Yelpers always rave about the shrimp and grits and rightfully so, but for me the dessert was the real star. Visited on a recent Sunday night. Surprisingly good jazz combo serenaded diners and incoming hotel guests. Staff was on point. Sensational food. Bottles of wine heavily discounted. Good, varied selection. Atmosphere convivial. We had tickets at the Nokia theatre and had dinner before the show. Perfect walking distance. I would recommend the shrimp and grits - pretty heavy and a little on the salty side but delicious. Don't want to order this on a first date - you might want to fall asleep afterwards, especially if you overdo it on their great specialty cocktails. My husband had the lamb neck which he enjoyed and said he would order again. It wasn't as heavy so he was able to finish off my shrimp dish. My friend had the market fish and while it was good, it paled in comparison to the great flavors and dramatic nature of the other dishes. The food was great too, perhaps a little bit on the pricey side, but nothing we weren't prepared for. The real highlights are the bar menu and the wine list. The cocktails are reasonably priced and very creative.
