time and time again, it has the
same consistent food, outstanding, accomodating and hospitable service. in charm. Really, anything on the menu is worth a try (and then you'll find your favorites). This is a must.. I have friends who want to come all the time. Priced fairly too. nice wine list. "

This was my 3rd visit. I love the
decor and the food is great. It's cozy and fun!"
Dined on 4/12/2014
This restaurant is nice and cozy
and has an awesome enclosed outdoor space in the rear. It's also in a fabulous location. Love tapas!"

Loved this place! Great
atmosphere! We ate in the heated patio and it was such a pleasure back there! Food was great! Especially the tuna and the fries. Service couldn't have been better! Can't wait to go back!"

$7 happy hour but with limits food
options Regular menu has tasty options great for sharing. Servers are polite but service is a bit slow"
Dined on 4/9/2014
The food was terrible and the wine
list was very minimal. Tried several different glasses but hard to find one that was good. Service was not great although waiters was very nice. Menu and chef need to be updated."

The seating was uncomfortable for
my husband and me. The chairs and tables are so tall that we struggled to feel comfortable to relax to eat. That is a shame because the food was delicious and the service was great. We had the fish tacos, the pulled pork sliders and the cocktail size paella. The wine list is extensive and we were satisfied with the Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio that we ordered. There appears to be garden seating in the back of the long, narrow restaurant with normal size tables and chairs but it was pouring rain when we went so that wouldn't have been an option. Maybe we will check that out if we go back."

First time at Bar Rique. Fantastic
experience. Excellent service. Variety Tapas inspired menu. My friend and I sat in the back room. Ambiance of the back area would be perfect for one's romantic evening, conversation. The front of the bar, sitting area is more vibrant with music overhead. Great experience, good prices. Will be back!"

New restaurant with a friendly
staff and good but different menu. Great for pre-Lincoln Center. Will be back for sure. The burger bites were great and the empandas were delicious."

My husband and I had dinner here
before a performance at the Met. My husband never had tapas before and the last time I had was in Spain. The food is OUTRAGEOUS! The bacon-wrapped dates were divine (we had 2 orders) and the fish tacos so delicious! We had requested our sirloin/kobe beef sliders without cheese but they arrived with. Literally, in a blink of an eye, the correct order was on our table. The sangria was so good - it didn't last long enough! Our waiter Sean was wonderful and all his suggestions were great! He didn't hover; however, he always made sure we were more than happy with our orders and our water was always replenished. We plan on coming back and will request Sean's section in the restaurant!"

what a great find! a cozy romantic
tapas bar with really good food and an impressive wine list! since it was tapas, our table of 4 had a big assortment: excellent lamb chops, garlicky hummus, fried artichokes, a lovely brie and ham crostini, etc. the service is lovely, and the manager is very knowledgable about wine. I can't wait to go again."
Dined on 3/30/2014
Great service- very friendly. It
is an Americanized version of Tapas, byt we enjoyed everything we ordered. Nice enclosed back yard."
Dined on 3/28/2014
The food was good as was the
service, but just don't run into the owner as he is not a kind person at all. Nevertheless I would go back in order to allow the owner to redeem himself. One more thing though, if this restaurant has only been open 10 weeks how can their reviews go back as far as November 2013, hmmmm. That is very interesting. I and many others rely on opentable reviews so just wondering."

A great add to the UWS. You walk
down into the space and its as you would expect - a narrow, soft lit space with some seating and a bar with lots or energy. The patio in back is very mellow and if you get there early enough, bright and cheery. The wine list is a gem. $8-12 gets you a really good glass of wine. $45 gets you a well chosen bottle that you have probably never heard of before. They also have a well curated "library" list. The menu is a nice surprise as well. Its a combination standard "tapas" menu with some thoughtful and well done french and American favorites. Plus, they have several "full plate" dinners that all looked quite great. The service was friendly and professional. They really do go out of their way to please."
Dined on 3/23/2014
The menu is interesting but they
need a few more items. Also they should have some good bread to start the meal, similar to their sister restaurants."

this place is super every time i
go . becoming a regular.. they are SO hospitable. food delish"
Dined on 3/10/2014
bar rique is a lovely spot with
inviting decor, interesting, well cooked and presented tapas and other spanish dishes and a friendly atmosphere. what more could you want? $$$ adds up too quickly, but its worth it paying for such tasty food."
Dined on 3/7/2014
Great small plates with a few full
plates on the menu. Wonderful wine selection, and the sangria was over the top!"
Dined on 3/1/2014
Great place for a romantic evening
with awesome food and excellent service!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
Great atmosphere, food was not
spectacular but some menu items were better than others. Tapas was the way to go, not too extensive of a wine list. Nice server but didn't seem to know the menu too well. Decent spot if you want to stay local but I've been to better in the area."
Dined on 2/14/2014
This place was good regarding the
food and ambiance. Unfortunately, our service was less than stellar. One dish never arrived, then my date asked for more bread. That also never arrived. I would have said something and disputed the bill but I was on a first date so it wasn't worth breaking the vibe for $20. Not sure if I'll go back or not. Maybe..."

I really enjoyed spending
Valentine's Day here! The host was more than willing to accommodate me when I asked to be seated in the couch area. The entire staff was extremely friendly. As I waited for my date at the bar, I made friends with incredible bar tender, Philipe while sipping on a glass of refreshing prosecco. The food was delicious and my date and I had the most wonderly romantic evening! I highly recommend this place!!! Exactly what the upper west side needed. It's very comfortable, very cool and very relaxed!"

Go .. a great neighbor spot with
flavorful food and great atmosphere."
Dined on 2/16/2014
Had dinner with a girlfriend on a
Thursday night - not very crowded given the poor weather. The wine and tapas dishes were great as was the chocolate/peanut butter dessert we shared (yum!) Highly recommend the fried artichokes (light and crispy), short ribs, and lamb meatballs; not sure if I'd order the chicken empanadas again since there were some other things on the menu I'd like to try. Our server was lovely and the owners were hanging about ensuring all the diners were taken care of. I'll definitely be back - right for the price and neighborhood!"
Dined on 2/13/2014
I liked the layout and feel of
this place. The tapas were an eclectic mix of dishes, some with a Brazilian twist. The sangria was delicious as well. Service was very attentive and we'll definitely be back."
Dined on 2/8/2014
Great spot for casual romantic
night out. Attentive servers, broad variety of Tapas choices, and tasty stuff. Our variety platter of empanadas were served less-than-hot, and when we mentioned this, they brought out hot ones and gave an extra portion so that we could taste what we might have missed. Nice touch. We enjoyed ourselves at Bar Rique."
Dined on 2/1/2014
We had 4 plates of tapas, shared
one flan and had 3 glasses of wine for over $100. The size of tapas were quite small. For the price, they could have given a little more food - wouldn't have cost much more. Generally, food was somewhat bland. The flan was very dense - which was a surprise, as they are usually lighter and fluffier. We liked it in an odd way, but weren't sure if it was intentionally made denser. Seating area in the back is nice, but there is no music and lacks ambience. Front area is nicer. We ate here before the ballet, so it was quick and convenient, but I would most likely find another place next time. Good, friendly service, though."

My date and I had a great time. It
was pretty quiet, most likely due to the extremely cold weather outside. The bartender was friendly, the waitstaff attentive and the food was great. We'd definitely come back again."

A much needed addition to the
Lincoln Center restaurant offerings."

comfortable. so delicious. cozy and fun. go !"

Bar Rique has excellent food,
outstanding service, and terrific wine. It's not too noisy or crowded. It's such a pleasure to be there that I went back 2 Saturday nights in a row. Unlike a nearby Tapas restaurant Andanada the service was impeccable and the noise level was good. At Andanada I can't hear myself speak, and the wait staff was curt and late in seating us - even putting another couple before us because they were allegedly "older" than my friend and I (who had made reservations). So, Bar Rique, you won my vote for neighborhood Tapas in a delightful upbeat setting. Fellow foodies, please frequent Bar Rique so we can keep this neighborhood gem in business!"

New Spanish tapas restaurant has
delicious food. The fried artichokes with a yogurt dipping sauce, divine! My fish was delicious, a chicken dish also excellent with nice side dishes. We were guided by the maitre'd to select a nice light bodied red wine which was excellent and not too expensive. We sat in the back dining area which has nice ambiance. Staff are helpful and we enjoyed meeting the owner who was most hospitible, along with the waitstaff and maitre'd. We would definitely return, I'd repeat the artichoke dish and branch out to experience other new goodies on the menu. The burgers look sublime."

loved the ambiance and the
gracious welcome, because of it;s nascent quality the service was a little slow"

We went there in late December and
were pleasantly surprised. The paella was top notch. The tapas were great as well. Will definitely be going back."

I say shooting star about Park
West because though it is a great dining expereince, we got word that it is closing. We were there on Saturday night. The restaurant was packed, but the 8 months open has been too much to support those times when it isn't busy enough. Each time there has been better than the time before. It is sad that the restaurant will not flourish as is star it is. Food and servvice were excellent. Park west was marvelous while it lasted, a fleeting gem."

A warm and friendly staff, an
oasis in a busy area. Try it, you'll like it!"

I needed place to eat with my wife
and 2 kids. I searched Open Table for suggestions. Found this very nice little neighborhood place where we were able to grab brunch. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. I would definitely visit again."
Dined on 11/30/2013
We happened upon this place one
night right after they opened. It is tucked in off of 70th and Columbus - almost easy to walk right by. So glad we didn't. The decor is nice without being over the top or overly dramatic. They people who work there are so friendly and alway welcome you in as if they really know you. Food is off the charts! We have, at this point, tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Make sure to stop in - you won't be sorry!!"

We recently had dinner w/ friends
at Park West and we had no expectations - but it was actually quite delicious and excellent service. We really hope that the neighborhood supports this tiny gem. We had great burgers and short ribs. The mac and cheese appetizer was delicious too."
Dined on 11/21/2013
Very friendly, professional and
attentive service...mediocre food."
