  • "I had the best Lamb I have had in a long time! Everyone at our table loved their choices. Our servers were so nice and able to joke with us as well.Dessert was the only thing we weren't crazy about,we had the ice cream sandwich which was very dry. Wine was lovey! I tried Sweet meats for the first time "

  • "Lovely place in the French Quarter....lived up to its reputation. Great food and wonderful service. We were a group of old friends and stayed a very long time.....we were welcome and not hurried at all....a wonderful experience...."

  • "My friends and I had noon reservations. Some of us were extremely early, but we were still seated and served drinks while we awaited the rest of the party. Although it took the others almost an hour to arrive (finding parking in the French Quarter on the weekends can be brutal - my advice is to park in one of the CBD lots and take the streetcar), the staff never rushed us. Scott and Scott were an amazing team. They made my birthday brunch fabulous. I look forward to returning!!!"

  • "We are foodies, there is no doubt about it and after living in New Orleans for just over two and a half years, we made it for dinner at Bayona. Wow, the food and the service and the ambiance were all outstanding. Our server was very friendly and we had everything we needed when we needed it. We shared the Spanish Grilled Octopus and the combination of flavors of red pepper, olive etc was superb. Then we each had a pork chop on pimento grits, with sauteed brussels sprouts and onion rings, oh my, the flavors of all of that was outstanding too. I'm hoping to come back for another special occasion, and perhaps try lunch out in the courtyard too."

  • "The meal started with a plate of various pickled vegetables. The brine was very vinegared and we both were hesitant to eat these, afraid to ruin our palates. We ordered the trio of duck- actually we only counted two preparations. One of which was duck bruschetta. When we pointed out to our server the slices of bread was burnt, he replied that is was only "charred". The veal sweetbreads with lemon caper sauce was fine but, quite frankly, a bit overdone. The peppered lamb loin with goat cheese and zinfandel sauce was very good but by this time our server seemed frightened to approach us and the evening was certainly not what we expected. We will not return, there are a lot of newer chefs doing much better things in this town. "

  • "Very limited menu. Took forever to get our meal. There are much better choices out there!"

  • "I took a close friend of mine out to Bayona's for her birthday. It happens to be a favorite spot of hers. Actually, a favorite restaurant of my husband's and mine. Always a great menu whether for lunch or dinner. I've never been disappointed, and would highly recommend it. "

  • "My husband and I found the perfect place for a romantic evening with amazing food and ambiance. The staff was excellent and very informed. Loved the quiet back patio with cocktails as we waited for our table to be ready. Reminiscent of my time in Italy. Highly recommend for a quiet evening with friends or a loved one. "

  • "My husband and I felt the meal was lackluster. The green tomato pie with crawfish remoulade was completely overwhelmed by the sautéed onions and the crust was stiff. The grilled Flank Iron Steak was fatty and tough. I regret not sending it back. My husband enjoyed the rabbit special main course but was underwhelmed by the quail starter. It was the most disappointing dinner of our five night stay in New Orleans. I would not recommend. "

  • "My second time to dine at Bayona and it was just as good as several years ago. Interesting combination of flavors, good service and of course, the ambience was perfect. No problems here with recommending it to others."

  • "Unfortunately, the best part of this restaurant was the wine."

  • "We have dined in this restaurant a half a dozen times in the past and had a nice time. This time was totally different because the atmosphere was just dull. The menu was disappointing and did not offer the sweetbread which is their signature dish.We had requested dining in the patio which had plenty of tables available but instead put us inside the back room in spite of repeated requests. I would definitely not recommend this pricey restaurant which has become a tourist trap."

  • "This was a romantic date for me and as expected Bayona live up to its expectation. Food was good, service was good, and when you reserve table they take care you first. Every time I go there Bayona never let me down. Although it's a bit nosie, but I do expected because it was lunch time."

  • "Service was lacking. Food fair and long waits between courses. Limited selections. So different from earlier visits to an old favorite of ours"

  • "This restaurant is a gem just off Bourbon Street. If you aren't looking up for the sign you just might miss it! Walk along the building to a small garden in the back yard with plenty of tables and chairs. Enter the restaurant for your meal and you are made to feel at home immediately. The rooms are perfectly appointed and the staff is very professional and friendly. One side of the menu is all of the old favorites Bayona is famous for while the other side is the daily specials. Loved the specials. Had a wonderful meal and our wait staff were extremely helpful. I will be back to New Orleans in May and look forward to another great meal at Bayona."

  • "Bayona is a wonderful, innovative restaurant in the french quarter.. it is set back off Dauphine St... cobblestone walk-way, nice patio.. I have visited numerous times.. Susan Spicer's cuisine is innovative. Started with Roasted Garlic Soup, delicate texture and seasoning.. followed by Smoked Salmon Beignets with Roasted Beets on creme fraiche on greens.. followed by Roasted Duck gravy Grilled Sandwich with cashew butter and jalapeno jelly.. the drippings set on sliced apples, greens and celeriac salad.. The service and food is impeccable.. With generous tip: $41.00.. a great value for lunch. If you had dessert.. I was full.. approx $50. I recommend Bayona as a neighborhood gem which I frequent when in town. Thank you for being here."

  • "I am a big fan of rabbit. The preparation at Bayona was the best yet - two ways - a roulade and fried loin. The rabbit was preceded by deliciously spicy Korean meatballs and followed by mango cheesecake flan. Service and ambience were, as always, top notch. Bayona exceeds our high expectations once again."

  • "The Green Tomato Pie with Crawfish Remoulade, Goat Cheese Crouton with Mushrooms in Madeira Cream, and Cornbread and Andouille Stuffed Rabbit Roulade were absolutely delicious and prepared to perfection. The grilled Flank Iron Steak with Sala Verde was tasty but not as tantalizing as the plates above listed. We will continue to frequent this incredible French Quarter restaurant owned and operated by a great chef, Susan Spicer."

  • "The food and service are consistently perfect. When the weather allows, the patio is the place to be. Why can't all restaurants cook this well? We've been there dozens of times, and have never been disappointed in any way."

  • "Simply stated, Bayona is an excellent restaurant. The menu is creative and unique--you will not find similar combinations of ingredients anywhere else. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is excellent. In a city with a multitude of dining choices, make Bayona one of them. You will not be disappointed."

  • "For a party of six, every single one of us loved our meal! Our server, Jane, was amazing! She knew the menu like the back of her hand. Truly a delicious meal!"

  • "Bayona was recomended by a friend, and we loved the place from the first second. Calm and caring. We felt relaxed, well taken care of, professionaly guided. The cocktails were the best we have ever got. We went for the fish dishes. They were superb. Every thing we tasted was dilicate, even the coffe. We will come back. we had a lovely evening."

  • "The food courses met and exceeded our high expectations. The experience was spoiled by having to wait two hours between the first and the main course. Essentially we were ignored for two hours while our two wait staffers avoided our table. We had to get up to locate and tackle a wait person to even get a status."

  • "I wish I could remember the vibrant, fully informed and eager to inform waitress that we had on April 9 for an 8:30 sitting. She is married to a drummer and sings herself. She was not just knowledgeable about all the food, but great fun. It was as if we were having dinner with a new friend. I had chosen this place for its great food (the garlic soup, the sweetbreads, etc., etc.) for out-of-town friends. It did not disappoint!"

  • "We first read about Bayona in the Wall Street Journal in a column that features recipes by noted American chefs. The recipe for Bayona's swiss chard fritters caught our eye. So, we booked lunch in the garden out back, hoping to sample what we had seen. Well, fritters were on the menu that day, but were gone by the time we arrived (1:30 pm). But that was soon forgotten once we sampled the BBQ'd shrimp and red snapper. Overall, the food was extremely fresh and imaginatively prepared. Several of the dishes were riffs on Creole/Southern, but light, not leaden. We hope to return the next time we visit the Big Easy."

  • "Bayona was recommended by a foodie friend who visited NOLA years ago. The dining room is very comfortable and the service was very attentive without bring annoying. The ceasar salad was the disappointment of the meal. It lacked any flavor. It was a bowl of romaine lettuce. Otherwise, the sea bass entree I had was delicious as was my husband's lamb. Both were cooked to perfection. This made up for the lackluster salad."

  • "My wife and I were reminded of Susan Spicer and her new restaurant Bayonna. The best decision we made while in New Orleans. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable outside but the experience was well worth it. We would definitely return on our next visit to New Orleans. A must try is the sweet meats! WOW! The veal was outstanding as was the rabbit. Chefs choice of the menu was the best decision we made; it was fun to see what came next!."

  • "It was lovely at Bayona out in their courtyard. We lucked out weather wise in late March. It's not traditional New Orleans fare, but we had enough of that elsewhere. We had lamb and quail and rabbit fit for a king. The accompanying wine and appetizers were as well. And they got us out in time to see the Taj Mahal on the other side of the city."

  • "This is a favorite of ours. You feel like family here: what kind, attentive service from the moment you arrive. Great wine selection and truly outstanding creative food. Only mild complaint is that some small-plate portions were a little too small. Beautiful dining room and courtyard."

  • "Given it's reputation, we expected everything to be fabulous. We were disappointed in the eggplant caviar, but the sweetbreads and the salmon were fabulous. Very, very noisy."

  • "Very nice place with amazing food. Prices were very reasonable for fine dining. Only complaint is that it is very cramped and can be a bit too loud for a romantic dinner."
