A word from Barrio - Capitol Hill
Barrio is a restaurant that combines Mexican cuisine with innovative craft cocktails in an energetic urban environment.

Our menu takes a modern approach to Mexican Cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. To deliver the highest possible quality, we make most of our ingredients on-site, from our fresh tomato salsas to our handmade tortillas to our slow-smoked pork.

Dishes include everything from braised pork taquitos and ahi tuna crudo to dungeness crab rellenos and chile-rubbed carne asada.

Our cocktail and spirits program has been recognized as one of the strongest in the Puget Sound. In addition, we offer an excellent selection of beer and an array of wines (both by the glass and bottle).

Barrio is a solid Mexican restaurant - up in the top 5 in Seattle. We had the guacamole and salsa sampler, which is definitely worth it if you have a group of 3 or more. We also had the steak tacos and butternut squash and kale enchiladas. The enchiladas were amazing! The margaritas were also very tasty - try the ghost pepper if you like some kick! Highly recommend, will go again.

We had a table in a little booth for two on the far side of the bar and it was great - cozy, warm, much less noisy. If we had been seated in middle of the dining room we would had a harder time conversing. Service from both host and waitperson was outstanding. Food very good.

We didn't get a chance to try the food or even the drinks -- our drink order was taken after we had been there 15 minutes, but still hadn't been delivered 10 minutes later when we finally decided to leave. And while the place looks really cool, it's all hard surfaces -- metal and concrete -- so on a busy night it's unbearably loud. I couldn't hear anything my dinner companion was saying. Fortunately, we were able to get a space at the bar across the street where we were served immediately. I'm hoping we can go back sometime and try the food, but it will have to be for lunch, I think.

It was nice to be able to go to Capital Hill and find parking. Barrio has a parking garage which makes it easy to get to. Food is good. Noisy and vibrant group. Guac was good--salsa a bit too spicy for me. Big food portions. Nice lunch and brunch location.

Was visiting Seattle and picked Barrio as a last minute choice based on an available reservation on Open Table. Great cocktails followed by an awesome salad. The highlight of the evening was the Baja Fish Tacos and Spring Vegetable Cazuela. The fish were lightly battered and really tasty. The winning entree was the cazuela. All the vegetables had amazingly deep flavors and the poblano had a nice but manageable heat to it. Wow what an awesome dish. Restaurant decor was cute, loved the candles in a grid next to the bar.

Even the service was a little slow the place deserve a recommendation. It looks super fancy with beautiful interiors but the food is pretty accessible. We order 4 different dishes and they were delicious.. the only sad thing is that we went on Mexico's independence day (September 16th) and there wasn't anything about it. This are words from a mexican tourist.

We were visiting Seattle and stopped for lunch at Barrio. The tacos were fantastic, the guac amazing. We sat at windows flung open to the street and enjoyed the setting and the food. Only downside was the mango margarita. It was too tart to enjoy. Only finished half and the server never asked if there was a problem with the unfinished drink.

We went to Barrio for our 39th anniversary and everything about the evening was great. The wonderful waiter gave excellent suggestions from margaritas to which salsa for each of us to daily specials. It was a busy Saturday night but we were never rushed allowing us to remember and talk and talk about wonderful memories from a trip to Mexico from before we were married. We had 5 different tacos between us and each was brilliant and tasty. My wife and I had different favorites...but that is what helps our marriage last. The pork with caramelized pineapple was the best. Dinner ended with complimentary dark chocolate salted caramels which were to die for. Thank you, Barrio, for adding to our highlights of memories of 39 plus years.

We returned here to taste the chilaquiles only to find they've been relegated to the brunch menu. But no problem - we found the other food was equally tasty. Just two starters - grilled quesadillas with smoked mushrooms and then scallop & bacon fried rice. Both great - we should have asked for more rice or some soft tortillas - the sauce on the fried rice was that good. Excellent nacho chips too. The Albarino at $9 a glass was tasty.

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch so we ate from the Happy Hour menu. We ordered the chipotle braised chicken nachos, the rock fish ceviche, and a chile braised pork taco. The nachos were *amazing* and they give you a giant portion! The pineapple salsa with the fish was fresh and the red onion and fresno chile added great bite. I can't give specifics on the taco because only my husband ate it, but he left none behind so it must have been tasty. We sat right near the sidewalk on a sunny day and it was great to people watch and sip on a beer. Would definitely go back here again, and I highly recommend it!
