  • "Our food was prepared to absolute perfection. My favorites - Lobster corn chowder, Chop House smoked baby back ribs appetizer, filet mignon, and Maytag blue cheese potatoes - YUMMO! We also had a bottle of Frei Brothers Merlot - excellent! Our server was very attentive and anticipated our every need."

  • "The Sunday evening service was excellent, and the steaks were cooked to perfection for each individual in our group; ranging as ordered from rare to medium well doneness."

  • "Last time we ate at bass street the food and service was excellent. Unfortunately this time it was not. The service was extremely slow even though it was not busy. Last time I ordered the 6oz filet and it melted in my mouth, this time I ordered the 10oz and the entire outside was burnt. I guess it’s hit or miss with this restaurant. If you do go, the prime mac & cheese is a must try!"

  • "Always fab - a downtown favorite watering hole. The bartenders have become friends, and the restaurant is accomodating to all needs - I have used them for business and personal dining regularly."

  • "Our food at this meal was excellent -- two great aged rib-eyes, seared ahi tuna and the seafood quartet. All were prepared perfectly. This particular Saturday night, full bottles of wine were half price, so we took advantage of that special and ordered a wine that was twice as expensive as what we normally would have ordered -- D'Arenberg Dead Arm. It was excellent. The salads and soup were great and only one side dish (creamed spinach) disappointed -- whole leaves instead of chopped and a bit watery. Service was quite good even with a full room. Noise level was active but not obtrusive. Prices are high, but you get very high quality."

  • "Hate to sound like an old guy, even if I'm 49 years old.... WAY WAY WAY too loud in the dining room.. Lucky for me I'm half deaf but once it got past me, yea golden..."

  • "Nice atmosphere for a date with my wife of 50+ years. She appreciated the fancy "date" at a fine eating place."

  • "Our food was fantastic and our server Ross made the night even better. We like the fact that the side dishes are served family style so everybody gets to try all of them instead of being bound to the traditional baked potato and salad."

  • "Had 6 pm reservations on a Friday night, so they were busy. Ordered fried calamari, which was ok. Large pieces, slightly overdone, but not bad. Had the lobster corn chowder, too salty, but still edible. Another person ordered a hamburger, medium temperature. They said it was overcooked, but still ok. They did find several bits of aluminum foil in the sandwich; presumably used to cook the bacon on? Another person ordered the ahi tuna, and liked it. Ordered 6 ounce filet mignon, medium rare, and also thought overcooked, but seasoned well. Were there for over two hours. Server was friendly and did a good job of explaining the menus. If they were less busy, they could have focused more on preparing entrees better. Expected more from this place."

  • "Great food, good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Not an every day restaurant for me because it's a little pricey for that but definitely a great choice for special occasions."

  • "I planned this dinner for a surprise birthday and it was a great surprise for both the guest and me. I had not been there before and I was amazingly surprise at how well the whole evening went. It is a beautiful place, friendly, and amazing food. Highly recommended! Parking was difficult due to a hockey game going on."

  • "From the moment we walked through the front door we were pleasingly impressed with the hostesses friendly greeting, the beautiful ambience of the decor, the courteous, helpful waiter and the excellently prepared food. We were pleasantly surprised when the waiter brought our CRÈME BRÛLÉE out and Happy Anniversary was written in chocolate around the edge of the plate!! Whether you live near or far from Moline, this restaurant will definitely be a wonderful experience you will love!!"

  • "We had such a wonderful time at Bass Street! The food was awesome. The greeting and seating was outstanding. The waiter, Kyle, was superb! They have truly lost a gem of a waiter since he is moving away. We will definitely return."

  • "Bass Street Chop House is as good a fine dining experience as any in Chicago. Beats Mortons even Shaws. KOBI Beef avaiable. Seafood is to die for. Servers glide as they move. Outstanding service from all employees, even the hat check gal. Prices are not heart stopping, but about what you'd expect from such a great restaurant."

  • "My wife and I went here for the first time for Valentine's Day. It was very romantic. Food, service, atmosphere, everything was above excellent! We started with the portabella fries. They were great. Afterwards, I had a ceasar salad (actually including the anchovies) and my wife had their soup. Excellent! For the main dish, I had their dry aged delmonico while my wife had the new york strip. Probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. Served (with extra cost) with a side of grilled asparagus. The menu was a bit strange. Sides are ordered ($$$) separately. The main course includes a soup or salad. One negative, which is unfortunate, for just us the meal came to over 140 dollars. Was it worth it...? ..........Yes...? But just barely."

  • "The restaurant was very busy when we arrived and it took a little longer than usual to check in at the hostess station. The only other glitch was when they took us back to our table it wasn't cleaned off and they redirected us to the bar until they finished cleaning it off. That took a few minutes and was a minor inconvenience. Once we were seated it took a little while to get some water served but once they got rolling the waiter was very nice and did a good job. The food was good and the rest of the night enjoyable."

  • "This has become our Special Occasion place. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday We love the half price bottle of wine Fridays. He ordered the seafood daily special (halibut) and I ordered a filet. We shared our entrees and a small order of asparagus. It was just the right amount of food to not leave feeling stuffed. The waiter was fun and friendly and new just the right times to check in with us. We had a wonderful evening."

  • "I recently attended Bass Street Chop House with some friends for a celebration. As usual, it was top notch. At times the tables may feel a bit close together, but never fear, as if you are choosing this place for a romantic evening, there are small booths perfect for two people. The food is always fantastic, particularly the aged steaks, and the wine list is comprehensive enough to suit all tastes, but is not confusing or intimidating. The restaurant is a tad on the pricey side, but well worth it for special occasions!"

  • "Every meal we have at Bass Street is always special. We appreciate the decent corkage fee when we bring our own "special" bottles as well at the 1/2 price bottles on Friday. We have never had a bad experience at Bass Street. Food is always correctly prepared, wait staff is top notch."

  • "Wonderful service and the food was out of this world. We started with the portabella fries. They were really good and the dipping sauce was fantastic. The salads and bread were above average. My husband had the waygu ny strip and though he is a big time steak snob he thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend had the chicken with whole wheat spaghetti and a pesto sauce. She cleaned her plate. I had the chophouse chicken and it was probably the best chicken plate I've ever had. Drinks and wine were good and reasonably priced. Despite the nearly two hour drive we are already making plans to come back with some friends that enjoy good food!"
