A word from Beacon Bar and Grill
Designer Walter Gagliano's second visioning of BBG introduced a fresh, romantic feel to BBG. Vermeer’s portrait of “Girl with a Pearl Earring” was the muse in creating a new look. “Our original goal was to bring the space to a cleaner more contemporary vibe. When we discovered the over scaled Vermeer print, originally created by Philipe Stark, our fondness for bold romanticism found expression and led our fabric and lighting choices in a different direction" stated Gagliano.
Chef Dylyn Coolide introduces a menu that balances his own personal flair and beliefs with the wants and needs of our guests. Clean lines, bright flavors, and unique combinations best describe his culinary style. Menu items are influenced by the seasons in conjunction with local farmers and purveyors. Just like our clientele, our cuisine represents a fusion between regional and global influences. Chef Coolidge's goal is to give a truly pleasant and graceful dining experience in a casual, elegant setting.

  • "This was my first time and will definitely not be my last. Service was excellent, food was hot and fresh. All items were restocked as soon as they were running low, all staff was helpful and made sure we enjoyed our meal. The price and the quality of service and food are impeccable."

  • "Great food, service and ambiance. I've always loved their brunch. I would strongly recommend others to go there."

  • "I decided to take my family to Beacon so that we may celebrate my mother's 50th birthday. The entire group which included 8 adults and 2 children enjoyed themselves. The food was amazing. The service was so great there was honestly nothing we complain about. We only hoped that there were food that appealed to children just as much as it did for the adults. Regardless, this will not deter me from coming back. I honestly love this place! Put it on your "places to go" list."

  • "My partner and I went to Beacon for brunch. Saturday brunch was not as crowded as Sunday. It was buffet, but very good and bottomless Mimosas don't hurt."

  • "Other than being noisy, the restaurant was fine and we enjoyed our bruch."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "Brunch was fine, but in a city like DC with many brunch options, fine is just ok. I think it's a little pricey for the selection of food, but unlimited mimosas helps. I might go back."

  • "Our server, Desi, was amazing. She was very attentive, friendly, and professional. The food was very good and the variety was impressive."

  • "Upon entering, we had to wait ten minutes for a hostess to come to seat us. Despite the fact of asking a waiter if he could get someone to seat us. Once we were seated, the service was pretty good."

  • "This was my first in DC and I was in DC to celebrate my birthday. This restaurant was recommended by a friend. I loved the food, the service & overall feel was great. I'm going to tell EVERYONE I know to go. It was $30 for buffet brunch, unlimited mimosa and unlimited tequila sunrise. It was worth the price. I do not usually like buffet style, but I did not mind it at this restaurant. They were very clean, the food stayed hot and the guys cooking the omelets and waffles were so nice. Again, I loved this place and will be going back when I visit the DC area again."

  • "It had been a while since I dined here. The mushroom quesadillas were pretty good, but that was about it on the positive side. A few in our group were less than impressed with the steaks (dry, even though medium rare), wings, and sauces (tasted like bottled varieties, not made in house as one might expect here). It was okay, but with nobody raving about anything they had for dinner, I'm not looking to return."

  • "This was my second visit to this place. I am coming from NYC . First time i went at 10 AM and it was just after they opened, they have full buffet, but this time i went at 2 pm and half of buffet was gone. They dont replenish dishes that are gone. i did not want eggs at 2 PM so choices for food were limited. There were only 1/2 of salads at this time. The good part they give champagne no limits. LOL."

  • "We went for Father's Day, so I assumed it was more crowded than usual. They ran out of a few things quickly but they replenished as quickly as they could. The food was great, the people were pleasant, and the staff was friendly."

  • "I went here with a party of 9 on Father's Day. We arrived about twenty minutes early of our reservation and were seated immediately upon arriving. The service was really quite well - our drinks were constantly refilled and our requests were accommodated appropriately. The brunch buffet had everything you would expect and some things you wouldn't. Overall, it was really good. The quality of the food was good and everything I personally had was delicious. Some of the members of my party advised they were not fond of the dessert selection; I didn't partake in that, so I have nothing to comment, but there were plenty of other things to make-up for that potentially negative aspect. Overall a good choice for brunch - we would definitely go again."

  • "I went to Beacon Bar & Grill for Father's Day brunch and had a great time. When we arrived for our reservation at 11:30am we were still waiting for 2 of our guests, but the management was so kind and accommodating and allowed us to sit at our table. We enjoyed the food and the service was good. This is my third time coming here and I have not been disappointed yet and I would recommend this place."

  • "This was such a great choice for a birthday brunch celebration. Our waiter was very attentive to our lively party of 7. The food was good and my bottomless mimosa was indeed that! Also, the after-party on the roof was an awesome addition to the festivities."

  • "I had a great time at this restaurant. The waitress was outstanding, kind and consistent. Our table was never cluttered and our glasses were never empty. We definitely got our monies worth. The only complaint that I have is our dining area was smokey because we were sitting behind the omelet station."

  • "I was at the Beacon a couple of weeks ago for brunch and our server was Alina. I was blown away by her attentiveness and just overall attention. The second time around was no different. The makes my experience for brunch all the better by never allowing my glass to be empty. I will personally request her every time I go back. She's that great."

  • "I really enjoyed the Sunday Brunch which is always a nice outing during the spring/summer time except this past Sunday I was welcomed at the Beacon with poor customer service from multiple employees. I first noticed the 2 hosts were denying sitting parties until all party members showed up at the location, this isn't uncommon but it was how the host relayed his message which was rude. One host was short & the other tall, the short host was extremely short and snubbed customers while the taller host seemed to be extremely friendly. I also noticed while waiting for entire party to show up, 3 servers walk through the entrance doors without holding the door open or they would walk through the door without holding the door open for customers. "

  • "I celebrated my birthday and the everything was perfect. I have no complaints at all! The food was amazing the drinks were delicious. All of my guests had a great time. I definitely have plans of going back because it was just a great atmosphere for my friends and I to get together have some good food and great drinks and enjoy each others company. The best part was the bill! For the amount of food, drinks, and the great service we got, the price point was perfect. "

  • "My sister brought me here for my 21st birthday brunch, and we were not disappointed. The drinks were plentiful, and the staff were great. This restaurant had the best waffles I have ever tasted ( with freshly whipped cream), and the best cheesecake. 36 dollars is truly a bargain for everything you get at this brunch place - no wonder that it is one of the most popular brunches in DC!"

  • "This was supposed to be a nice brunch for family after daughters college graduation it was awful from time we walked through the door it was absolutely awful a guy at the desk was yelling at another employee the food was awful kept running out of plates and food and asked about more food employees were very rude with response! Would never go back wished we would of walked out from beginning!"

  • "Extremely disappointed at Sunday Brunch. Poorly managed crowds and dishes that looked mass-produced as if for a college dorm or inexpensive cruise ship line. Way too many people made fighting through the herds necessary to get food (which looked unappealing and picked over by aggressive diners). While one of the reception hosts was accommodating due to my injury, the others seemed frazzled and more like TSA officers than warm hospitality greeters."

  • "Buffet is the only option and is about $40pp, which I wasn't aware of when booking. But it was a delicious brunch!"

  • "The menu was really interesting and crowd-pleasing for everyone, and we had kids, dieticians, meat-lovers, and a whole variety of preferences. Service was great, and it was a fun environment. So glad we went. "

  • "Brunch was great, was a tex-mex theme, which was a pleasant surprise. However, we were not aware that the buffet was the only dining option for brunch - as a brunch menu is posted online and we were there on a Saturday morning. We would have preferred some of the ala carte options as well, rather than the bottomless brunch being the only option - as none of our party drink alcohol, so it wasn't a huge value for us."

  • "I always look forward to lunch at Beacon Grill: It's quiet enough to carry on a conversation, the seating is comfortable (especially downstairs), and the food is dependable. The special grilled cheese sandwich is delicious, and I especially enjoy having a choice between fries, fruit, or salad on the side. The one disappointment was that the downstairs area was closed for a private function. Upstairs (in the bar area), it was hot and the seating was cramped. But that won't keep me away: Next time I'll check on the availability of the area downstairs!"

  • "The brunch served is a wide variety and typically good. Warm food in addition to traditional breakfast. There didn't seem to be enough staff on for mothers day :("

  • "We enjoyed our Mother's Day brunch here. It began with the friendly and accommodating staff greeting us and assisting my mother, who has trouble walking, to our conveniently located table. They thought of everything! The seating was timed perfectly for all to access the delicious buffet quickly. There was never a long line, as we have experienced at some brunch buffets in the area. The freshly made waffles and omelettes were perfect, along with the crispy bacon, fresh fruit, shrimp and more. Also, the serving trays were always replenished as needed. Beacon is definitely on our favorites list and we highly recommend for any occasion."

  • "Enjoyed a large family gathering for Mother's Day at Beacon. There are so many choices of traditional (eggs, omelets, waffles) and non-traditional (beet apple salad, dim sum) that there is something for everyone. Ask to be seated near buffet because climbing stairs is not always easy while carrying your plate of food. Bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's we're delicious too. "

  • "Went with a huge group to celebrate a special occasion. The big windows were great but it was surprisingly empty for a weekend dinner. Food was okay... in retrospect should have remembered this was a hotel restaurant. I'd been here for Happy Hour and that's probably the only reason I'll return."

  • "We choose this place after searching for best Saturday brunch in DC. My mother was thoroughly pleased with the food, service, and the most important part of any brunch, the mimosas. We were a little late for our reservation, but we called and told them and it was no problem. Definitely going to try this place again!"
