A word from Beacon Bar and Grill
Designer Walter Gagliano's second visioning of BBG introduced a fresh, romantic feel to BBG. Vermeer’s portrait of “Girl with a Pearl Earring” was the muse in creating a new look. “Our original goal was to bring the space to a cleaner more contemporary vibe. When we discovered the over scaled Vermeer print, originally created by Philipe Stark, our fondness for bold romanticism found expression and led our fabric and lighting choices in a different direction" stated Gagliano.
Chef Dylyn Coolide introduces a menu that balances his own personal flair and beliefs with the wants and needs of our guests. Clean lines, bright flavors, and unique combinations best describe his culinary style. Menu items are influenced by the seasons in conjunction with local farmers and purveyors. Just like our clientele, our cuisine represents a fusion between regional and global influences. Chef Coolidge's goal is to give a truly pleasant and graceful dining experience in a casual, elegant setting.

As a regular on the Sunday brunch scene in DC, I have found a gem in the Beacon Bar and Grill! Once again, BBG delivered good food, great seating and outstanding service as provided by Edgar and Olga under the impeccable leadership of Kamran. And don't forget to try a made-to-order omelette from the best omelette chefs in the city! Thanks to all!

While the menu is not extensive there is a great variety. From wonderful fish tacos to succulent wild boar sausage, there was something that appealed to everyone's tastes. The service was very attentive. A quiet place where the 6 of us could comfortably talk over dinner. With 1/2 bottles of wine when we dined, we took advantage of the fine wine list!

Made a reservation for brunch only to get there and be told the bar would not be replenished anymore. Whatever was out was all there would be. I was offered an opportunity to go have a look but I chose not to stay and to dine elsewhere. It was a huge inconvenience and I will not chose this place again.

Everyone in my group was a little leary when I stated it was a buffet. However that quickly changed when they arrived. Thr ambiance, the mixing bowl of people and menagerie of food options even made the one vegetarian feel at home. I quickly gained cool points and praises from them all!!

In 2009 I stumbled upon The Beacon Bar and Grill. The food was good and I scored an awesome parking space. Parking this trip almost made me walk away from the reservation. 40 minutes to find parking on a very cold Sunday, with a toddler. After a space opened at the hotel garage, we finally made it in. The food was enjoyable. Everyone enjoys a custom made omelet. Some of the salads were a little strange, but worth a try. It would be lovely if they started serving turkey or chicken sausage so that patrons had options. Despite the parking, I would definitely recommend the restaurant for brunch. I suggest calling the hotel and arriving early to find parking.

Took my folks (visiting from CT) here for brunch a couple weeks ago. When we first walked in, there were multiple staff members crowded in the entry way just milling around. After being seated we were immediately given a rundown of the drink options and sent to the buffet. The service throughout the meal was spotty at times, which is surprising considering there was constantly multiple waiters standing at the reception desk. Besides that, we all really enjoyed the food options. All the different seasonal salads were spot on and I loved the hot buffet. One ask, have cheese! I love cheese!

The food and service were ok. A good option for a casual dining experience. I had ordered the pumkin and guacamole tortilla soup. Could not taste or see a trace of pumkin. One of my guests asked for onion relish to be left off. The dish came smothered in onions on top. Just some minor tweeting would go a long way

We stopped in for a quick bit before a Nat Geo show on a Wednesday night. Escorted through the louder bar area to the much quieter restaurant. Great appetizer menu--went with three items instead of entrees. All were timely and delicious; naan bread was the best. Specialty drinks were a little pricy, but it's downtown DC. Looking forward to going back for Saturday or Sunday brunch.

This was our first time at Beacon, celebrating our anniversary. A wide variety of foods to choose from, assorted cold salads, pastas, meats, omelets made to order and waffles and chicken. I especially like the fact the waffles were small as opposed to one big one. Unlimited champagne, mimosas or bloody marys, decent coffee. They also had a DJ which was an unexpected surprise, the music was a nice, not too loud or offensive in its selection. The also offered a nice selection of desserts. We set downstairs which is easily accessible to the buffet but it was such a nice day, we would have preferred to sit upstairs with windows.

I was really happy to be able to even get a table during a busy hour during Sunday brunch. That's about the extent of my happiness with this dining experience, though. The food was decent, but not excellent. Bottomless mimosas are nice...if you aren't on-call and need to act fast in an emergency. The service was decent, but nothing to write home about. While I was pleased with the availability of a table, I think I would have been happier just waiting a couple hours for a Founding Farmers table instead.

Hello, I have eaten at Beacon Bar and Grill several times, with great satisfaction; however, this time I was disappointed. The food has gone way downhill from when I was last there. About two years ago. The champagne and vodka are beyond cheap brands and the crowd leaves something to be desired. The only plus was good fresh waffles and a lovely server. Otherwise, totally disappointing.

The brunch buffet was vast and diverse and way above average for buffet fare. And fresh omelets were made to order. And the lemon bar dessert was a treat. However, the over $30 and no menu options was overly steep. . Especially for those who went without the mimosas or marys.
