Basi ItaliaWednesday night on patioEnjoyed the featured wine program that they have on Wedensday's .5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!!!!This is an amazing place for a date or any special occasion. Very friendly staff and owners. Amazing food and atmosphere. basi is a hidden gem in columbus ohio.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Sunny in BasiAnother stellar performance for the folks at Basi. As always, we were given awesome service, starting with moving tables from a 2 top in the corner to a 4 top by the window....small gesture, but a HUGE difference. Fortunately it was a Tuesday and the reservation book wasn't all the way full. Our server was awesome and had as many suggestions for my fiance as she did questions. I am sorry that I can't remember his name currently, but at Basi there really are no sub-tacular servers. We had the zucchini appetizer and their special tomato bisque to start and promptly destroyed both plates in a short time. She had the NY Strip, I had the special Pork Chop. Finished with a Pot de Creme and a huge smile!!! Next time....the PATIO!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood great; ambianceFood and service were terrific. Restaurant has no curb appeal and little inner ambiance.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a fantastic eveningWe had a fantastic evening at Basi. My girlfriend and I truly enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Phil our bartender and server was very personable and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. The subtle tastes and fresh ingredients as well as the presentation made for a delightful meal. We could not have had a better experience!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIntimate and Unforgettable! We found them by YELP. It is in an old house in Victorian Village, off the beaten path. It eliminated the typical traffic congestion. The use of their valet parking is essential. We were seated promptly. We had their potato soup - rich and smooth - and their duck confit with fig jam and goat cheese - not to be missed! I had their eggplant parmesan which was delicious without the typical overbearing marinara sauce and my husband had their trout. We will definitely go back again.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCame from Cleveland with friendsCame from Cleveland with friends for the weekend. Basi is probably one of the best restaurants in the Midwest! So good, so perfect!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMEh....Of the 4 items we ordered, only the duck flatbread was worth bragging about. The wild boar sausage had a very bizarre texture (like organ meat), the egg with cream appetizer special was rather boring (a frittata with salad on top....the cream must have been baked in rather than in the form of a sauce, as we expected), and the veal scallopini could have used a lot more seasoning. The atmosphere there is so fantastic. It's a shame that their food is falling short.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was wonderful. The foodIt was wonderful. The food was delicious and service excellent. We loved the $30 special menu. It suddenly became our favorite!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was one of the best mealsThis was one of the best meals I have had in Columbus. There were 4 of us, the other mand felt the same way, our wives enjoyed it, but were not as overwhelmed. I had the duck flatbread - amazing. The Wild Boar sausage was incredible too. For my secondi I had the rabbit carbonara, again, amazing!!! My friend had trout which was the best trout I have had. Rigitoni was fresh and very good. Nothing about any rigatoni will ever amaze... Will return any time I am able, it was incredible!!!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent; waiterFood was excellent; waiter was really good and don't mind the cramped quarters, but parking is really bad, even on a Tuesday.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious as ever, coupledDelicious as ever, coupled with outstanding, attentive service. The only complaint is the cramped space indoors. But I'd rather they fit more into Basi rather than less.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
