Bartlett Pear InnWorth the DriveMy wife and I drove a good ways to Easton to celebrate our anniversary. The drive was VERY much worth it. Wonderful food, classic cocktails (Try the Amelia Earhart!), and excellent service. We have eaten at many nice restaurants in VA, DC, and MD - this was as nice of a place that we've been to in years. The wine list is not long, but has some real gems.
You can tell that they take pride in all they do to make the dining experience a memorable occasion - we are already talking about scheduling a return trip soon to try the tasting menu.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Eastern Shore Gem!This restaurant is our favorite restaurant on the entire Eastern Shore of Maryland. The food is consistently brilliant in taste, appearance and creativity. The staff is well trained and the ambiance is cozy and private at the same time. The owners (chef Jordan and Alice) make an effort to ensure that every customer has the best experience possible and always make their patrons feel special. There are not enough accolades for this little gem. Just try it!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a favoriteJust the best - now including Inn grown items from their on site garden. Chef Jordan and wife/ partner Alice deserve their wonderful success.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely evening...Our meal was outstanding. The chef has notable experience and a warm and friendly restaurateur!
We had the food and wire paring, which was delicious. Interesting wines, and perfect portion sizes for the number or courses. We will go back again soon! Just wonderful!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTotally nurturingService on a par with the Inn at Little Washington. A delightful anniversary experience. Complimentary champagne arrived to honor our special day. They also have a handsome wine bar which serves tapas. Outdoor dining is available in clement weather.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDestination RestaurantWe tried the chef's special tasting menu which is not prix fixe in the normal sense. Our waiter first asked our likes and dislikes. They then presented a five course meal based upon our tastes that included a selection of food from the menu paired with their wines. Our prix fixe included (1) Wild King Salmon Tartar with Stonehouse Farms Egg Gribiche, Avocado, Mustard Seed Tuile, Cottingham Farms Dill; (2) a foie gras terrine; (3) Wild Alaskan Halibut; and (4) Beef Wellington on a bed of spinach. Ingredients are locally sourced. Our waiter explained the nuances of each wine pairing. Excellent staff!
This was one of the best meals that we have ever had ranking along with the meals that we have had at the Inn at Little Washington.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! Highly recommend! My wife and I were visiting the Easton area from NYC for one night and chose to stay at the Bartlett Pear primarily because it is home to a terrific restaurant. I know this is a restaurant review, but I want to add that the Barlett Pear Inn is a great B&B - my wife and I have been to many all over the world and this was top-notch. Bottom line is that this a great restaurant that must be experienced if you are in the area. There is no attitude - everyone was friendly and accommodating. We were lucky enough to have breakfast there the next morning since we were staying and the food and service were impeccable. The chef came out and introduced himself and you can tell he takes pride in a wonderful establishment - we will be back!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant in Easton..Love this restaurant. Everything about the experience was top notch. Staff were uniformly enthusiastic, friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable about the offerings. Food was excellent, the service attentive and helpful but not overly fussy or intrusive, and the setting was delightful. I'd offer more superlatives but I don't want the place to be overrun before my next visit.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!!!Jordan's kitchen is as good as any DC restaurant. Recommend a special weekend in Easton just to dine here!!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as alwaysThe Barlett Pear is an outstanding restaurant. The service is excellent. Owners Jordan and Alice Lloyd are not only good at running a restaurant, but the are incredibly nice people as well. The moderately priced wine we had was so good that we found out where we could buy it locally. The halibut was especially good as well as a lemon dessert with a ginger cookie. The potato souffle was absolutely amazing. They use fresh produce from local farmers that is always delicious. This is a perfect place for a special occassion.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in Easton..Love the food - exceptionally good every time. They offer dishes off the menu - you can ask for it. Their tasting menu is the best. Just tell them what meat you like and the chef creates amazing dishes. Truly artistic meals - pleases all your senses - visual, olfactory and your taste buds! Highly recommend.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMRomanitc Find in EastonFor our anniversary, we went to the Bartlett Pear based on a review in the Washington Post. It was everything that the review said and more. The decor is serene and lovely, the food wonderful and the staff helpful. professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Chef/owner said warm hello at end of meal.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMClose to heavenEvery time we dine at Bartlett we think it can't get any better; it's absolutely excellent, but the next time we arrive, the chef has once again surpassed himself. Chef Jordan's dover sole melted in our mouths, and even the veggies were delicious. Our mistake was to order only one dessert to share; that was wrong. The lemon parfait was so light and tasty that we practically inhaled it. The service was perfect, solid and unobtrusive. We can't say enough good things about the ambiance, Jordan the chef, or the staff. May he reign forever.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was exquisite andThe food was exquisite and beautifully served. The food is prepared to perfection and artistically presented. The Sea Bass offering tonight was superb, as was the Coffee Crème Brulee dessert. The cocktail choices are always unique and the "Dark and Cloudy" variation tonight was exceptionally refreshing. Our server, Greg, and the staff were very attentive and accommodating in every detail. The Bartlett Pear is a "must visit" when in the Easton, MD area!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Chef came out with a coupleThe Chef came out with a couple of the dishes - very unassuming but intense gentlemen. Portions were a bit on the small side, but food quality, preparation and presentation were excellent, with fair pricing. Relatively short wine selection is diverse in price and options, making it fun and easy to navigate. Maitre d' was very attentive; server not so much. Close to outstanding; we recommend.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Place Around!LOVE!LOVE!LOVE! This place! Food is always spot on and service is very attentive without being intruisive. We are huge foodies and have tried and gone to a lot of different places all over the Country. This still is our favorite place to go.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Choice in EastonGreat food with very good service. Dinner during Restaurant Week was a bargain. beautiful old building but space is tight so don't expect a lot of elbow room. The Charcuterie was to die for and deserts are outstanding. Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. As is the case for most fine restaurants, entree portions are small but sufficient. Allows you to save room for desert. Highly recommended by this satisfied customer.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding as always - trulyOutstanding as always - truly a gift to the eastern shore.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is as good as it gets. This is as good as it gets. The food is perfectly prepared and served.m Only wish the dining room was a bit larger.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything is on pointThis was our first time to Bartlett Pear (Friday after valentines day). I typically avoid going out on valentines day becuase i don't like fixed menus. However, they offered the valentines day fixed menu the day after and we ordered it because it was a very well composed multi-course offering with wine paring for each course. Everything was absolutely amazing. The attention to detail (both with ingredient selection, seasoning, layers of flavor, presentation, and wine paring) was on point. The wait staff made us feel like we were the most important table in the restaurant and as if we've be coming there for years. Everything was excellent. A bit pricey, but worth it as a special occassion restaurant. I look forward to trying lamb there.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
