Positive experience butWhen we return again, . We would request a quieter table. The noise level was very high. My husband wears a hearing aid - very difficult for him to hear me. Other wise we enjoyed the experience very much.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb dining in Woodinville, WAOur party of four enjoyed a delightful brunch and a superb dinner on a beautiful Saturday in June: wonderful food, great service, delightful setting - an excellent choice for dining while on a tour of wineries or attending a concert at Chateau St. Michelle winery across the road.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA Place Worth the TravelThis is a restaurant that you will want to go back to again and again. Everything about is wonderful.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLong drive for a very good meal.Driving from Magnolia to Woodinville is a test but worth the money and toll spent to get there and back. Once there we found the watstaff freindly and noteabley fast. The food was very, very good. Every thing was tasty with the exception of the mixed greens in the mista salad. Great dressing, nice candied nuts, romaine and other lettices were fresh, but the spinich ans arugula were stemmy and were wooden to the taste. Otherwise a great dining experience.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood experienceWe were recently in Seattle for our honeymoon and spent our first night at the Willows Lodge with dinner at the Barking Frog. We were both so exhausted from our wedding weekend and travel that the service and relaxing atmosphere at both were a welcome breath of fresh air. We felt very taken care of and were pleased with our first experiences in the Seattle area. We would definitely do it again.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Blend of Casual and NiceNot stiff or formal at all, but a great casual environment with good service, very good food and a fantastic NW wine list. Definitely recommend it, but be forewarned that the acoustics make for a slightly noisy environment. Good for the energy level, but sometimes interferes a bit with conversation at the table. If, like us, you value "local feel" and local wine, this is among the best on the Eastside.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE LOVE LOVE!We love the Barking Frog and go there 1-2 times a year. The fact that they have our main (ok, my) favorite thing ever - Grand Marnier Prawns - as a primary staple, makes my heart (and stomach) leap for joy each time I dine here. Food is always exceptional. Wines are delicious. Food servers are very knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes you have to wait longer than necessary - but it's completely worth the wait.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTaste Sensation!I have never before experienced such a culinary combination of flavor, color and texture. Every bite created an unexpected taste sensation! The menu was eclectic and varied. Our server created an experience that I will return to again and again.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMService 2nd to noneThe staff seem to enjoy themselves as much as the patrons... Super friendly & professional service! The menu & wine list are to die for. The Rib Eye & Seared Scallops are excellent choices.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food and serviceBeen to Barking Frog several times... food and service is consistently excellent. Our waiter, Michael, was wonderful. .. definitely our fave for brunch!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWill be back for brunch! We really liked the energy of this place. They had a simple kid's menu which made it easy for my daughter to make her choice. I was worried about having a young child there, but it was very kid friendly! The food and service were great, and the portion sizes were large. Not terribly expensive, even considering we ordered mimosas and "dessert" (basket of beignets). My daghter asked to go back again the next morning, so this is a winner for us. Not an every weekend place, but we will definitely be back for brunch.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at the Barking FrogVery nice brunch, actually passed on breakfast and went for the Mac and Cheese (love it)!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch & serviceWe came here for brunch as a special treat and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and service was impeccable. The Dungeness crab cake benedict was awesome! Hope to go back soon!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FishMy wife had the salmon and I had the sea bass, and both were excellent. The service and wine selection were great.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent and portionsFood was excellent and portions generous. Service was friendly and responsive. We'll definitely be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother incredible experienceBarking Frog and Bobby Moore have done it once again! I planned to take my father-in-law there for his 70th birthday (first time there). The oysters were amazing and the Grand Mariner Prawns were heavenly. We then went to the salad round and the 6 of us shared 3 of their salads, crab, beet and seasonal fresh greens. Again, ALL amazing! Our main course by far took the icing on the cake. Filet's, Halibut and Cod were ordered and LOVED by all. I truly think that this is one of my favorite restaurants around town due to the service and great overall dining experience!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfect meal, from the lavenderA perfect meal, from the lavender infused champagne cocktails to the beet salad with chevre panna cotta to the King salmon (my companion had halibut that was just as good). Excellent attentive service with good advice about wine. A real treat!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLIves up to hypeWe had oysters and fois appetizers followed by sirloin and lamb loin for dinner. The entire meal was outstanding, service was impeccable and the wine list was world class. I've seen the other reviews and the bottom line is don't come here if you can't or won't pay a premium for the very best. On the other hand, if you're one of those loaded local MSFT execs. or you want to impress your jaded friends (like me) then this is the place to come for dinner. Loved it!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMrequest a more quiet tableI brought a client to the restaurant and we were seated adjacent to the bar which had a crowd of people. We basically had to shout at each other to have conversation...5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual the food was wonderfulAs usual the food was wonderful and the staff very outgoing, courteous and prompt but not pushing. We have been to the restaurant many times but brought two couples with us that had not been there before. Everyone was pleased with their choices and were talking about when they would return.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Burger in Woodinville...though I just had one there a few weeks ago so this time it was the scrambled eggs, bacon. All was great. Sat outside and enjoyed it.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDate night outing we loved! We had a lovely meal and really enjoyed sitting on the patio. The water feature, great weather, and quiet of the patio made for a great romantic evening. We loved the great food combined with the nice, but relaxed atmosphere. We liked the unique combinations or flavors in what we ordered- the sweet onion sorbet that came with the oysters, the avocado grapfruit black pepper and white chocolate parfait. We will definitely be going back. So nice to have a really nice place you don't need to go downtown to enjoy.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible VisitMy wife and I were there for our 24th Anniversary. We have been to the Willows before and have eaten at the Barking Frog prior to this also. The staff was amazing, the wine list was extensive (we were given assisstance selecting the perfect bottle) and the food was perfect. Thanks to the Willows and the Barking Frog for a wonderful weekend.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBarking FrogI took my wife and a friend to The Barking Frog for my wife's 40th birthday celebration and we couldn't have been more pleased. We first ate their for Valentine's Day 2012 and have wanted to return. Since it was mid-week it was not very crowded. Our waiter, Bill, was very knowledgeable and attentive and the food was excellent, as usual. We started with specialty cocktails and continued with selections from their extensive wine list throughout the evening. My wife and her friend both got the scallops and I got the beef tenderloin. All of it was excellent. The Barking Frog is always an excellent choice for fine, casual dining for any occasion.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love taking our out ofWe love taking our out of town guests here for lunch on a sunny day - and dine outdoors!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Secretary DayI took my secretary and office manager there to celebrate office administrator day. Both loved it. Good food, reasonably priced. Got lucky and arrived on a sunny northwest day in May so we ate outside. I liked the brightness of being outside.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGood lunch experienceEnjoyed their specialty crab and bacon wrapped prawn salad. The have a big wine list, but I was driving so I couldn't enjoy it.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent All AroundMy wife and I enjoyed the food very much. Our server was excellent as she was knowledgable and candid. The Root Manhattan otherwise know as a Pennsylvania Dutch was unique and tasty. Good wine list and nice atmosphere. Definitely going back and looking forward to it. Ken4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and delectableA sleepy Monday afternoon, and a planned visit to the Barking Frog. The two of us old gals taking a friend on her first visit, and hoping the soup of the day would be one we had on a prior visit, the Potato Leek. To our total taste bud delight, we hit the jackpot and the Potato Leek was being served. We were delighted. The meal was terrific, and the wait staff gave us all the time we needed to eat and chat. Thank you Barking Frog for another great afternoon.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMRecommend Barking FrogGreat brunch. We have gone to Barking Frog many times. Wonderful ambience, food and service. Warm and inviting atmosphere. The food never disappoints and the bar makes killer Bloody Marys. Will definitely return. Great experience.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always make the BarkingWe always make the Barking Frog a must for dinner when we visit the Seattle area. The staff is the best, the food is superior and always fresh. Let the staff recommend the wine. They are always spot on, and you get the adventure of trying a new wine that always compliments your dinner. The huckleberry pancakes for breakfast are to die for. You will not be disappointed.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis dining event was a treat. This dining event was a treat. Food was delicious and it was nice to sit outside by the water fountain on a rare sunny day.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was so good but serviceThe food was so good but service person was not good.
We enjoyed our dinner and wine over all.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Roast Chicken with RisottoThe Roast Chicken with Risotto is amazing. The Eggs Benedict is pedestrian. Sometimes the service is great, sometimes, not so much. Still, I would definitely recommend them just for the wonderful Roast Chicken alone.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, Bobby and his crewAs always, Bobby and his crew did a fantastic job. The food was impressive -- both the salmon special and the scallops were done to perfection, the service was very good, resulting in another memorable experience. With so many great choices in the Seattle area, it's one of the few restaurant we return to again and again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Barking Frog forWe went to Barking Frog for our 3rd year wedding anniversary, and I called them to mention that I'd be having a florist bring flowers on the afternoon before our reservation. But that was all I mentioned, making no other requests. However, the staff were amazing, aware of our anniversary, and spiriting our enjoyment with a gift from the staff, as well as writing 'Happy Anniversary!' in chocolate cursive writing on the dish of our dessert!
And the food itself was more than enough to convince us that we'll be returning. Soft and tender, succulent and flavorful, a feast of varieties both exquisite and delightful.
One final note is flexible. With a few allergies (dairy & mushroom), they were happy to adjust things to modify their menu.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBananas. Love BF! EverytimeBananas. Love BF! Everytime I go I love. It more and more. Food is incredible! Can't wait to go back!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were exceptional.Food and service were exceptional. Thought dining room was too loud, and wine prices were too high which is why I would not recommend or go back.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe made a reservation throughWe made a reservation through Open Table and even though the place was packed (last day of Restaurant Week) our table was ready on time. The appetizer and entree were delicious. My experience with dessert a few days previous, was that the salted caramel chocolate mousse was too salty. This time my lemon sorbet was too tart. I overheard the diner next to me make the same comment.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNice eveningWe came here during restaurant week and my husband and I both thought the selection was great in the entrees. They had wine paring if you wanted which is always a nice suggestion. Overall, the food, service and ambiance were outstanding.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Restaurant Week lunchGreat Restaurant Week lunch experience. We also paid an extra $15 for three wine pairings with our meal. great experience.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter hearing good reportsAfter hearing good reports about Barking Frog for several years, I had high expectations. And they were met and exceeded at the three-course $15 lunch. Superb food, good wine, excellent service and a pleasing Northwest elegant rustic ambiance.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Seattle Restaurant weekThe Seattle Restaurant week menu at the Frog was extraordinary this year. My wife and daughter raved about the salmon on polenta, and I have enjoyed the goat cheese ravioli twice; it is delicious! And we have particularly enjoyed our servers this year. Oh, and the pecan tartlet with vodka cream must be eaten with eyes closed to fully enjoy!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI was there at lunch and itI was there at lunch and it was fabulous, I will go back on a sunny day to sit on their lovely patio with the fountain. Great food, great wine pairing. A real treat.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant week menu wasThe restaurant week menu was excellent. I went on Monday and will be returning on Thursday.
The only negative was the salted caramel chocolate dessert was too heavily salted and the server never smiled or made us feel welcome.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI think the place was great!I think the place was great! not such a romantic place, nothing really special about the ambiance, but good food, good service, would go again if I was in the area, but would not take a special trip just to go there again. My only down side, was when we were seated, the hostess knocked over our guests glass of sparkling wine which spilled all on the table and into her purse, the staff was very prompt to clean it up, but there didn't seem any concern about her items that were soiled.... In addition our server had absolutely no idea this had transpired, therefore we had to as the guest request a replacement drink. I think communication could have been better, and a little concern for her very nice bag which was soiled.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBeyond expectationsI took my wife for dinner on her birthday and they went far and beyond expectations in order to accommodate us. I had flowers delivered to our table and they were there when we arrived. The entire meal was delicious and their wines are just great!
Can't wait to get back and enjoy another great meal since they pay attention to each and little detail I could think of, I really had a great time.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways love eating there:Always love eating there: Nathan, our bartender and server is really great!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMToo Close For ComfortAlthough striking, the small dining area had so many little tables close together that it felt claustrophobic. Otherwise, the food was elegant and the service (Michael) outstanding.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMan extra pleasant surprise....asan extra pleasant surprise....as good as we have had anywhere over the last few years...loved it..4/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
