  • "To say I was disappointed with the food is putting it mildly. The "tapas" were barely enough for 1 person. They charge over $7 for a plate of extremely thin cut cold cuts & call it a tapa. HA! The true outrageous disappointment was the paella. We had the paella Barcelona which included everything (chicken, shrimp, calamari, mussels, peas, red pepper, and chorizo. A true paella has to have saffron ("azafran")... & it didn't. The supposed home-made chorizo "a la European" is a bunch of crock. It spoiled everything & it didn't taste a thing to what it's supposed to. OK place but won't go back. Only real good thing is service. So, I'm still in search of a REAL Spanish restaurant. Oh yeah... ensalada de papas should be patatas.... so burros!!!!"

  • "Barcelona, it just sounds romantic! Unfortunately we weren't too hungry when we went but lucky enough for us their Tapas were just the right size. Their cocktail list was extensive and we tried at least 6 different drinks and loved each one more than the last. We ate indoors with our reservations but the patio looked beautiful, the noise level did start to soar a bit towards the end of our date but all-in-all it was just lovely."

  • "Barcelona never disappoints. The staff are knowledgable and friendly; timely and attentive. The outdoor patio is great all year round and accommodating for a mid sized group or intimate date. I've never had a menu item I didn't like and food is ALWAYS fresh. Their lunch menu is pleantiful and they have several offerings to vegetarians! It's a tasty, quaint, classy, lovely neighborhood gem for sure!"

  • "We've eaten at Barcelona many times and usually love it. For some reason, while everything *else* (e.g. the atmosphere, the service, etc.) was as good as ever, the food was somewhat - lacking. It was a Sunday, and I suspect the sous-chef's were running the show - I ordered the Cerdo, and was very disappointed - the potatoes were actually sorely undercooked, and the romesco as well as the pork shank were somewhat bland and under-seasoned. I was quite surprised, as my previous experiences with similar cuisine at Barcelona (e.g. the tres cerados during Restaurant Week) were stellar. I imagine we'll be back at some point in time, but after those potatoes I'm not in a hurry."

Cured meat was not to the guest liking as an appetizer, however the braized short rib tapa was delicious. The Chocolate Paprika Carmelized Bannana dessert was surprisingly delicious. We are repeat guests and enjoy every meal. It was a bit crowded and noisy for an intimate conversation or anyone who has diminshed hearing. Otherwise a wonderful evening."

  • "Went here for a birthday dinner and ordered a few different tapas and paella- everything was so good! The patio is adorable and a fun spot to be in the summer. Jenna, our server, was great. My mother had just gotten back from two weeks in actual Barcelona, Spain and said the paella was just as good as the real deal!"

  • "Our first visit to Barcelona was for lunch on a Friday were seated on the beautiful patio as requested. Three of our party of four ordered the "menu del dia". Our choices included spanish olives and cheeses marinaded, gazpacho, special deviled eggs, a salad with goat cheese. All were delicious. We also had the pasta and peas, the chicken salad and the scallops with mushrooms. The sides included a very tasty and nicely seasoned mediterranean vegetables as well as fresh fruit. Every food item was perfectly prepared. We would definitely return to Barcelona for lunch or dinner. Quite nice patio ambience. The service was attentive and just right."

  • "We were sad when Marbella, an excellent Spanish Restaurant near us in the Cleveland area closed, so when we saw Barcelona on the Open Table choices for Columbus, we had to try. We were not disappointed. This was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Of course we started with a carafe of Sangria. They have 4 choices. The waiter was very knowledgeable with their menu and helped us to decide what to start with and what would go with the Paella, as my wife and I like to share. As this was built into an old factory, it can be noisy with the sounds bouncing off of the old brick walls."

  • "A little pricey, but the food was well worth it. I had the Tapas Sampler (with octopus substituted for pork belly) and my wife had the scallops. Everything tasted fantastic. We sat inside and found the room picturesque, while most people, on the warm evening, headed outdoors. Both inside and outside areas were unexpectedly large given the modest front of the restaurant along Whittier. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and helpful, with good suggestions. Just one small caution: the Sangria with Cava seemed a bit strong, and we ordered a carafe and out came a full glass each plus the carafe. We are used to less potent sangrias, and that turned out to be a bit more alcohol than we wanted."

  • "Have dined with you before and the experience was over the top! Great drinks,amazing server, and the food was impressive, 'hit the spot' kind of fulfillment. This time was for a special occasion, the server was nice however she recommends the highest priced wine on the list, which is fine, but it wasn't directed towards of specific tastes she just was selling the price. Now the food, the mussels were sitting in canned halved tomato juices with zero flavor- zero-. Ocopus had a nice chared taste and of course a little chewy but that's just it's nature, it was okay not 'grand'. Steak was steak and chocolate cake was chocolate cake. It wasn't the experience we had enjoyed before, it was just disappointing. "

  • "Barcelona has been on our top ten dining bucket list for "date night" since my wife and I moved to Columbus. Turns out it should have been a "top three" venue! Splendid seafood options (uncommon in Ohio), interesting Tempranillo and other Spanish wines ... and, well Tapas style is just such a fun way to dine, isn't it? If you are a foodie then a visit to Barcelona is a must!"

  • "Barcelona is a real favorite of mine. Let me explain why. There is a solid consistency in both food and service. The food! It is lovely.Tonight the scallop ceviche was exquisite, and was beautifully presented. Tonight we had Paella Barcelona (a favorite) and Camarones - sauteed shrimp with Piquillo barbecue sauce. The shrimp flavor came through clearly and was complemented by the sauce. The deserts - ah - you must leave room for those. They always have new items on the desert menu. I almost never get desert when I go out, but I do always get desert at Barcelona. It is just too good to pass up. The service is always right on - not invasive, but attentive. We always leave with a satisfied glow. Thank you Barcelona for a special anniversary."
