BarracaGreat Sunday BrunchWe brought family from Florida to Sunday Brunch and it was excellent. Food and service we very good and their $3.00 Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's were a real treat in NYC where drink prices are always a shocker. Will definitely be back.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BrunchWonderful place for Sunday brunch. Must have Fig Martini5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBarraca is an attractive openBarraca is an attractive open space that has a Spanish feel. We only had tapas so I can't comment on the paella or other main dishes. The coca de salmon stood out, as did the shrimp in saffron sauce. Although the waiter promoted the croquetas, the four of us found them bland. My husband, the meat lover, liked the chunks of lamb (cordero). The delicately fried potatoes that come with the little chunks of fried fish were very good, the fish itself not so interesting. The coca de rasberries we had for dessert was very good, not too sweet and very refreshing. The service was speedy but a little pushy. They seem to really want to make money from drinks, the waiter asked us twice to order drinks before we had a chance to look at the menu.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atmosphere, very friendlyGreat atmosphere, very friendly staff, responsive to diners needs but not over the top. Excellent Sangria!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHostesses are kind, helpfulHostesses are kind, helpful and charming. They are sisters (twins) and helped my friend and I find our way uptown from Greenwich Village. Food portions are relatively larger than other tapas restaurants. Recipes are innovative and presentation was A+. Will be back.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome paella. We got theAwesome paella. We got the Tierra Paella and it was delicious. We also had pan con tomate and a flat bread with grilled veggies and they were just okay--not on the same level as the paella.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful service, great food.Wonderful service, great food. It was a friends 25th birthday and they not only brought her a special cocktail for the occasion but then brought desert for the table. The manager checked in on us throughout the meal to make sure we were happy. Will definitely be returning.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat friendly service, wonderfulGreat friendly service, wonderful tapas dishes with some twists and innovative cocktails. Well worth a visit.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWest Village Spanish Gem: Go HungrySo good. Convivial atmosphere and highly accommodating staff (asked to move away from large, loud party of six or more; not a problem). Best go early for quiet experience. Third time and food is consistently good, fresh, complex, well-conceived and authentic - with a great wine list and sommelier to boot. My only hint for would-be patrons is always remember to not mix up Greenwich St. and AVENUE and get lost. As I've done every time, as a local.. Good for burning off a few calories, though, in the nicest of neighborhoods. A pleasure.
Particularly enjoyed the Croquetas de Setas y Pollo app (do split, as it's rich), flatbreads, ensalada de remolacha. Next up? Paella night.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Brunch Spot!Great brunch in a beautifully open space with a comfortable, modern design. Expecting nothing less from the Rayuela/Macondo team, this was great. This was needed on the West side. Pimms w fresh ginger cocktail paired w delicious pancakes and duck confit coca is the way to go! Service comfortable, easy, neighborhoody. Thank you Pablo.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
