe I read that the food menu had changed a bit -- like the drinks, we found the food classy but not pretentious (she had the fried chicken, I had the gnudi). Well done!"
