bar rique is a lovely spot with
inviting decor, interesting, well cooked and presented tapas and other spanish dishes and a friendly atmosphere. what more could you want? $$$ adds up too quickly, but its worth it paying for such tasty food."

Great small plates with a few full
plates on the menu. Wonderful wine selection, and the sangria was over the top!"
Dined on 3/1/2014
Great place for a romantic evening
with awesome food and excellent service!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
Great atmosphere, food was not
spectacular but some menu items were better than others. Tapas was the way to go, not too extensive of a wine list. Nice server but didn't seem to know the menu too well. Decent spot if you want to stay local but I've been to better in the area."

This place was good regarding the
food and ambiance. Unfortunately, our service was less than stellar. One dish never arrived, then my date asked for more bread. That also never arrived. I would have said something and disputed the bill but I was on a first date so it wasn't worth breaking the vibe for $20. Not sure if I'll go back or not. Maybe..."

I really enjoyed spending
Valentine's Day here! The host was more than willing to accommodate me when I asked to be seated in the couch area. The entire staff was extremely friendly. As I waited for my date at the bar, I made friends with incredible bar tender, Philipe while sipping on a glass of refreshing prosecco. The food was delicious and my date and I had the most wonderly romantic evening! I highly recommend this place!!! Exactly what the upper west side needed. It's very comfortable, very cool and very relaxed!"

Go .. a great neighbor spot with
flavorful food and great atmosphere."
Dined on 2/16/2014
Had dinner with a girlfriend on a
Thursday night - not very crowded given the poor weather. The wine and tapas dishes were great as was the chocolate/peanut butter dessert we shared (yum!) Highly recommend the fried artichokes (light and crispy), short ribs, and lamb meatballs; not sure if I'd order the chicken empanadas again since there were some other things on the menu I'd like to try. Our server was lovely and the owners were hanging about ensuring all the diners were taken care of. I'll definitely be back - right for the price and neighborhood!"

I liked the layout and feel of
this place. The tapas were an eclectic mix of dishes, some with a Brazilian twist. The sangria was delicious as well. Service was very attentive and we'll definitely be back."
Dined on 2/8/2014
Great spot for casual romantic
night out. Attentive servers, broad variety of Tapas choices, and tasty stuff. Our variety platter of empanadas were served less-than-hot, and when we mentioned this, they brought out hot ones and gave an extra portion so that we could taste what we might have missed. Nice touch. We enjoyed ourselves at Bar Rique."

We had 4 plates of tapas, shared
one flan and had 3 glasses of wine for over $100. The size of tapas were quite small. For the price, they could have given a little more food - wouldn't have cost much more. Generally, food was somewhat bland. The flan was very dense - which was a surprise, as they are usually lighter and fluffier. We liked it in an odd way, but weren't sure if it was intentionally made denser. Seating area in the back is nice, but there is no music and lacks ambience. Front area is nicer. We ate here before the ballet, so it was quick and convenient, but I would most likely find another place next time. Good, friendly service, though."

My date and I had a great time. It
was pretty quiet, most likely due to the extremely cold weather outside. The bartender was friendly, the waitstaff attentive and the food was great. We'd definitely come back again."

A much needed addition to the
Lincoln Center restaurant offerings."

Bar Rique has excellent food,
outstanding service, and terrific wine. It's not too noisy or crowded. It's such a pleasure to be there that I went back 2 Saturday nights in a row. Unlike a nearby Tapas restaurant Andanada the service was impeccable and the noise level was good. At Andanada I can't hear myself speak, and the wait staff was curt and late in seating us - even putting another couple before us because they were allegedly "older" than my friend and I (who had made reservations). So, Bar Rique, you won my vote for neighborhood Tapas in a delightful upbeat setting. Fellow foodies, please frequent Bar Rique so we can keep this neighborhood gem in business!"

New Spanish tapas restaurant has
delicious food. The fried artichokes with a yogurt dipping sauce, divine! My fish was delicious, a chicken dish also excellent with nice side dishes. We were guided by the maitre'd to select a nice light bodied red wine which was excellent and not too expensive. We sat in the back dining area which has nice ambiance. Staff are helpful and we enjoyed meeting the owner who was most hospitible, along with the waitstaff and maitre'd. We would definitely return, I'd repeat the artichoke dish and branch out to experience other new goodies on the menu. The burgers look sublime."

loved the ambiance and the
gracious welcome, because of it;s nascent quality the service was a little slow"

We went there in late December and
were pleasantly surprised. The paella was top notch. The tapas were great as well. Will definitely be going back."

I say shooting star about Park
West because though it is a great dining expereince, we got word that it is closing. We were there on Saturday night. The restaurant was packed, but the 8 months open has been too much to support those times when it isn't busy enough. Each time there has been better than the time before. It is sad that the restaurant will not flourish as is star it is. Food and servvice were excellent. Park west was marvelous while it lasted, a fleeting gem."

A warm and friendly staff, an
oasis in a busy area. Try it, you'll like it!"

I needed place to eat with my wife
and 2 kids. I searched Open Table for suggestions. Found this very nice little neighborhood place where we were able to grab brunch. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. I would definitely visit again."
Dined on 11/30/2013
We happened upon this place one
night right after they opened. It is tucked in off of 70th and Columbus - almost easy to walk right by. So glad we didn't. The decor is nice without being over the top or overly dramatic. They people who work there are so friendly and alway welcome you in as if they really know you. Food is off the charts! We have, at this point, tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Make sure to stop in - you won't be sorry!!"

We recently had dinner w/ friends
at Park West and we had no expectations - but it was actually quite delicious and excellent service. We really hope that the neighborhood supports this tiny gem. We had great burgers and short ribs. The mac and cheese appetizer was delicious too."

Very friendly, professional and
attentive service...mediocre food."

A friendly greeting, choice of
tables inside or on covered patio, good wine list, interesting and well prepared dishes, caring and attentive staff who make sure that everything is right and promptly correct issues to the customer's satisfaction - what more can one want in a neighborhood restaurant?"
Dined on 11/16/2013
Meeting a friend for a "high
quality, but not $$$$" meal and a bottle of wine on the UWS and we totally lucked out with Park West. Very approachable menu, excellent food- presented beautifully and delicious - and the check didn't break the bank despite sharing an excellent bottle of Cabernet. Restaurant was empty but very cozy when we met at 6:45pm and full and bustling by the time we left near 9pm."

I walked by this restaurant so
often without giving it a thought and now I wonder why. It is a neighborhood gem and a wonderful before or after Lincoln Center dining experience. The menu is small, but selective. For those wanting richer dining, I felt the short-ribs with parsnip puree and leeks were amazing. My husband sought a simpler dish and enjoyed the chicken. Our reservations were honored on time and the wait staff were attentive and informative. Looking forward to going again."
Dined on 11/9/2013
Close to Lincoln Center and ideal
for a pre-theater dinner. Cozy space with a charming, enclosed outdoor area. Pork shank Osso Bucco special was delicious - tender meat fell off the bone and melted in our mouths."
Dined on 11/3/2013
I went with a friend and I thought
it would be a great place to go with a future date. The food was quite good and I am excited to report paleo-friendly. Lots of free range meats and organic vegetables and most items on the menu were free of grains and soy. My friend ordered Shepherd's Pie and they used butternut squash instead of potatoes. I had short ribs with the most delicious whipped parsnips. I'm pretty hard on restaurants for food quality. I didn't give it a 5-star food rating because I didn't taste any new flavors or textures. If cooking is not your hobby, you will probably find it quite innovative, though. Still, it was a great experience, I loved the service, and I will undoubtedly go again."

Food ok. Stay away from back room.
Cold and dark. Overall the place seems to have done nothing but use the old furniture from the previous user. They try but it's amateur night."
Dined on 10/25/2013
Our salmon entrees were delicious
and the service was very attentive. We definitely will go back. Nice addition to the neighborhood!"
Dined on 10/21/2013
food consistently good. hope they
get a lot more veggy plates for us upper west siders.. but all on menu fab."
Dined on 10/4/2013
The burger is excellent with a
soft pretzel bun. Also enjoyed the mac 'n cheese. Service is very attentive."
Dined on 10/5/2013
This was a reapet visit to Park
West, always enjoyable. The inner room was more brightly lit which was a treat because it is a stunning cozy environment for dinner, the outter court is delightful too. Dinner was wonderful, creative. I ordered the fish special which was a marvelous grilled and crisply prepared whole fresh fish with interesting sauces. My friend had steak which was well seasoned with super accompanying vegtables. The portion was generous. First course with lamb meat balls, wonderfully prepared and scallop dish, also amazing."

I love this little neighborhood
gem of a place. The food is great for little dishes or dinners. Monday nite meatloaf with potatoe puree is off the charts. Great wine. I like this place better than most wine bars I've been to because the food is so good. Plenty of interesting dishes besides comforting meat loaf. Great salads too. And the goat cheese cake is wonderful."

great neighborhood gem ! wait
staff is so friendly"
Dined on 9/29/2013
Everything we had on the menu was
excellent and given we had a large group we tried a bit of everything. The cocktail list was fun and they had a good wine selection. Our server was attentive and if I had to be critical the only thing I would say was it was very quiet. We were in the front room and it felt like we were the only people in the restaurant. That said, I would absolutely go back."
Dined on 9/15/2013
The restaurant staff may not have
been ready for the volume that occurred on the day of a central park run as service was pretty poor... I don't mind personally but some people may"
Dined on 9/8/2013
My experience at the restaurant
was more than fair. I was there for brunch and am curious to see what they do for dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was good. I will definitely visit Park West again."
Dined on 9/8/2013
Couldn't quite find a theme to the
menu. Pork Chop was deliciously seasoned but was tough. 21 day aged burger on a pretzel bun was 5-6 inches high making for a messy dinner. Fish tacos sounded great but lacked flavor in any direction. Nice enclosed backyard dining. Helpful waitstaff."
