  • "The food was beyond fine, the staff was all friendly and very helpful."

  • "Everything was wonderful. The service was excellent with just the right amount of attention. I am looking forward to going back to try the many other dishes that I debated over before deciding on the amazing flavor combinations from the buffalo, cheese and mint appetizer, the arugula salad, the porcini pasta pockets, the halibut and tri colored cauliflower to the hazelnut moose dessert. Each course was delightful."

  • "Out waiter did an excellent job of helping us to pick out a selection from the menu to suite our tastes. The ambiance was great, and the food was unique and well prepared. Each course was served with an explanation of ingredients, and the menu was suited to the season."

  • "So our friends RAVED about Barolo Grill so we knew we had to try it out. We did the other night and frankly, while everything was obviously very high quality and extremely well presented, I just didn't like most of what they prepared. We opted for the 5 course prix menu at $65ea + the $45ea wine pairing. Ultimately, several were just kind of weird, a couple we "good" and the main course was quite good - but still not excellent if you ask me. And several of the wine pairings were very good, but most were meh. We ended up spending nearly $300 total for 2 people and even though again, the food was very high quality and obviously done with care and craft... I just didn't like most of it. Maybe my tasted are too regular. Staff is great."

  • "Barolo Grill is always a true treat. Blair Taylor is a most gracious host and the service staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. The fod is some of the best northern Italien to be found."

  • "We've always had good experiences at Barolo grill in the past, but hadn't been there in a couple years and were disappointed by the food on this most recent visit. The appetizer was great (calamari), but everything was downhill from there. We ordered fish entrees, and they were beautifully presented, but did not have much flavor. I've had much better fish at chain restaurants. On a positive note, we had terrific, friendly service. However, given the price, we would choose Frasca every time and probably won't go back to Barolo Grill."

  • "We were with friends who we had not seen for quite a while but wait staff sporadically checked back with us...had to ask to have order taken. In fairness, this was first night they were back after some time taken off and were quite busy but we have not been there when it was not quite busy. Wine selection was good and food was excellently prepared and pleasing to the eye."

  • "Enjoyable evening, but wasn't wowed. Sevice was a bit spotty but maybe because the staff had jet lag from just getting back from Italy. Drink orders seemed to take too long including coffees with dessert. Coffees arrived mid dessert. Tasty food but seemed over priced for what you got. The decor seemed a bit out of date."

  • "First thing you will notice about this place is the warm welcome and super friendly staff. We had made a reservation for 6.45 PM, and we had reached there at 6:40 PM. Valet parking was provided and we were at our table in less than a minute. Super friendly and amazing amazing food."

  • "Food was good, but not excellent, what we have come to expect. The small portion of the spaghetti was al dente."

  • "This is one of my favorite places in Denver. Not only is the food amazing but the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell they really know their stuff!"

  • "We loved Barolo so much last year when we went for our anniversary, that we decided to make it a tradition. We enjoyed it every bit as much the 2nd time around. Great food, great service, wonderful wine list."

  • "Food was bland, little taste. Beautiful presentation, but not any real taste treat. A place to be seen and show off!"

  • "This is our favorite place for dinner. The food is spectacular and the service is impeccable. Adrianne is top notch."

  • "Barolo is a Denver institution. The food is amazing and authentic. The flavors are amazing and the ingredients are locally derived, which drives the changing menu. If you're looking for amazing food, this is the place to go. The restaurant itself is attractive, but not especially beautiful. This is really a foodie place, not a place to be seen. The only downfall of this restaurant is the cost, which is relatively expensive. But it's certainly worth it for a special occasion."

  • "Dining at Barolo is always a pleasure and a special event for us. The food is always interesting and tasty, and the service, outstanding. It's an overall very fun and great food experience. If one likes Italian, one should eat here."

  • "It was my wife's birthday and we were looking for a special place to celebrate. We came to Barolo on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The service, food and atmosphere were all outstanding. I had the chef's menu while my wife had the halibut. We we recommend either choice. We will plan a return visit in the near future."

  • "We were given a gift card from a friend as a welcome gift for moving to Denver. Our experience couldn't have been better and the food was divine. Although expensive, Barolo is truly worth it with wonderful food and very knowledgeable staff. We'll certainly be back again!"

  • "You look at the menu and you want to try everything without being too full - they can make this happen. Everything we tried was delicious and worth a pretty full belly when you leave."

  • "We reserve Barolo for special occasions as it's a bit pricey. But it always pleases: great food, great service."

  • "This is another case of the surroundings being better than the food. Very nice place, great decor and service but the food is just ok. The salad was excellent, the appetizer, ok and the main course was average. It was technically cooked correctly, the lamb was tender, the pasta was al dente, but the sauce was a bit bland and nothing about the dish stood out. We have been wanting to try this place for sometime and was disappointed. We keep going back and forth whether we want to give it a second chance."

  • "Wonderful wait staff, wonderful adventure in food and wine. Thanks for a great evening."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "This used to be one of our favorite dining locations. However, the quality and service from the kitchen has changed. Perhaps, the restaurant was too busy on Saturday night and the kitchen could not deliver in a quality and timely manner. The wrong appetizer was delivered to start this experience. That result was a considerable wait. Following another lengthy delay, one of the entrees came dry without any of the browned butter sauce, the key ingredient. After requesting the sauce, it came a while later. The server understood the considerable delays and kindly asked to comp our dessert. When they finally came, the kitchen forgot the chocolate sauce on the profiteroles. Thus, another delay and insufficient chocolate provided."

  • "We stumbled onto Barolo grill looking for a place with good food on a Thursday night after our kids' lacrosse game. And what a wonderful surprise we found! We looked like quite a motley crew, but the wonderful staff at Barolo grill didn't even bat an eye. (We were not expecting it to be a white tablecloth place). Everything on the menu looked fantastic, so we decided to try the chef's tasting menu. The whole meal was absolutely delicious and our wait staff was knowledgeable, attentive and very friendly. They treated our children like they were special guests. We loved everything about our experience and would definitely highly recommend it to anyone. We will certainly be back. Go there. You won't regret it!"

  • "Great food with top notch service. This restaurant has never let me down."

  • "Barolo Grill serves good food with attentive service. However, the tasty sauces are rich in oil or butter and cream. I had sea bass, which was delicious, but a small portion of fish on top of a very large portion of farro, rich with cream and butter. My husband had beef loin steak, which was flavorful, but chewy. Prices are expensive."

  • "Barolo is a gem of a restaurant. The menu has a nice variety. The combination of accompaniments and sauces made the halibut, sea bass, pasta and pork tenderloin scrumpsious. The wait staff are very knowledgable and receptive to your needs. And...this is in a neighborhood, easy to find."

  • "Nice restaurant for folks who know food & wine well."
    Dined on 6/4/2014
  • "For the price, I have to say that the food was fairly unremarkable. Many of the dishes were fairly bland and my steak was overcooked. The buffalo carpaccio was terrific and the duck entrée got high marks from my mother. The wine list prices are bordering on obnoxious (you shouldn't have to flip through page after page to find a bottle priced under $250...). If the bill was closer to $50/head, I'd give Barolo higher marks. When paying over $100/head, I expect to be blown away. The service was quite good, we just wish she was bringing us more exciting dishes."

  • "Being from East Coast, this is a very different approach to Italian food. Limited pasta selection. The Souffle ai Funghi was an excellent appetizer. My son had the Fritto Misto and the calamari was rubbery. My wife had the Gnocchi con Ragu and it was tasteless. I had the Grilled Free Range Hen and it was over seasoned. The mushrooms on the side were overly salted. The deserts were ok, nothing to rave about."
