Despite our reservation, we had to wait 25 min near the bar where it was so noisy I could hardly hear. We finally got a table at the far end where noise level was much more reasonable. The "3 for 30" portions for appetizer and dessert were tiny (but good). Main course was excellent and a reasonable portion. We took our own wine (a Barolo, of course) and the waiter opened it nicely and poured our first glass and then left it to us to pour the rest (which is what we like). Overall, it is probably not a repeat for us.

Heard great things so we went for our anniversary. Great atmosphere loved the candlelight at the table which gave great ambiance. Wine selection was great started with a wonderful Barbera. For starters we had the Butternut squash soup and Ahi tuna tartar. Unfortunately, the butternut squash soup had no flavor and was quite watery so disappointing it seemed like the cream or stock was left out of the soup. Had to add a lot of salt/pepper. Then noticed another couple complain about the soup and they graciously gave them a new one, but never attempted to come back to our table about the soup, decided not to make a big deal out of it. The Ahi tuna tartar was awesome full of flavor melted in your mouth.Overall good experience, just fix the Soup

Ambiance by far was the most captivating feature. Service matched comparably well, too. Presentation of the food, both appetizers and mains, were artful and appealing. While the appetizers met my expectations of a restaurant of this caliber, the main dish (dungeness crab pasta) lacked considerably. Too much saltiness, which blunted the dish's overall flavor.

Barolo was an excellent find. The food was outstanding and the server was very willing to assist in a selection and was never one to rush - the host also came by prior to dessert to see how things were going. We had a great table in the back corner of the restaurant which count down on the noise but the restaurant was still quite energetic. The restaurant did all that they could to make our experience the best possible and gave us a great table to set the mood. Never did we feel rushed - in fact as we went to the bar since we were a bit early and the bar area was busy and a bit loud the host came over to offer our table to us early so that we could have the time to ourselves - an outstanding gesture. We highly recommend Barolo.

I was a bit concerned about taking my mom here for her 79th birthday because I heard it was small (and perhaps therefore noisy) and the food might be a little too much on the foodie side for her. However, the environment felt intimate, not small (even with our table in the middle of the room). The food was excellently prepared and presented and the service attentive and personal. Everyone loved everything we had (rack of lamb, roasted chicken, scallops, gnocchi with pheasant and linguine with rabbit). The salads and antipasti were great too. I'll definitely go back.

Full restaurant, busy! Too loud, especially with pounding music in the background. Waitress tried to be nice, but really wasn't very good- never lit the candle at our table, didn't bring a water carafe, brought my cocktail after appetizers when the bottle of wine was already 1/2 finished. Food actually very good-- appetizers excellent, pasta delicious. Osso Bucco slightly dry.

Calamari (appetizer) was fishy - not very good (we told server and she said she'd tell the chef - they didn't remove it from bill, despite the fact that we each had about 2 pieces); it seems like they had one server during lunch (Rather slow service); ravioli was great; pork tenderloins seemed like chicken. Excellent dinner and service all around. The cheese plate with the homemade raspberry chutney was fantastic, and my crab spaghetti was perfect. It's around the corner from Pacific Place, so it was a great place to have dinner and then see a movie. It has an "in crowd" upscale atmosphere, it's definitely not a place to take the younger kids, and it's pretty loud once it fills up.

Food is near the top tier for Seattle, but the service needs work. Prices are reasonable. Our server was friendly, but seemed in a bit over her head. Maitre D was great, got us the best table and helped with wine. The foie gras was sliced a bit thin, but overall the kitchen did a fine job. My wife, who is NOT a pasta person, really enjoyed the pasta. They even did a good job with my real cream latte. Bar is very loud and there are only a few good quiet tables in the restaurant - the moderate rating applies to part of the restaurant, the rest would be "loud." If you can get one of the good tables, the ambiance is good. They can make a very large table so a large party can sit together. Recommended.

Our needs were constantly met and we were wished a Happy Anniversay THREE times. An extensive list of Italian wines. The food was delicious and prepared with creativity and expertise. Of note, I would have liked to seen a nice Tuscan bread served with their olive tapanade instead of the the french baguette. Otherwise spot on. We look forward to our next visit.

The food gets an A+. Our server gets an A. The vibe gets an A too. All that being said, it was too noisy for us to carry on a conversation. We were seated in a booth and it wasn't a typical booth. It was a u-shaped booth and that made it difficult for the two people and the ends of the booth to hear one another. I think it's the way the space is designed. On the flip side, all that noise gives it a good energy.
