  • "We chose this place because it offered outdoor seating. When we got there they seemed annoyed that we requested on Open Table to sit outside. They did not have their patio open so they sat us on the patio that was next door, our waiter seemed very annoyed. By the time we ordered & are he was better, I appreciated the accommodation, but wish they would have called to let us know. The food was amazing & we had beautiful weather for outdoor seating."

  • "Menu advertises dining is family-style, encouraging sharing. I ordered a half-order of the pasta while my dining companions ordered pizzas. Pasta was excellent, but a half-order was much smaller than I expected, and certainly not enough to sate me. Pizzas were excellent, and definitely big enough to share. Overall very good food (but order a full portion if you're hungry)."

  • "Had a really nice dinner at Basso Saturday night around 8pm. We started with the calamari which was excellent, and the chicken wings, which my husband loved. We both had pasta (the hazelnut pesto and the agnolotti) , which were good but not great. Our server was excellent. The only problem was the acoustics are so bad that we had to shout at each other to be heard. That made for an unpleasant experience. I guess the good news for Basso is that the place was packed and no one else seemed to care!"

  • "Great spot. Enjoyed with a group of 8 on a busy Saturday night. Noise level is high, so not the spot to go if you're looking for romantic dinner conversation. Food was excellent, atmosphere is fun and energetic. We were there on a very busy Saturday evening, so service was a little slow. Definitely a spot I'd recommend."

That said, I made room for a half-order of the pasta mafalda, which comes with (again) one of the best Bolognese sauces in town. Yes, the place is pretty noisy, but get a booth away from the crowd, and enjoy."

The antipasti portions were generous and the pizza was delicious. Even though it's an upbeat, buzzy place, we could still carry on a conversation comfortably. We were seated promptly in a nice booth, and our server arrived shortly thereafter. She made some recommendations and our appetizers arrived so quickly it was amazing. Quality of the food and visual appeal were top notch, crispy meatballs did not disappoint and the dressing on the bib lettuce was amazing. I should have asked about the ingredients. The server really listened to my comments and responded appropriately. This is our fourth visit to Basso, and each has been consistently great. We will be back."

  • "We had another enjoyable meal at Basso on Saturday. We started off with the crispy meatballs app and the kale ceasar salad. Both were delicious and the salad is more than enough for two people. Then we had the Golden Arches pizza, by far the best one on the list. Next time we plan to try some of the sides. We saw other tables getting the cauliflower and it looked amazing. My suggestion would be to come with another couple and share a bunch of stuff, there is not much that disappoints on this menu. The only downside is the noise level which we knew about in advance and had requested a booth, unfortunately that did not work out and we got seated at a two top near the bar. This issue aside we will still be back we love the place!"

  • "Quick dinner at Basso before heading to Grand Center for a show. Packed as usual, with a fun, high energy vibe--and no problem being seated immediately with our opentable reservation! Always enjoy the salads and pizza but tried a few new menu items of particular note--the roasted dates were both unique and delicious, perfect for sharing with cocktails--and the crispy meatballs really hit the spot on a cold night. The sauce was so good we licked the bowl clean! Great spot for a pre-show meal with the added bonus of being able to catch some of the Olympics opening ceremony."
