We came to celebrate my son's birthday (seems we were one of many birthday celebrations that night). The food presentation is outlandishly fun and we felt like "food tourists" taking photos with every course. The appetizers and dessert were our favorite part of the meal. The popcorn shrimp comes with popcorn and two delicious dipping sauces. We also shared the bucket of bones which is a sampling of various meats in a perfectly spicy, smoky, tangy BBQ sauce. The dinner entrees were good, just not as good as what they could be for the money. The cost is in the presentation. Although, I will say the portions of food are more than acceptable. For dessert, a small army is needed to make a dent. Overall, a fun experience and great for a group celebration. Just plan on forking over a hefty sum for your meal.

This restuaraunt has a new twist, adding various props that get delivered with your food. Giant forks, toasters, chickens, etc. It is fun, it kind of makes you into a voyeur - constantly looking around at other tables to see what props they received. It is fun and lively. The drink specialities are fun as well, with nitro smoking cocktails... However, beware. The tables are very small - which can make it difficult to eat being the large props that accompany the food. Some tables with multiple props had the diners cramped to even cut their food. Also, because of the added service needed - I noticed poor workflow which caused a backup of runners and waiters trying to work together in the small aisles. It is fun, a good place to go for a special occasion. But, it is not a good place to go for a foodie - for while it is fun to look at the food - ultimately it is too difficult to eat the food.

I read the various contrasting reviews prior to dinner so my expectations weren't huge. I am happy to say that Barton G exceeded my expectations. The staff was great, friendly and attentive. The drinks were fantastic, I had 2 "Diamonds Are Forever" martinis, my friend had 2 Jala migos our 12 year old daughters had a Rob Roy (Pepsi with cherry juice) and a Watermelon and Cranberry Juice-tini both served in a martini glass with liquid nitrogen so they arrived "smoking" and made the beverage slushy, they LOVED IT! Our Server Stephanie was phenomenal! She was informative, pleasant and accommodating. However, as the restaurant got busier, there were delays in her visiting our table (understandable). All of our meals were seasoned very well the Lobster and Shrimp entree was great but the shrimp were salty but it made me finish my water! We ordered G Fries (Shoestring, Truffle Potatoes, Waffle Sweet Potato and Potato Chips - all great. Popcorn Shrimp - delicious, Bucket of Bones good bbq flavor, Lobster Mac 'n Cheese (daughter devoured it), Rib Eye. All portions are enough for 2 people and we took so much food home. Our bill was $410 before tip. I highly recommend it.

We had a great server. She was super nice. The restaurant atmosphere and food presentation were amazing! The food itself, however, was overpriced and didn't taste good at all. Our bill came out to be almost $300 for four people. We wouldn't feel as bad if the food tasted good, but since it didn't, we did not like the restaurant. We will not be going back there again.

    Dined on 11/1/2014
Ate here for the first time and although the gimmicks were fun, the food was very heavy and overpriced for what you get, so I would only go here for big group events where you can share things. It's not a regular dining place kind of restaurant. The worst was the service; it took the server 15 min to bring our check, he screwed up our check with another table and gave them our credit cards, and chased us at valet once he'd signed saying that it still wasn't right! (not our problem). A 30 minute debacle! Very unprofessional. So this was a one and done type place for us. We won't return.

I really enjoyed the food and presentation. The Mac and Cheese is amazing along with the melt in your mouth steak. It was everything I expected it to be. ~ Mac n Cheese - perfection ~ Steak - perfection ~ Lobster Pop Tarts - perfection ~ Bread - perfection ~ Lobster - to small ~ My Waiter - NOT that friendly My over all experience was great. I just ignored my waiters bad attitude.

Barton G is a restaurant that is different from any you have ever experienced! It is as if you were invited there for a special occasion and you are the guest of honor. The colorful drinks are brought to you with steam rising from the frozen popsicle infused delight with a hanging chocolate monkey to break the upper layer of frozen wonder. I know, sounds like the beginning of the "Unbirthday" in Alice In Wonderland, right? The lobster with delicious vegetables and jumbo shrimp is as fantastic as the Trojans iron helmet that has risen above it (you can wear it!). The lobster tart appeared inside of toaster reminiscent of the 50"s and is something that must be tried as an appetizer, remarkable. Each dish has a theme that adds to the flavor.

This restaurant visit was as unexpected as the circus. The menu was creative, but the presentation was over the top. So fun! Have your camera ready when the food comes to the table, and then be amazed as you take a bite. Even though he originated this idea in Miami, this is a true LA experience. Great job Barton G! Fun environment, with a focus on presentation, using lots of props. The food was good, but a bit pricy, should definitely be listed as $$$ not $$. The interior was nicely done, and good soft lighting. Service was great. The only downside to the props is that they can be very distracting, (you can have them removed after they bring the food :-). Nice wine list, and some wild cocktails (with fog of course). Probably better for a small group than just a couple. The appetisers and desserts were like $30 so a bit much to share for just two.

I had been following the Miami restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to learn Barton G recently opened here in Beverly Hills. I immediately made reservations for my birthday celebration, we were a party of 6 ranging from ages from 18 to 50, all of us absolutely loved the restaurant and the quality of food was outstanding. We have been talking about the restaurant daily since dinner Monday night. Can't wait to go back!

I imagine this may be a hit with a tourist crowd as presentations of food are outlandish and picture worthy-which basically means that people will take photos all night but then never need to return as food is sub par (read: tasteless) and overpriced. Front check in main hostess is plain rude-seating is poorly laid out as the gimmicky dishes are too large to fit on the tables to be able to eat comfortably. Drinks are incredibly overpriced ($20/cocktail?!) and mediocre at best. Skip it. This place is a fail for LA-would possibly be better suited for Vegas.

An amazing dinning experience! The food was delish and presentation was just out of this would. My friend and i arrived 20 minutes late for our reservation and they had no problem seating us immediately. We sat at a table for 2 the only downside is that the tables are far too close together! We didn't like that but it is what it is I guess. Overall it was 1st class all the way and the prices reflect that. I will go back. Awesome for special celebrations & romantic datenights!

Can't say enough about how much fun we had dining at Barton G. Haven't ever laughed and smiled so much in a fine dining restaurant! The food is terrific - love those lobster pop tarts and the sea bass was like butter in your mouth. The dipping sauces with the french fry tower were all great! As delicious as the food is that is only part of a great experience - don't want to ruin the fun for first timers as we were. Enjoy!

The restaurant itself was good. The seating arraingements (at least where we were seated) has some to be desired as we were pretty much on the "runway" between the bar and the front entrance. For the price of the meals we paid for having someone's backside in our face every now and then is not very pleasurable. There needs to be more privacy if you will so one can enjoy their "not cheap" meal. No complaint about the pricing but if you are going to pay that much for dinner you want it to be a good thing all around without having to have a proctologist license just to eat.

My experience: I took some clients out to dinner , the ambiance fantastic , people of all places , the service friendly , the drinks to die for it , we had a fantastic waiter very friendly and welling to take the pictures we requested , the food amazing , presentation is a show to see, the flavors incredible, we were able to talk with few of the restaurant's attendee's very happy and friendly , the dessert , we order just one and it was more that enough for a party of four , it was a decadent chocolate brownie with ice cream on a pirate kind of treasury box the restaurant is not inexpensive , but it is worth it , will go back

Barton G has a great atmosphere, the setting was great, tons of people and definitely a hot spot however the food is really lacking. The presentation was definitely over-the-top however the food does not match up at all. I had 3 guests with me for dinner and unfortunately everyone felt the same way. I hope they can fix that problem pretty quickly because in a town like LA, where food is just getting better and better, this restaurant will not last if the food is sub-par.

I'd heard about Barton G in Los Angeles mag and then also from friends. It's small but well laid out. The presentation of the food is outlandish and fun. This kind of gimick wouldn't really work unless the food itself was delicious, which it was! We shared an appetizer and had two drinks and an entree a piece and made it out for 200 bucks.
