"Salads were nicely dressed, main meals and desserts were comfortable sized portions and very flavorful. The only reason the food didn't get 5 stars is that one of the four appetizers was served with a heavy cream sauce not mentioned by the server in the description of the specials. Otherwise everything was quite tasty. Wine list was good...definitely going back."

"I absolutely love the Bistro! The proprietors and staff are always so welcoming, helpful and friendly - and the service they provide is impeccable. The menu changes with some regularity, and there are always new and interesting items to try. I have never had anything less than an excellent meal at the Bistro, whether it be a casual lunch, formal dinner, one of their wine events - they never disappoint. The updates to their interior are very nice as well. I highly recommend the Bistro!"

"Interesting menu, very good food and service. Fair prices. Do not expect "French bistro" charm or atmosphere - the interior design does little to hide the fact that you're in a strip mall in the middle of nowhere."

"Barrington Country Bistro has been a staple for northwest suburban foodies for a long time, though it started to show signs of age several years ago. Not any more...the interior and the menu has been redone bringing much needed energy and excitement to the Bistro. They added small portions and prix-fixe options making it easy to sample more items from the menu.

The twice cooked duck leg is outstanding, tender and full of flavor. Every dish ordered be our party of four this evening received great reviews. Service matches the food- attentive and enthusiastic. The drink menu and wine list is fun as well.
