The open air tables inside the restaurant offer a lovely cafe experience without the cars driving by, etc. In the past I found the food inconsistent although authentic, but my last few times at the restaurant the food has been terrific and the service too. There are many options depending on and how much of a meal you would like, and it is a relaxing experience out of a busy work day. I am also impressed that they are back to offering wines from a local winery although I have not sampled yet.
I cannot comment on dinner but I will definitely check out.

Place was jumping! Unfortunately had to wait about a half hour for our 7:15 reservation. Food was very good, and the noise level abated as the evening wore on. Would recommend though. They have a patio, but was told it wasn't open until July. The table for 2 was quite small and it was a challenge to find a place for wine, water and the food. The food was excellent - the bread and toppings superb - main courses were outstanding - the desert was excellent. The service was haphazard - When the waiter was taking our order he faced away from me and spoke directly to my wife when describing the specials and I had to ask him to repeat them since I couldn't hear him - we also has to ask to have our plates removed after finishing each course - so the service was less than perfect and certainly not the equal of the food.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMStill doing greatThis restaurant has been around longer than I remember and continues its excellence. Menu is a nice mix of traditional and slightly adventurous Italian food. Just wish they would give prices of specials without being asked. BYOB or order NJ wines they offer.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMStill a great restaurant!Basilico has been in Millburn for years. We stopped going, but went back this year and it was better than I remembered. The food was delicious w great specials. Their Osso bucco is still amazingly good. My only complaint is that the specials should be written down. There are so many it's hard to remember them all after the server goes they a list of 7-8 diff items!!

The last time was several months ago before attending a show at the Papermill Playhouse. The food the first time was excellent so this time we came with friends hoping it would be as good as the first time. It was better! Our guests raved about it. The food was oustanding and so was the service. They knew we were going to the Playhouse for a show and made sure we were able to get all our courses on time but without feeling rushed. The wait staff could not have been more attentive and helpful to us. We had a wonderful time, I don't think we disturbed anyone else and the food was excellent as usual.
