"I've eaten at Barolo many times, and I'm usually very happy. Easter was the first time I've been there for a special menu, and I have to say that all four of us at the table were disappointed. Between us, we had everything on the menu, except for one dessert. The first courses were very good, but the entrees were only edible. All four of us had the chocolate cake for dessert, and I didn't even eat it, it was so dry and flavorless! I can't recommend them for special menus, unfortunately, but I will probably continue to go on days they have the regular menu."

"Pastas were the best part of the meal, apps a little bland and underseasoned, chicken entree was ok, panna cotta was tasty but the port soaked cherries had the consistency and flavor of prunes - service was awkward"

"First off, the wine list is amazing. All price points are covered, but the best part of was "The Wines of Piemonte" one of the 20 regions of Italy located in the very northwestern part of the country. Though we had to ask for an explanation, I am glad we did. Barolo is a small town in the Piedmont from which the food is inspired, so it made perfect sense to order wine from the same area. They start you off with warm bread and a yummy marinara dipping sauce. We found every dish to be well thought-out and delicious: Minestrone soup, stuffed trout, chicken and polenta and lobster ravioli. The service was attentive, if somewhat timid, but we had a wonderful evening and I can hardly wait to return and show my "city" friends our new find."

"We go to Barolo several times a year and it is consistently good. The recent remodel cured the noise problem that could be distracting before. Great service. The owners are friendly and want you to enjoy the experience."
