  • "I have been here numerous times over the years and love it here, but this time after enjoying our meal and finishing our wine, the hostess tapped on our table and said, this table has a ressie, assuming she meant reservation, people are waiting and then walked away! We were there a total of an hour and 10 minutes. I have never been so rudely spoken to! There were also 3 tables empty, it was a Monday evening."

  • "Basilico's never ceases to impress. The food and service at this restaurant can compete with any of the top rated philly restaurants. The specials blew us away. We had the grilled peaches app and perfectly seared scallops special app that were outstanding. The highlight of the meal was the stuffed flounder with homemade lobster tortellini and the corn stuffed quail. This was the best preparation of quail I have ever eaten, which is saying a lot since I have tried it just about everywhere. The quail was very moist with a nice crisp skin and the stuffing was delicious. The homemade lobster tortellini in the lobster bisque broth was a perfect compliment to the stuffed flounder. If you are down the shore, you should make the trip."

  • "We dined at Basilicos Ristorante for the first time and were very pleased with our experience. The greeting by the hostess was very welcoming, and our server, Sarah, was excellent. The food was well prepared and nicely presented. Great bread and good appetizers and salad. The main courses were outstanding: flounder stuffed with crabmeat in a nice light sauce; and pescatore passomonti, linguini topped with a generous serving of seafood (mussels, shrimp, clams, etc) in a delicious light tomato sauce. We look forward to a return visit!"

They charged $7 for a kid's meal (and that did not include any drink, side, or dessert). One of my kids had pizza, and the other two had ravioli. $7 for ONE slice of pizza? The other two kids received THREE ravioli each. Sadly, we cannot justify coming back here."

  • "There are several good restaurants in Sea Isle City, but Basilicos is by far the best---- lively ambiance, friendly service and excellent food, not to mention it is BYO. The complimentary bread and dipping sauce is delicious and has a uniquely different taste than most dipping sauces. The house made salad dressing is outstanding. I must admit I keep coming back to the same two entrees because they are both so wonderful. They are the Chicken Vincenzo, made with the most decadent gorganzola sauce and the Ravioli AnneMarie, which has a very smooth sauce containing an abundance of crabmeat. My husband is more adventurous and usually orders one of the nightly specials. He has never been disappointed. The best of the Jersey Shore!!"

  • "My family decided to try this restaurant after reading favorable reviews. While the service was good, the majority of the dishes we had were in heavy, floury sauces. One person ordered Medallions of veal with plum tomatoes and capers in a lemon basil sauce with housemade spinach and ricotta agnolotti. The veal (not medallions but 2 large pieces) was overcooked so therefore chewy and the lemon basil sauce was more like flour, water with a little lemon. No plum tomatoes. The Shrimp wrapped in prosciutto was also overcooked. The homemade potato gnocchi was good but SWIMMING in creme pesto sauce (heavy flour taste again) and again, no plum tomatoes. Other had the pasta with clams and enjoyed them."

  • "To start...I am biased and not ashamed to admit it. Basilicos tries really hard to please and it shows. The service is friendly and knows the menu and the specials. The value is one of the best at the shore. They seat you on time and you don't feel pressured to be out in 60 minutes. This weekend we brought foodie friends who are hard to please on the best of days. They loved the experience, especially that the flexibility and recommendation from the chef. I honestly haven't found a menu item which did not surpass expectations."

  • "Food and service were amazing! We made a special request and it was no problem for the chef. Soups were piping hot and out if this world (lobster/crab bisque and the other was an asparagus, corn and crab). House salad dressing was phenomenal. Main course (salmon over spinach fetachini) was done to perfection. Salmon was fresh, not greasy. Portions were more than enough....everyone in our party brought food home. BYOB so saved money there. Our meal cost $60 for 3 people. Overall, very happy and will return soon!"
