Public Transit: Our on-site bus stop accesses MBTA service via Woburn, Winchester and Medford Square to Wellington Station.

Parking Details: There is always abundant short-term parking all around us, but if the weather is inclement, many drivers drop off their passengers under the archway at the front door of the restaurant, before parking and proceed to the parking garage where the driver can walk to the restuarant under cover.

"We were given a recommendation about this place and after reading the reviews online we were somewhat hopeful about this place. I got one of the specials which was a leg of lamb, parsnip puree, and peas. I think the only good thing about the dish was the peas! The lamb was smothered in a brown sauce (beef stock?) which basically was the only flavoring. The lamb was flavorless. My fiancee got a braised pork cheek which was not very tender and also was just smothered in barbecue sauce which really took away from the dish all together. I think the one good thing was that the onion rings were at least crispy but the aioli sauce that it came with was pretty bland. I have to say though the service was at least pretty good."

"Service was great! 6:30 reservation enable our waitress Samantha to take care of all our needs , very courteous and understanding. always there but not pushy, Food was average to good. I found the ambiance lacking. It was glass, marble, stainless steel which did not give a warm homey feeling. i was facing the window to the kitchen. first time seeing this and I personally do not care for it.Went to the bar for an after dinner drink and found it the same, lacking ambiance. The only real positive was the staff. Very attentive and professional.."

"This was a very pleasant dining experience. Don't let the location fool you. The Beacon is every bit on par with the finer restaurants in Boston, at a slightly lower price & no parking hassles. Nice decor & Service was exceptional! As it got later it got a bit loud. Our waiter was knowledgeable about entrees & appetizers and we loved his recommendations. Prime Rib end cut was cooked to perfection, rack of lamb perfectly seasoned & delicious! & the Double-cut pork chops & pasta w/shrimp each very good. Lobster bisque is a winner! just a hint of sherry, alot of lobster meat,& served hot! For desert;apple crisp was good, but too much oatmeal topping. Creme Brulee fantastic & a good sized portion. Don't miss the Beacon Ice Cream Sandwich!"

"We've been there several times in the past and the food is excellent, but the restaurant was not prepared to handle the volume of Easter Sunday. We waited more than one hour between appetizers and entrees. The meat portions were smaller than usual and the sides appeared like they were sitting sround all day (i.e. the spinach was soggy and the mac 'n cheese was dry) The staff was pleasant and did their best to keep us updated on the delays."
