  • "Food took almost two hours to arrive because of an error in the kitchen. When it finally did, we only received half of the items we ordered. Waiter was unapologetic and evasive. Terrible experience all around."

  • "My experience at Barraca was definitely worth it. I was with a group for a friend's birthday and everything went perfectly. We all had an amazing and memorable time. Our server Eugene made the day what it was. The food and drinks were great. Very tasty Spanish food with a unique twist. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a great time!"

  • "I purchased the unlimited sangria brunch deal through Urban Daddy and it was great. Definitely got a good deal out of it (at least 4-5 drinks and anything off the menu). Food was good but nothing incredible and the many sangria options were fun and not overly fruity. Good atmosphere and space. Service was good except took a while to get a couple things (another drink/straw etc)."

  • "I visited Barraca last Sunday for brunch with friends. We had bought a deal on UrbanDaddy and it was a $25 bottomless brunch. We could pick 1 entree + bottomless sangria for 2 hours. We ordered a couple of tapas as well - the dates wrapped in bacon & the bruschetta (my favorite of the two). I ordered the Huevos Benedictos, with Serrano ham, and it was really good! The sangria was amazing too. I tried a few different kinds and they were all really fresh. Unfortunately, our service was lackluster. Our waitress was covering the outdoor space as well and barely came back to check on us. So we had to ask other servers for more sangria and only had 3 drinks each in the 2 hours we were there. I'd go back for the food, but the service was poor."

  • "When Barraca started to follow me in Instagram I knew he was the one! I needed a spacious locale for a brunch date with a couple friends. We loved it so much we were there from 2-8. Quiet a brunch eh? The music was energetic just like the ambiance. The food was superb. The staff was a bit slow but considering the amount of people this place generated , its understandable. The sangria were to die for. We will all definitely be returning!"

  • "Decent food & sangria but service needs an improvement. The wait staff failed to check up on us throughout the meal - we had to flag people down as they were constantly forgetting things. It took forever for us to get our food & drinks. The staff continued to open the door right in front of our table despite us repeatedly asking for them to close it as it was relatively windy and chilly out. There are too many other great places in the city to go to - I wouldn't recommend this place"

  • "Although it was a relatively warm evening (around 45 degrees), they had the heat pumping through the hot bench which was practically cooking our bottoms. The waiter confirmed the hot air emanating from between our legs and it was shut off temporarily. It went back on and became so uncomfortable that we had to leave. Several tapas were good including tomato bread and Serrano ham. The meatballs were wimpy. We shared a paella which was very disappointing. I have been to Spain many times and have eaten good (and bad) paellas. For 50 bucks (for 2) I would expect something more than some burnt rice and a smattering of sorry looking shellfish. Despite leaving a paella pan three quarters full, no one bothered to ask her about our meal."

  • "This place never disappoints! The food is awesome (especially the paella) and the service is always exceptional! I have been here for numerous dinners and love coming for special occasions (birthdays etc.) because it is always a memorable night. This time, we had ordered some appetizers and when our paella didn't come out right away (20 minutes tops), our attentive waiter brought us two extra appetizers on the house! This is truly one of my favorite NYC restaurants."

  • "I went with a group of friends for brunch and the food and drinks were good. The waitor was new and didn't know much about the menu and didn't seem to try and find out any answers to our questions. We went a little later in the day and they ran out of some of the different sangrias and didn't seem like they would be making any more. We used an urbandaddy perk and the check came to us messed up then once fixed and paid the manager came back to us to say we still had a balance because the waitor did not add his tip. The check already had a tip included and I have never heard of a restaurant messing up a check then making the customer pay a balance as it was their fault. Minus the these issues and food and space was good."

  • "First, to be fair, we went during restaurant week. Table all the way in the back, no view, kitchen noises and smells. Service wasn't very good because the place was crowded. All of that's forgivable but the food was just mediocre. Not a single dish was memorable and several were weak. Walk into any tapas place in Spain and you'll get better food. The wine list is good, but it's also pricey. I expected a lot more from the former chef of Gastroarte uptown, which was delicious and inventive and sophisticated. There's nothing inventive, delicious or sophisticated going on at Barraca unfortunately."

  • "I had been to Barraca once before, so was looking forward to returning with a friend. The service here was great -- friendly hosts and wait staff and a nice, chic atmosphere. Also, the sangria was awesome! We absolutely loved our drinks. The problem was the paella. I have never had a paella that was more bland. The table to our left asked for salt and pepper; the table to our right did the same. My friend and I simply left 2/3 of the paella, eating the fish but figuring the rest frankly wasn't worth the calories. I would recommend this restaurant for drinks at the bar, but I can't commend the food. For a bill over $100, I really expected better."

  • "Went for Restaurant week dinner. Group of 6, ordered 3 paellas because it's one paella for two people, but it's so big it could feed 3. My only complaint that it was just mostly rice and not much other stuff in it. I know paella is a mostly rice dish but this basically felt like all I was eating was just rice with barely anything in it. Tapas were amazing, Dessert was a sweet ending!"

  • "Food was pretty good, the ambiance quite nice, but the service left something to be desired. The waiter was hardly paying attention to my friend and me as we ate. It took about 20 minutes to get a second glass of sangria and about 30 minutes to get the bill at the end of our meal. I did really enjoy the dates with bacon and the overall feel of the restaurant. Normally I absolutely love Brussels sprouts, but the ones here were bitter and not that tasty. There was a variety of Sangria to choose from which was nice, but I have had better elsewhere. Overall I'd say the place was about average. Not sure I would go back with so many fantastic places here in the city."

We hadn't heard the restrictions associated with RW being an all or nothing offer for each table (meaning everyone has to order the pre fix or no one can) but the manager Alfredo did a great job of explaining their policy and making sure that we had the best possible experience once we sorted out our order. The food was good, especially the dates! Overall it was a very good dinner."

On top of all of this, the food was delicious and different! Not just your typical omelette/pancake place. Highly highly recommended, especially if you're able to snag the Urban Daddy deal for $25 unlimited brunch! (Otherwise, unlimited is $15 for sangria + your entree order.)"

  • "Went with high hopes. 2pm. 80% full. Here's the list: - Sticky table top, had surface that could be scrapped off with finger nail. - potatas served late at end of meal and were soggy, not crispy (looked like they had sat, waiting to be delivered). No spicy sauce. - roasted peppers w salt (very tasty) but no salt delivered with dish. Had to ask. - bacon wrapped dates did not have any blue cheese. - citrus flan delivered late and cold. (tasted good) bathrooms not up to par, no hand towels. Poor communication between waiters and servers. Roasted Kale flat bread was excellent as were roasted peppers. Shrimp was OK, par, nothing special. Sangria choices were good. All and all, a hot spot that did not deliver on expectations."

  • "Really solid tapas place that we've been for dinner three times. We decided to catch brunch there for the bottomless sangria. Plain and simple my favorite sangria in the city, variety of concoctions including the de la Mancha, Barcelona, and Compostela favorites. The food from reliables like patatas bravas, pimientos de padron, tortilla and so on all deliver. Good crowd but not overwhelming and not a tough reservation yet. Go enjoy the $15 bottomless sangria deal while it lasts. We'll be back soon."
