A word from Beacon Bar and Grill
Designer Walter Gagliano's second visioning of BBG introduced a fresh, romantic feel to BBG. Vermeer’s portrait of “Girl with a Pearl Earring” was the muse in creating a new look. “Our original goal was to bring the space to a cleaner more contemporary vibe. When we discovered the over scaled Vermeer print, originally created by Philipe Stark, our fondness for bold romanticism found expression and led our fabric and lighting choices in a different direction" stated Gagliano.
Chef Dylyn Coolide introduces a menu that balances his own personal flair and beliefs with the wants and needs of our guests. Clean lines, bright flavors, and unique combinations best describe his culinary style. Menu items are influenced by the seasons in conjunction with local farmers and purveyors. Just like our clientele, our cuisine represents a fusion between regional and global influences. Chef Coolidge's goal is to give a truly pleasant and graceful dining experience in a casual, elegant setting.

  • "My partner and I decided to go to Beacon Bar and Grill fro brunch because he had never been before. We got seated right away and the bottomless mimosas kept flowing. The food was very good and the variety of food was great."

  • "Quintessential brunch place. Lots of good food, nothing overwhelming, but nothing to complain about."

  • "I enjoyed the food and bottomless mimosas. I recommend requesting seating away from the bar."

  • "I went in with high expectations after reading reviews of Beacon online. The food was just ok. Nothing we ordered asking ten people stood out as something we'd want to have again. The service was really lacking. The server didn't bother to bring silverware with our desserts, but managed to bring lots of pens when he brought the check. We asked for hot sauce, which never came, and had to ask another server to bring boxes, since our server never returned after we asked for them. I almost gave it 3 stars because the Saturday brunch seems like a good deal- $26.95 for an appetizer, entree, dessert, and unlimited mimosas or Bloody Marys- but there are much better places in town with similar deals, such as Farmers, Fishers, Bakers or Zengo."

  • "Just so you know - Sunday brunch is ONLY Buffet / all-you-can eat&drink style.... We went because we had a large group and they were taking recommendations, but we had not done the research to know it's only buffet on Sunday (I had previously been on a saturday, where you can order off the menu). We were all too hungover to drink, and the total came out to $48 for sub-par food and maybe one drink each... waste of money. Atmosphere is pretty good though ! (especially sitting at circle tables with a big group)"

  • "The ONLY Sunday brunch for special occasions. The best Sunday brunch in DC!"
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "A little pricy but worthwhile. Excellent service by the staff. The brunch has a lot of great options whether you're feeling like breakfast or lunch. The buffet options do rotate, though, so it's worth checking the menu beforehand if you're fiending for something specific."

  • "Our server was very nice, but slow, inattentive and not knowledgable about the menu. We ordered the pumpkin bisque and the cinnamon roll to start (the soup was good, the roll was nothing special) and both came out cold. We told the server, who took them back to the kitchen. Instead of giving us new items, she just microwaved the bowl of soup and the cinnamon roll (the strawberries on the plate were reduced to hot mush). The bubba benedict was tasty, but again, was barely warm. The huevos rancheros had great flavor as well, but the overcooked steak was extremely gristly (could not eat half of it). Eventually we spoke to a manager, who comped our appetizers; but overall, it was not a good experience, and I definitely will not return."

  • "Food was better at previous visits. The fried chicken is important for My group of friends and it was not present;( However, it is always a great experience."

  • "This was one of the best brunches I have been to in years! Great selections of wonderful food for everyone. I will definitely be making this a monthly tradition."

  • "Bottomless Mimosas & Brunch (need I say more?)! It was a fun first time experience - from drinks to food - I enjoyed a three course meal for under $30 and unlimited mimosa refills. The interior design was exotic and enjoyed the atmosphere although it is inside a hotel."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "we were there for Brunch and they didn't have an option for under 21(unless they are under 8) and folks not drinking alcohol. One price fit all and I don't think that is fair for those with children between 8 and 20 and designated drivers/non-drinkers. Food was great though!"

  • "I came here with friends for the Saturday brunch and had a fantastic time! We ordered the mimosas and our server Angel was excellent at filling them up frequently! The mimosas were the best I had because it was not too much orange juice. Our food was very tasty! I cannot wait to go back!"
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "The mimosas are the reason we came for the first time, but I would definitely come back again as the food was all fresh and excellent. Fluffy waffles, made to order omelettes, tasty dim sum, and a dessert section to die for. Very worth it!"

  • "The service was extremely slow and the food was only mediocre."

  • "our server Desi never let out mimosa glasses run dry. she was very attentive and friendly ! food was constantly being refilled in the breakfast brunch and there was an amazing selection of desserts, breakfast items and salads. very good fried chicken and bisuits. for bottomless mimosas, bloody marys and champagne this is worth the 35.00 PP"

  • "On Sunday, a group of 10 attended Beacon for their brunch and bottomless mimosas. I really liked the wide variety of food options. Additionally, the server, Lem Lem, was amazing. She was always two steps ahead, ensuring that we were pleased with our dining experiences and keeping our champagne glasses full. My group was so pleased with her service and the food that we agreed to come back at least one Sunday per month."

  • "I've been to Beacon on several occasions for brunch and with various crowds. The service is great--got seated in a timely fashion and my glass was barely empty before receiving refills. BUT the buffet/food offering is just okay. I feel like every time I go there's different items but not super tasty. I love variety and change but it needs to be a good one."

  • "The food was very good. The wait staff was okay, but not bad. it could be quite noisy."

  • "Initially when we arrived we had 3 people there out of our party of 4 however the restaurant would not seat us. I could not understand this because we still would need a table that seats four even if it were only three people. Finally after standing around for a while and looking hungry and sad, they decided to seat us. We can't help that some of our friends aren't as conscious of the time as we are. Other than that, it was great, they kept pouring the endless mimosas. The waffle line was a little long but the experience was very nice, I would definitely go back."

  • "Beautiful brunch buffet with bottomless brunch drinks, a great place for brunch with a large group, or a small group as well."
    Dined on 3/2/2014
  • "They were very accommodating for tardiness and number adjustments of our party. The food was great and they were on top of changing out items to keep the mass happy. Our server was attentive but not pushy. Overall a great brunch experience."

  • "It was ours first time, so we didn't really know what to expect. There was a good selection of food and we didn't have to wait for our glasses to be refilled with mimosa. Service was fantastic. The only downside is parking! Forget about on street parking, valet parking was also full. We ended up parking at one of those parking garages for $18 for 2 hours, so metro or cab is the answer."
    Dined on 2/23/2014
  • "This was my first time a Beacon, but I was overall impressed with spread. For about $40.00/person you can get unlimited mimosas and the buffet. The Buffet was a good size with a large selection, but definitely not the largest I've seen. The service was quite good, they cleared plates quickly and refilled mimosas timely. I would be a repeat offender here, however after traveling to quite a few international hotels there were some things lacking such as the following: Juice Bar (there was none that I could see) Milk or Yogurt bar Larger selection of fruit Served Tea Design of buffet was a bit awkward, with a circle in the middle and then a perimeter with two of the main waffle and omelet stations led to congestion."

  • "Absolutely fantastic Sunday brunch! The Breakfast Lasagna (who knew?) was crazy good. The fried chicken was deliciously crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The lox was spot-on, as were all of the salads (there were many of them, they were strange (e.g., mandarin oranges and cucumbers and red onion), and they were delicious). And the waffles, oh my lord, the waffles. I don't even LIKE waffles, usually, but these were delightful in every way (with fresh whipped cream!). The waiter, Angel, was pleasantly attentive and provided lots of refills for our bottomless mimosas. The coffee was surprisingly good and was served piping hot. The space itself was bright and attractive, with nifty decor."

  • "Thanks to Beacon Bar and Grill, I had a successful birthday brunch! They were very accomodating and kind. My friend complained about the waffle size and they were very nice about it and gave her the rest of it. If you follow them on twitter, you can get 18%0ff of your order! They were also very generous with the mimosas!"

  • "The food was pretty good but the ambiance was not good and I don't think I'd go back. Not relaxing, server wasn't the best, and the restaurant felt a bit dirty and messy."

  • "My extended family and I are no strangers to the Beacon. We've done Mother's Day, Birthday's, and just regular ol days there. This time it was my 37th birthday. I booked a party of 12 for brunch and only 8 showed up. The staff was more than understanding and still sat us right away. I thought there would be a brunch buffet but I found out that only happens on Sunday. Oh well, the banana pecan pancakes, kale salad and endless mimosas were still great. One of our party members is a long time patron of the Beacon and knows the staff by name. They came by with gracious greetings and hugs. I love this place!"

  • "The Valentine's Day at Beacon was awesome. They served a pre-fixe that was very affordable for people at all income levels. The free flowing champagne was excellent and the service was great. I had the chicken and mashed potatoes, which were great. My girlfriend had the vegetarian option, which was a key reason why we chose to eat there. I hope that Beacon offers a similar deal for other occasions, especially Valentine's Day."

  • "The ambience was great. Free flowing champagne and a tasty four course meal. The only reason I didn't give them five stars was because of a slight mix up with the order. They brought another table's order, but quickly corrected it. Transition between the courses was well paced. Can't wait to try their brunch!"

  • "Food was delicious!! We ordered dinner off the "small plates" menu, but let me tell you that the plates where not small!!!! Everything was delicious! We can't wait to go back!! What a hidden gem in DC. So well priced and so yummy!!!! You must try the nachos, wings and ribs!!!"

  • "The choices on the special menu were nicely varied, and the food was fantastic. Best beef wellington I have ever had, and the new England clam chowder was excellent. Wine choice was limited, but service was very attentive and friendly."

  • "Celebrated my best friend's birthday here for Saturday brunch. It was amazing! Initialy nervous because I had never been there. Only read reviews and thought it'd be a good choice before we did the touristy thing that Saturday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised and going back. Servicce was excellent. Out waitress was so friendly as she expalined how it works and checked on us througout without being overbearing. Hostess was superbly nice and accomodating also. We dined at several places this past weekend, and this was our favorite all things considered. Best money spent all weekend. And worth every penny. Awesome champagne Mimosas that were constantly being refilled. It was great, great great!"

  • "I had Saturday brunch here with a friend. We both chose the 3-course + bottomless mimosa option. I enjoyed a salad, the farm fresh omlette and the tiramisu. No complaints on anything. The salad may have actually been my favorite as there were so many different toppings, all healthy, that made it interesting. My friend has the pumpkin coconut bisque, huevos rancheros, and also tiramisu. She enjoyed everything she ordered as well. The overall decor was lovely. Upscale but still relaxed. My only complaint was that the 'bottomless' mimosas took a bit of time to get refilled. There were a few times where my glass was empty and I was waiting on the waiter to come refill."

  • "I was disappointed with my recent visit. The food was subpar and the descriptions are not very good. This quinoa, kale salad they speak of came with literally 3 pieces of kale and ice berg lettuce. We returned the food for having hair in it once. We saw hairs 2 other times during the brunch but did not report it. Unlimited mimosas. A joke. Service was really slow so you can't really take advantage of unlimited anything. One hair in food is a mistake. 3 times on three different items is a health concern."
