Diner Reviews
  • "Our cocktails at the bar were deliciously prepared by Justin who also talked us through making mint juleps for others. Pleasantly educational! The wait staff, especially our server, was attentive, polite and unobtrusive. Most importantly, the food was superb! One had the octopus garden and the other the sliced beet appetizer and we both enjoyed the grilled halibut for our main course accompanied by their Inn cut French fries. Regardless of one's selection, the French fries are a tasty addition! We shared a delicious chocolate volcano and French press coffee for desert. This is our fourth visit to "The Pear" which has become our favorite special occasion restaurant. Our heartiest compliments to Chef Jordan Lloyd and his staff."

  • "Jordan continues to prepare stellar meals. We went for restaurant week, so were wondering how he was going to do his food for $35 per person. He did it by creating smaller tasting plates, but did but not skimp one iota on product quality or presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed the sepia with pork belly and esplette as a first course and also loved the duck breast with red cabbage and walnuts. Both the fresh doughnut with rise up coffee ice cream and the chocolate tarte were stellar closes to the meal."

  • "We have eaten at Bartlett Pear in the past. For restaurant week, we found the menu offered an excellent selection but, unlike on earlier visits, the portions were very small. I assume it was because the prices were much lower than the those of the regular menu. Service was excellent and unobtrusive. Food was excellent. A little noisy because the restaurant was filled to capacity. A pleasant experience overall."

  • "The food is consistently amazing at this lovely small restaurant! We were there for Restaurant Week, and they provided an excellent selection. And it was not overwhelming amounts! Loved it!"

  • "Excellent! Delicious and special. Only critcism is that the wine pours with the pairings were skimpy."

  • "Group of four enjoying dinner at the Bartlett Pair during Talbot County Restaurant week. The Inn/Restaurant is an absolute Gem, with an outstanding young chef, Jordan Lloyd. Food was beautifully presented and prepared, and service from the time we walked in the door was top notch. Only complaint was a somewhat skimpy portion on one of our entrees: only two scallops. Outside of that, everything was definitely in the "excellent" category. The bananas foster dessert prepared was a nice touch. Not our first time at the establishment, and NOT our last!!"

  • "We applaud your decision to maintain your menu for this week. Better to reduce the size of the portions than go to a less enticing menu as so many restaurants do. The duck and halibut entrees were great as were the octopus garden and pate. The service was the best I have experienced in the area for some time. The desserts were also great. I had the chocolate tart and my wife had bananas foster. A very pleasant evening. We will be back soon."

  • "This is one restaurant in Easton, MD that consistently continues to serve fabulous food. Their service is the best I have ever experienced - right from the way they greet you till you leave. You get personalized attention and never have to wait for your glass to be filled or for the plates to be removed. Their tasting menu is highly recommended. They also make cocktails off the menu and if you like a particular taste, just talk with Justin their bartender and he will make something nice for you! Loved their Silver Lining Cocktail. The risotto was the best ever!"

  • "We have had the pleasure of having dinner at Bartlett Pear Inn about 7 or 8 times. You would expect that at least one of those times there might be just a little something lacking. It never happens. They are consistently superior in every way. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is superb. Every time."

  • "4 of us went for the first time to celebrate Mom's 80th bday. What a great choice - a birthday card awaited her, and the wait staff was friendly but not fussy, prompt but not rushed. Started with some signature cocktails for the ladies - a really good mixologist; then some bread and salted butter (worth trying, i usually eschew the bread but...). The sepia was a great starter - tender, good grill flavor; the rack of lamb = 2 chops was perfectly cooked, well sauced, and had yummy veggies. The staff brought a chocolate soufflé with candle for dessert for us to share - molten inside, with a bit of creme anglaise...All around pretty close to perfect. Every table full but not too noisy. Wine list good spread of selections. Must go if in easton"

  • "One of the very best meals I've ever eaten with exemplary service and graciousness from all. Attention paid to every detail. Chef & hostess very personable & welcoming. Exceptional bartender signature drinks. You will not find a finer meal and dining experience. Don't pass up a chance to eat here!"

  • "We have been to the Bartlett Pear twice for dinner. Each time, it was simply a lovely experience. Service, food, and drinks were all excellent without being pretentious. Each time we are in town, we will return."

  • "Me and my wife went to the Bartlett Pear Inn and I wasn't happy with the food and the service for the price. Everytime we needed something to drink we had to ask for it. It cost us $185 for our meals without either of us drinking alcohol, I just had a tea and she drank water. The deserts weren't impressive either."

  • "The portion size was perfect for the main course. We finished our lobster and duck meals, and felt satisfied but not stuffed. The berry napoleon dessert was great too, not heavy. The best part was when my wife asked for gluten free bread and they came out with a roll that was lightly grilled. She said it was the best gluten free product she had ever tasted. The chef makes them ahead of time and freezes them for such occasions. Service was outstanding - we were even served by the chef himself."

  • "Valentines Day is a bad day to go out to eat but we felt Barlett Pear would hold up to the pressure of the day. We loved the guitar and the tastes were spectacular as were the deserts. As always the ambience and the service were outstanding."

  • "I took my wife to the Bartlett Pear after getting great recommendations from friends. We we cordially greeted at the door and treated royally throughout the night. We enjoyed a superior meal with excellent drinks, artisan cheeses, and of course a gourmet dinner. I would highly recommend you treat yourself and someone special to a relaxed yet upscale culinary experience."

  • "Spending the weekend in Easton we decided to have Saturday night dinner at the Bartlett Pear Inn. We were seated in front of the small fireplace which was attended throughout our meal. The service was top notch! We both had the local pork which was a pleasure to eat. BUT the dessert was the best!, the presentation was wonderful and tasted better. I do not remember the name but it was chocolate 4 times, (4 different items). The Inn is not only a restaurant but a B&B and it also had a very busy small Bar/Lounge. It is a must go to if you are visiting Easton."

  • "The Bartlett Pear is a must eat at restaurant. My wife and I make the two hour pilgrimage at least once a year for the amazing experience. From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave the staff and experience are perfect. The food is among the best we have had anywhere. The Bartlett Pear is the perfect place for an anniversary or birthday."

  • "We had the 5-course tasting menu and addl wine pairing. Everything tasted bland at best. Some salt or pepper on the table or an offer for fresh cracked black pepper may have helped. A sauvignon blanc was delivered for the 1st course. I asked our waitress where it was from. She didn't know, nor did she check and return with the information. (Which she may have wanted to do in case another customer asked?) When the second course was presented, the food runner said it was lobster bisque. It was not. Potato soup, per the waitress. After asking where the 2nd wine was from and her not knowing, I didn't bother asking again. She delivered the 4th course saying it was veal. Ooops, it was not. Instead, it was lamb with veal jus. *Way* overrated."

  • "We chose the tasting menu with wine pairings which was superbly done, although a little overpriced. Other menu options were more reasonably priced. Food was fresh, expertly prepared and presented. The table service was excellent in spite of a very busy dining room. Highly recommend."

  • "We were given a gift certificate to the Barlett Inn for Chritsmas from my son Ian, who lives and works in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Our experience started at the cozy bar. We had martinis at the bar and discussed wines and others drinks with the friendly and knowledgable bartender - he makes several innovative drinks using fruit. We then moved to the dining room, and after trying decide what to order, we decided to go with the chef's menu - 3 surpise courses, plus banana Oscar prepared tableside. The waiter was very pleasant and also knowledgable - helping us with some nice wine selections."

  • "After reading about the Bartlett Pear Inn in the Washingtonian's best restaurants issue, we decided to check the restaurant and the B&B out for an anniversary getaway. The restaurant and bar lived up to expectations. Justin, the very personable bartender, created such outstanding cocktails that we wished we could have kept going. The salmon was the best we ever recall tasting and the veal loin dish with sweetbreads was to die for. Service was impeccable. Our waitress, Kathleen, and the young man who assisted her were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent, again with exemplary service. We hope to return for another delightful experience."

  • "I've been wanting to try these guys out since I moved to Easton (4 years ago) but never really found the excuse. A friends birthday was Sunday, and I figured hey.... this is it, so my wife and I took him and his girl friend out for dinner. Everything was spot on, we decided to go for the chef's choice, and we certainly were not disappointed. Service was excellent and the food exquisite. It was slightly pricey for the neighborhood but, not overly so... as long as you realize what your getting into ahead of time you'll find the gem of Easton MD."

  • "Sat in the private back room. Mixologist/waiter, Justin (?) did a great job and handled some food allergies of one member of our party with professionalism and detailed knowledge of the dishes. Creative but not pretentious food. Kudos on the eclectic and concise wine list. Easton is very fortunate to have this quality of restaurant."

  • "We couldn't resist going for a second year to the Bartlett Pear Inn for New Years Eve dinner. Chef Jordan's culinary creations are beyond description. I had the Filet Mignon and and it actually melted in my mouth with indescribable flavor. The sweet potatoes were excellent and the sauce wonderfully good. The lights were low so take a light or iPhone to read the menu. The ambiance is very romantic. Our waitress was extremely helpful in assisting us in menu selections. She was very knowledgeable on how the food was prepared. The appetizers were small but incredibly tasty, She came back unobtrusively several time to see if we needed anything else. The chocolate four square dessert was to die for- big enough for two. Don't miss this one."

  • "If you are on the eastern shore or even in dc/Baltimore, you must eat here. The food is fantastic(best cooked steak i have eaten in a long time) and service rivals any fine dining establishment in the country. Jordan had established a jem in the rough and will remain the best in the shore for years to come. I can't wait until our next trip from San Diego to fine here again."

  • "Classic and nouvelle, started and finished with a very modern beet and carrot salad and chocolate four ways, in the middle, the classic Dover Sole for two, a wonderful anniversary dinner. Kelsey was superb, a teammate's dropped hot chocolate which sprayed my wife's white slacks, the only miss. Accidents happen Kudos to the cocktails and the dessert wine pairings as well"

  • "This was our fifth visit to Bartlett pear. The prior experiences have been memorable and we have recommended the restaurant to many friends over the years. This trip was unfortunately a disappointment. We took our kids (their second time to the restaurant) and another couple who are regulars. We decided to treat ourselves to the tasting menu. The food was good but the portions were minuscule and not special enough to make up for the skimpy portions. Two courses seemed particularly miserly; the beet and carrot salad and the cheese plate at the end. The Dover sole was a beautiful dish but again, small. The wine pairings were well done. I'm sure we'll give it another go in the future but felt a little burned by the price given our experience."
