This is a wonderful place to dine located right on the beach. Watching the sun go down and the stars come out while candles and warmers light up the table, they even have blankets on the chairs in case you get cold. The food was excellent (you must have the Potatoes Gratin - unbelievable), service excellent. Park at the Crystal Cove Los Trancos lot and take the shuttle over to the restaurant and beach ($1 each way). The $15 parking fee is waived when you eat at the Beachcomber.

I usually bring out of town guests here for the experience of the resturant on the beach. The prices are a little high for the food. Customer Service is okay but not over the top. I have made several reservations through Open Table but never seem to get that table up front with the scenic view.

The food does not have to be good at this restaurant as you are right on the sand at Crystal Cove and the view is magnificent. Yet the food is indeed good. Standard breakfast fare and a few different items such as beignets. So glad that reservations can now be made on Open Table for this little cottage beach cafe.

Beachcomber Cafe is a favorite place for us. Our sister and brother-in-law from No. Carolina were visiting and requested we all go there again. They love the Cove as well as your restaurant. The food was delicious, service friendly and timely and the weather beautiful. Brother-in-law is a Phd in Biology as well as an amateur photographer and loved the opportunity to stroll the beach after lunch and take photographs of the birds and local scenery.

It was a nice evening....Except....I was seated on one of the benches and it was roasting hot, we asked for the heat lamps to be turned off and the bus guy said they were turned off, he said it was so hot due to some kind of generator under the benches.....this was not acceptable heat wise so I had to move. Food was good and server so-so, we had to ask for more water, another wine, etc.

We've been coming here for several years for lunch and dinner. Finally made it for breakfast and ordered their legendary beignets. Piping hot, melt-in-your mouth decadence! (Probably enough for 4 if you're ordering breakfast.) Breakfast was tasty, but the a nance is the star. This isn't a table with a water view; it's a table on the beach, salt air, and waves crashing on the sand 50 feet away. What a way tostada the day!

My sister and I chose Beachcomber based on the location and recommendations from a few friends. We wanted to spend the day at the beach, relax and then have a wonderful dinner by the water. We rented beach chairs and an umbrella, and the attendants were so helpful. The guy even anchored our umbrella into the sand for us. The ocean is extremely turquoise blue at this location- unlike most beaches in OC. The view was amazing. Then we just moved a few feet to the deck of the restaurant and got a table with the ocean still in view. We ate luscious sea scallops to the roar of sunset waves and enjoyed every single minute of our adventure. I highly recommend the Beachcomber, but I hope not too many of you read this!

We have heard so many great things about this place we decided to wait until we had a celebration to dine there. We had 4 different servers because of break schedules. We went at 4:30pm thinking we could order off the dinner menu but that wasn't available until after 5pm and our two kids were too hungry to wait. My $15 burger was overcooked and dried out. My daughters chicken fingers were not even edible. The best part of the meal was the s'mores dessert. $70+ for two sandwiches, 2 kids meals, 2 non alcoholic beverages, and a dessert. We have no desire to ever dine here again.

Recently visited the Beachcomber on two consecutive weekends for breakfast. I've definitely seen a great improvement in the service since my last time there. After several previous visits last year, I almost wasn't going to go back because of poor service. Finally, they have great service to match the excellent food and the amazing location. This place is unique. Don't miss it.

I've been here several times now and have enjoyed all of my visits. It's a very small place with limited seating, so sometimes you might have to wait a bit. One time we brought our beach things and after getting our names on the waiting list we set up the umbrella's and towels and relaxed. When our transponder notified us that they were ready for us, we left our things and went over to have a great breakfast! You can't beat the views and the servers are all so friendly as well as the rest of the staff. After our great meal, back to the beach. It's like being on a mini vacation. Just LOVE this place! Thank you Beachcomber for making your place a very special experience ;-)

The only available reservation was for 3:45 and the place was half-full. We parked at the the state park lot. We walked sown to the beach through a tunnel that goes under Hwy 1. It was decorated with earth day murals. We sat on the deck and had a lovely lunch; the skinny margarita was good as was the crab stack. Others in the group had fish tacos and the ahi salad. For a small fee we took the bus back to the parking lot after we ate. Would go again, just need to make the reservation much earlier for an evening seating.

My friend and I split a sandwich so we could share beinets for dessert. The waitress asked if we would like her to split the meal for us or if we'd like to do it ourselves and we requested that she do it. Then she didn't-why did she ask, I wondered. She paid no attention to the fact that our ice tea glasses needed refills and although I asked for more, she still ignored it. I had to ask another waitress.
