The food is always great at Barbuto and the gnocchi is delicious and always prepared a little differently. As we all know, the chicken is a must even if sharing with someone. We loved the bruscetta also.

We loved Barbuto! We appreciated the open and casual atmosphere after a day of walking around the city. The food is simple, yet very flavorful. I never order chicken when eating out, but made an exception (based on the reputation of Jonathan Waxman). The JW Chicken was simply the best chicken I've ever tasted (and my husband, who had a bite, is still talking about it). Moist on the inside, crispy on the outside, and seasoned to perfection. We had the gnocci as an appetizer - all 4 of us loved it. Dessert - have to recommend the salted caramel ice cream. The service was friendly and attentive.

Great Hostess; upon being seated she was the only one who really paid any attention to us although we weren't it a rush but a glass of water would have been nice... Service picked up after a while and we did evenually enjoy a good meal and nice drinks of choice... However!!! We should have been allerted to the fact that they were starting to run out of the Rubarb Dessert that was the special of the day... by the time we ordered it .... non left... sadly, my husband was really looking forward to trying it.... again, waiter slow on the bit.... the dessert we had was good but not really what we wanted... No complaints about the food.... great place to go after walking the High Line!!! cheers from Ottawa, Canada..... robin & ester
