Everything from on time for reservation seating to service, to food coming out timely and was delicious! Would recommend for everyone and anyone. Expect some noise and energy. Had a grumpy old man next to us that kept growling at us because we were laughing and enjoying ourselves. We were in no way too loud. He must of been having a bad day. What do you expect from 6+ woman at lunch :)

Incredible view, incredible food, incredible service...what more could you ask for? I've only come here for breakfast. My advice, which you shouldn't ignore, - get the beignets! My favorite breakfast here is the traditional eggs benedict with a side of Portugese sausage. The pancakes are darn good too. Every time I've been the service has been extraordinarily attentive. The only negative is that some of the tables are very close together which prohibits private conversation.

It isn't easy to get to - parking, shuttle bus - but worth the effort for beachside drinks. We went for cocktails and stayed for a very average meal, but food isn't the attraction here. The martini flag at sunset is a fun tradition.

Whether it's your first or thirty first time, Beachcomber Cafe is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening with great friends, family, or that special date. It might also be a great secret because I've lived in Orange County all my life and I never heard of this place until a friend told me. The beachside cafe is great with an outdoor patio facing the ocean. You could make a whole day out of it. Go to the Crystal Cove and explore, get a bite to eat at Beachcombers, and then walk a few steps and enjoy some sun at the beach. he food is delicious, friendly staff, and top it off with one of their delicious cocktails. The Kobe Burger is so delicious. And the Ahi burger just melts in your mouth, so moist and tasty. The Mahi Mahi Tacos are an excellent choice too where you can enjoy the food and not feel guilty that it was bad for you. In fact, it's probably one of the most delicious healthy choices on any menu I've had at a burger eatery. And you don't have to worry about dress code here, after all it is at the beach. I would recommend that you try it once if you haven't ever been here. And you'll be like me, hooked for life. In less than three months, I've been here three times. Can't wait to come back.

I brought friends who have never dined at the Beachcomber and they were all very impressed. Loved the food, and, of course the view! One issue....I had two people with me who were elderly and needed accessible parking. In order to park in an accessible space, it costs $15. I thought this was outrageous, considering the two people who truly needed accessible parking were unable to navigate the beachcomber shuttle. I know this is not the Beachcombers policy, it's the States...but those in most need should know what the consequences are before before trying to park close to the restaurant. The State of Cakifornia should be ashamed of itself....

We were really looking forward to meeting our friends there last weekend. Indeed the arrival is fun, and the location is stellar. They even have blankets to throw over you legs, to keep you cozy and warm. But the food was inexcusably mediocre. Service was good, but the deck was only about 1/3 full, and no one sat inside. All of our salads were delicious; my wedge salad was the best if have ever had, due to the bacon and the dressing. But three of our four main courses were way over cooked. Two of us had a lobster special, that should have been tender enough to cut with a fork, but was tough and rubbery. The accompanying sauce was not the creamy broth we had been told to expect, but a pasty reddish indistinguishable slathering. My husband's swordfish was borderline inedible, with a very gamey odor and taste., and it too was over cooked. He did not eat it. The forth entree , scallops were cooked perfectly. The price is high, and we get that based on the location. But, when I am paying over $100 pp, all in, I expect the food to be flavorful and cooked properly. Great location, Sadly, we will not go back, nor recommend it.

I've lived in SoCal over 50 years, been to Crystal Cove a dozen times, and just discovered this place last month...all those missed dining opportunities, sigh. The food here is incredible, best fish tacos I've ever had. Service is top notch, staff have great personalities, & recommendations have been spot on. As you devour the ahi and crab appetizer you get to watch the waves crash on the sand just a few feet away, at almost eye level. First time here we had to wait about an hour so we wandered around the beach cottages and went to the visitor's center to learn about the history of this quaint little cove. Second time we used Open Table and walked right in. We will definitely be back often and look forward to trying the Bloody Mary's for brunch.

Took,a doggy bag home with half the sandwich. Fish tacos were fresh and yummy. Will definitely return especially with out of town guests!

I brought a friend visiting from Australia. We enjoyed the food and service immensely, the scallops were perfectly cooked, and the clam chowder was excellent as usual. however the noise level was horrendous we could not hear ourselves talking at all. Because the weather was cool the verandah had been enclosed. The heaters were a blessing. I will remember in future only to go in the summer months when the verandah is open.

One of the specials for the evening was Sea Bass. No flavor, actually it tasted like cod. Also, tried the scallops. While they were cooked great they lacked flavor. Sea Bass was about $36 and definitely not worth it. Scallops were about $26 and again too pricey for what was served. Just cannot recommend this restaurant.

Our second time eating here we are from Texas. Our waiter was very nice from Boston originally. Brought our sons here to eat. They are real foodies. The oldest said to me that he was real surprised by the quality of the food there. He said by just it's appearance he would not have thought that the food coming out of the kitchen matched the surroundings.(something to that effect).

Great dining experience and got right in due to an earlier online reservation. Even though we had reservations, we did have to wait longer than I expected. I think we waited about 15 minutes. It was a bit cooler than I expected that day on the outdoor patio dining even though it was lunch time. But everything else was good. I was a bit disappointed that in my reservations, I had noted that it was a birthday celebration and I had mentioned it to one of the servers (not our table servers because she wasn't around) regarding the birthday celebration. I asked the other server to let our server know. But our server brought the check and there was no special birthday song at our table like there were at the other table. Since they already brought the check, I felt it was too late to tell the server about it.

I have been to the Beachcomber 5 times. Yes, it's a FABULOUS location and we always take people from out of town but…it's too pricey for what you get. I had the Ahi Tuna salad this visit and for the price, it just wasn't enough food. The tuna was warm and a little overcooked and it's on top of some greens with wontons but it just wasn't what you would expect for the price. I would almost recommend eating at Ruby's on PCH and then going down to the Beachcomber for a drink rather than a meal.
