5 stars all around. I went into Barrett's on a Monday evening with my husband and we were absolutely blown away! The quality of our meals was exceptional, which we were surprised with being the prices were lowered. My husband ordered the meatloaf stack, a delightful change from standard, bland, meatloaf, and I ordered the Ahi Tuna, which was perfect - no other words to describe. The overall feel of the restaurant was warm and our server, Angela, was magnificent. She paid attention to every detail of our dining experience and was very helpful in the decision making process of our meals. The new owner, John Barrett, even stopped by our table and chatted with us - a nice touch! We will definitely become regulars!!!

I liked a fresh feeling of the restaurant interior: not fancy but not in any ways dull. Filet Napoleon (my choice) was just great and Maryland Crab cakes (the choice of my wife) were "better than in that more expensive place I had them last time." The service started by guiding us to the parking lot (the online maps mislead) and was great throughout the entire dinner.

Barrett's is Greystone by a different name, but the owners are not hiding that fact. The crab and corn soup is as incredible as ever, and the buffalo calamari is a fantastic addition to the menu. Everyone at the table enjoyed the mac and cheese side. The wine list has a nice selection from which to choose. I ordered my filet medium rare, and the chef did a decent job of preparing it, however the beef was warm while the side was hot ... a little disappointing, although there was good flavor. Service was friendly. For a quick night out, or as a place to comfortably wait for your teen who's at the movies, I'd go again.

Wow what a difference from lunch! I was very excited to take friends to dinner there as I have loved their lunch. But dinner was another story. The steak was tasteless. The crabcakes were so so and the service was awful. Took forever to get rolls and refills were a bit slow. Not sure what the issue was but we were disappointed

Formerly Greystone Grill, Barrett's Grill was very good. I would say it has improved since it was Greystone. The food and the service were very good. My favorite things on the menu are the Crab and Corn soup and the Steakhouse salad. Scallops appetizer is also very good. One thing that made it even better was it is a nice restaurant, but there are things on the menu for my teenagers. Prices weren't bad either.

The atmosphere was good. The service was good, however they are a little slow on refilling drinks and bread. 3 out of 4 of us had steaks, and they were NOT that good. Mine was ordered medium and it was medium well on the outer edge and rare at the bone. It tasted charred and had no seasoning at all. Its not often I use salt on a steak to make the flavor better, but I had too.

I knew I was going to like this restaurant when I walking to the front door and the door sprung open by this nice young lady with a smile on her face. She said "welcome to Barrett's, Have you dine with us before." She escorted us to our table and gave us a run down on all the new changes with the new ownership. Barrett's Grill which was Greystone Grill is a family owned business owned by a few local guys. There was a group of us there for lunch and the overall feeling was Barrett's is here to stay. The food came out fast and was delicious. We will be back soon.

We enjoyed our dining experience. Our server Molly was attentive and had a great smile. The Buffalo Calamari was very good. The food was served on time with just the right amount of time between salads and entrees. House salad is excellent with the raspberry viniagrette with blue cheese and cashews. The Strip steak melted in my mouth and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The meat loaf sandwich was a great combination with the melted cheese, crispy fried onion and the garlic bread. Lobster and Shrimp roll was a nice touch that would make up north proud. We enjoyed our visit

Go for lunch, go for dinner-you win either way! Starters included the crab and artichoke dip and the onion straws. Both excellent & enough for 4 people to share. Three people ordered the salmon, one ordered pork chops. The salmon was prepared perfectly. The two porks chops were large and meaty. Dinner was completed with Neapolian with fruit for dessert. Totally unlike the usual neapolian it was light and did not "weigh" anyone down! The servers seemed to work as a team, is they walked by your table they would take away used plates, fill a glass and the two managers visted our table (and I imagine others) to make sure everything was fine. (They were even helping!) Thanks Barrett's for a very nice evening. Matt, our server was great

GREG WAS OUR SERVER AND HE WAS THE BEST SERVER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, HANDS DOWN. THERE WERE 3 OF US AND THE FOOD WAS JUST OK, VERY DISSAPPOINTING BECAUSE WE WERE EXPECTING GREAT THINGS. MY SON GOT THE 8 OZ FILET AND ORDERED IT RARE...IT WAS COLD BOTH IN AND OUT. I ORDERED THE SPECIAL OF THE EVENING, A FISH WITH "CRAB IMPERIAL". THE FISH HAD A BONE IN THE FIRST BITE SO THAT RUINED IT FOR ME. ON THE PLUS SIDE IT WAS TOPPED WITH 5 VERY LARGE LUMPS OF BACKFIN CRAB MEAT. ON THE DOWN SIDE, EACH LUMP WAS BROWNED ON TOP LIKE IT HAD BEEN PUT UNDER THE BROILER BUT THE LUMPS WERE COLD AND THE "IMPERIAL SAUCE WAS PINK, THIN AND TASTELESS. NOT EVEN SURE WHAT KIND OF SAUCE TO CALL IT BUT DEFINATELY NOT A CRAB IMPERIAL?

Positive first visit to Barrett's Grill. We made a reservation and were greeted by a few friendly host at the front door. We were promptly seated and greeted by Don. Our server was friendly and efficient in the service standards. Our food exceeded our expectations for a local independent. The crabcakes are all lump and were fantastic. The fresh fish special was delicious. The Lobster and Shrimp roll was prepared perfectly. A New England favorite with a little twist. Lite and refreshiing. The restaurant was also affordable. Great Food and Service. A place you can now afford to go and get a great quality meal and take in a movie.

We visited the Greystone Grill 3 times when it was at this location. We stopped going because we were served the wrong dishes on every single visit. Barrett's Grill has retained many of the same employees and managers, yet we were hopeful that the problems had been fixed. Sadly, they have not. While waiting for our entrees, someone at the table next to us had ordered crab cakes, and they were brought a chicken dish. We ordered a crab cake entree and a chicken entree, and they brought 2 chicken entrees. It's a shame that they have such problems, because the food is good. My chicken breast was cooked perfectly and the crab cake had huge lumps of crab meat. Unfortunately, the poor service overshadows the good food. We won't be back.

We started with our servers recommendation of a dish called shrimp cargo which was amazing. I had the crabcakes which were all jumbo lump with very little filler. My wife had a special they were running which was a filet of King Klip Fish on a shrimp sauce with a tomato corn and avocado relish. It was awesome. We have been here in the past and were not that impressed. I have to tell you that the new ownership is working wonders. We will return in the near future for some more great food and service

Lovely live jazz music the night we visited - the trio even took special requests from us. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir (it was half price!)and the Sangria was a big hit at our table. We loved the shrimp cargo and tenderloin skewers for apps and the ribeye steaks (ordered by 3 of us) were cooked to near perfection. The tilapia special was flavorful as well. Our server, Jeremy, was wonderful - very attentive and very knowledgable of the menu and the innkeepers wine list. The energy & ambiance, delicious food, great wine list, and the courteous staff will definitely draw us back! Very glad to have another great restaurant to the Hunt Valley/Cockeysville area!
