Diner Reviews
  • "The food quality was inconsistent. The polenta antipasti was very good. My Vongole Napoletano was mediocre. Clams too large and sauce was gritty. My wife's chicken was dry. So, for the price, no return."

  • "There are several good restaurants in Sea Isle City, but Basilicos is by far the best---- lively ambiance, friendly service and excellent food, not to mention it is BYO. The complimentary bread and dipping sauce is delicious and has a uniquely different taste than most dipping sauces. The house made salad dressing is outstanding. I must admit I keep coming back to the same two entrees because they are both so wonderful. They are the Chicken Vincenzo, made with the most decadent gorganzola sauce and the Ravioli AnneMarie, which has a very smooth sauce containing an abundance of crabmeat. My husband is more adventurous and usually orders one of the nightly specials. He has never been disappointed. The best of the Jersey Shore!!"

  • "I always enjoy my meals here. I like the veal piccata with housemade agnolotti. I also enjoy the spaghetti and meatballs. Dinners come with salad and their Vidalia vinaigrette dressing. I highly recommend Basilico's."

  • "Every time we are here in Sea Isle City either on vacation or Girls Weekend, Basilicos is our favorite restaurant. Owned by wonderful family who pay attention to the variety and freshness of their food. We love it!!!!"

  • "Much nicer than a pizza joint, but not stuffy. The food and service are top notch. Forty dollar dinner for two at the shore is almost unheard of. The salad was fresh and served with a home made Vidalia dressing. The meatballs are home made as well and worth coming back for alone. Will return. BYOB."

  • "Their calamari appetizer is out of this world as is their polenta appetizer. Outstanding service."
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "Our family went to dinner there for Fathers Day. The appetizers were great. The salad is served family style and the homemade dressing is delicious. They give a balsamic dip for the bread which is also delicious. The portions were big and everyone loved the food."

  • "My family decided to try this restaurant after reading favorable reviews. While the service was good, the majority of the dishes we had were in heavy, floury sauces. One person ordered Medallions of veal with plum tomatoes and capers in a lemon basil sauce with housemade spinach and ricotta agnolotti. The veal (not medallions but 2 large pieces) was overcooked so therefore chewy and the lemon basil sauce was more like flour, water with a little lemon. No plum tomatoes. The Shrimp wrapped in prosciutto was also overcooked. The homemade potato gnocchi was good but SWIMMING in creme pesto sauce (heavy flour taste again) and again, no plum tomatoes. Other had the pasta with clams and enjoyed them."

  • "My husband and I are regulars at Basilicos. The food is always delicious, the service is excellent, and the updates in the decor make the atmosphere even better than last year. Make reservations well ahead of time, as this is a Sea Isle favorite."

  • "We're regulars at Basilico's. Most regulars know, it's a lively, family-owned, family operated, family friendy place. Be mindful of that new patrons-kids are around. Adults should also bring their manners & patience. Halibut in carrot puree was AWESOME! Portions are generous for the price!"

  • "SPECTACULAR, but you will NEED a reservation. Dont onpen the menu, unless you are alergic to the specials. They are the specials for a reason."

  • "we come once or twice a year and were not disappointed yet again. We arrived early for our reservation and only waited 10 minutes before they found another table to seat us at rather then wait for our reservation time. It was restaurant week with 1/2 price appetizers - they were a little smaller then usual but that was ok."

  • "Great to have them in sea isle city. Delicious! "

  • "Food tasty, portions ample, kitchen accommodating, soup very hot (a good thing), but dining room VERY COLD. What is it with many seashore restaurants? Can't they regulate their AC? Bring a jacket!"

  • "To start...I am biased and not ashamed to admit it. Basilicos tries really hard to please and it shows. The service is friendly and knows the menu and the specials. The value is one of the best at the shore. They seat you on time and you don't feel pressured to be out in 60 minutes. This weekend we brought foodie friends who are hard to please on the best of days. They loved the experience, especially that the flexibility and recommendation from the chef. I honestly haven't found a menu item which did not surpass expectations."

  • "Food and service were amazing! We made a special request and it was no problem for the chef. Soups were piping hot and out if this world (lobster/crab bisque and the other was an asparagus, corn and crab). House salad dressing was phenomenal. Main course (salmon over spinach fetachini) was done to perfection. Salmon was fresh, not greasy. Portions were more than enough....everyone in our party brought food home. BYOB so saved money there. Our meal cost $60 for 3 people. Overall, very happy and will return soon!"

  • "Great service, delicious appy's . 6 out of 8 meals were outstanding. Both my husband and ordered Veal Basilicos Veal with Lump crab meat, very very bland. We will never order it again. Disappointed. "

  • "Being a seasonal visitor to Sea Isle I had to wait all winter to come back to Basilico's. It was worth the wait! Soooo good! Basilico's is my favorite Italian restaurant. My friend and I love the signature oil and salad dressing and haven't had an entree yet that we didn't like. "

  • "Basilicos, always consistent great food and they are very accommodating. Six of us got together for dinner, all meals and side dishes were very good, especially the spicy shrimp, lamb and beef meatballs and the Veal Basilico. Our server, Jill, was very pleasant and offered helpful suggestions. Basilicos is a BYOB. I suggest reservations. Enjoy."

  • "My go-to entree is usually the eggplant parm. But when I feel like pasta I order fettuccine Alfredo with sun dried tomatoes. ( No peas, no mushrooms, and no chicken). The other night there was a scallop special so I asked for scallops to be added to my fettuccini and sun dried tomatoes. Thankfully, Scott does not seem to mind "special orders." It was so good. I hope you continue to have scallops every so often. "

  • "It felt so good to be back again! The halibut special was absolutely amazing that I had and Rich thoroughly enjoyed his veal saltimbucca! Lucy was our waitress and helped make our night extra special by making us feel she was so happy to see us! Thank you Basilico's once again for a great night and a great dinner!"

  • "Basilicos is the only local restaurant that never fails to wow on every meal. The specials menu is always amazing, and innovative."

  • "I am so glad Basilicos opens up early in the season. During the few months it is closed, I count the days until it is once again open. The atmosphere is energetic, but still you can actually have a quiet conversation with your dining partner. The food is always consistently delicious. The Pollo Vincenzo and Ravioli AnnMarie are our staple favorites and are never disappointing. Since it is a BYO, the value is terrific. I could probably eat there every weekend if i didn't feel the need to "branch out" once in a while. I love this place!!!"

  • "Basilico's remains our #1 go-to restaurant and recommendation in SIC. Last night's salmon and ravioli specials affirmed that they do the basics consistently and the additions creatively. A treat from start to finish. Like visiting old friends every time you go!"
