Diner Reviews
  • "I made reservations for 8 people at 9:30. We showed up aroud 9:15 and said we were fine to wait at the bar for a drink. That one drink turned in to several as we didn't get seated until after 11... They were very busy, but if they can't accommodate a large group on a Saturday night then they shouldn't have allowed us to make a reservation. Food was pretty good, but not worth the wait. We had family from out of town and wanted to show them a great local Cleveland spot, but they we all very frustrated."

  • "We dined here on Saturday with some friends and the food was a bit disappointing for the price. I got the $11 veggie burger and it was nothing more than a store bought Boca burger. For that price I think it should have been hand made. Will return to drink but not eat."

  • "Couldn't believe how lively things were. The service was so good. Our server was interested in making our first visit an enjoyable one. A great group. Everyone seemed at home, and to be having fun! Will return."

  • "Bar Cento has a great selection of beer (2-3 Belgian IPA's) and most at our table ordered pizza. The involtini chicken is still the best entree."

  • "Great restaraunt! Great pizza. I would recommend it to anyone!"

  • "Firstly there is nothing bad about Bar Cento, but there is nothing special about it either. I could of spent less money at home cooking the same dishes and made them have something called flavor. Also, the fact that we were seated in the back by the bathrooms/kitchen when there were a ton of open seats available was ridiculous. Also the fact that our waitress took away our french fries and other appetizer without asking if we were done, which we weren't was rude. She also just gave us our checks instead of offering dessert, which we did want to try. Over all its a waste of time. Nothing bad about the food but its nothing to pay money for."

  • "We had not tried this spot yet but wanted too. We were not disappointed. Food was terrific and the service was A+. We wlbe back soon"

  • "Our meal was okay, but not as good as previous visits. The service was slow and spotty. The food did not all come out at the same time and one side dish we needed to ask for multiple times. I thought the prices were a little high for the food. The beer selection is very good, so if you are going for beer, I would recommend. We may not return since there are many better restaurant in the Ohio City area."

  • "Our group of 7 was seated in the curtain booth to the right of the hostess station. We were freezing. Every time the door opened a gush of wind was directed at our table. Worse, an employee parked his car at the front door and made a delivery of boxes one at a time, leaving the door ajar for probably 15 - 20 minutes. It was most uncomfortable and the first time ever that I did not enjoy myself at Bar Cento. If a curtain could have been drawn parallel to W.25th street, the booth would have been protected from the wind. I LOVE your restaurant and will come again. thanks for listening! Mary Ann"

  • "Great place, good food, decent wine selection for beer oriented spot. Disappointed in the first table we were given as it was directly across the aisle from kitchen. Foot traffic is extremely high in that area on a Sat night so they should re-think having tables in that area. I requested a move to a different table and that was accomodated."

  • "I visited BarCento at midnight in search for a food fix. To my surprise I found this restaurant with an acceptable wine list and a delicious cheese board appetizer! The knowledge of the server was beyond exceptional. We had the cheese board with a marinara pepperoni pizza. After having searched for a good cheesy pizza we had finally found it. The home made taste was amazing! Definitely will be returning to try the other pizza and menu options."

  • "My husband and I are pretty choosy when picking a spot for date night since we only get so many evenings away from the kids and this place was perfect. The service was top notch, our server even knew what farm our mushroom pizza came from. I enjoyed the bubbly wine flight with 3 delicious sparkling wines, including a Shiraz. The steak melts in your mouth and the mushroom pizza may have got me back on the mushroom train."

  • "We where there to celebrate our daughters birthday(17 with her older brothers. Pizza was awesome! It was quite loud where we where sitting bit possibly a different table would have served us better. Definetly a place to go back to."

  • "Had a rustic booth in the restaurant area during the early evening hours on a Saturday. Started quiet and then the place was hopping by 7 PM, in a good way. Servers knowledgeable about menu and how the food is made/cured in-house. Started with a cheeseboard with interesting and delicious cheese, flatbreads, pickled items, whole grain mustard, and a fresh apple jelly. Shared three different crispy flatbread pizzas: beet with arugula, parmesan and lemon; margherita; and wild mushroom. All pizzas made with fresh ingredients, memorable and delicious. The beet pizza in particular was very creative and well-done. Shared a hazelnut mousse for dessert -- yummy. Oregon pinot noir very good. Great food and experience -- we will be back!"

  • "Our waiter was in very bad mood, seemed impatient and a bit aggressive. Surprising, given that the place was almost empty. It is also annoying that their policy is to charge a 20% tip for large parties. I'm more used to a 15 to 18% tip, so more can be added for good service. The service we got was barely worth 15%. The food was not great too. Their big board is good, but my hamburger had an oil aftertaste. It tasted like it was deep fried in used oil."

  • "Party of six, we had a reservation so there was no wait when we arrived. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Several folks at the table have food restrictions, and were informed of the options (plenty of options were available!). Party guests ordered variety, from small plates, to dinners. Personally, I enjoyed Branzino. Great dish! We ate, and laughed, and stayed good two hours after we were done with dinner. No one rushed us, allowing the party to go on with occasional questions on whether we wanted something else. We even had two unexpected guests join in later and order more food, after the table already cashed out. Service was just as friendly. Thank you for a great night."

  • "My wife and I have eaten in 10-15 Ohio City restaurants, and this one absolutely blew the others away. The food doesn't sound incredible, but everything was superb. We're planning to make a trip back there as soon as possible. The beet gnocchi was amazing, and it's the first time I've ever experienced pasta that actually had depth and character -- and layers of amazing flavor. Portions are on the smaller side, and the food is incredible!"

  • "I'm a stickler for food, thus the three stars. It's good eats, but the menu is relatively safe, slightly carb heavy-- although not out of the ordinary-- and just not anything to write home about. I would, however, definitely dine here again. The food IS good, the atmosphere is laid back trendy, and the service nearly excellent. Certainly one of the best all-around destinations in their niche."

  • "We had a lot of fun at Bar Cento. Our server was informative, friendly, and attentive. He recommended the charcuterie board, and it was superb, possibly the best we've ever had. He made an excellent beer recommendation as well. We were seated right next to the kitchen, which affected noise and ambience, but this actually worked out fine for a casual night out. Companion and I each ordered a pizza, and both were fantastic: thin, crispy crust and creative, delicious toppings. Dessert was also extremely well conceived and executed. I would say the food met the quality of much fancier places in town. We will go back."

  • "Dinner was great! Also the wine flight for the evening was awesome. I love wine- and was pleased with each of the selections. Our server Stephen was amazing! My only complaint is the table we were seated at was in the very back by the kitchen and there wasn't as much energy and ambiance in the back of the restaurant. The seating was the only thing I would change about my dining experience."

  • "BIG FUN at Bar Cento! My only regret was not ordering "The Big Board" for the table. Excellent food -- and lots of choices which is a plus when you are dining with several friends. Will definitely be back upon a return visit to Cleveland."

  • "Food was excellent. If youre going in a group don't assume the 20 apetizer is lwrge enough. The big board is ibdeed a big board-with barely anything on it. I suggest fries as apetizers instead. Food came out quickly-veryone was nice."

  • "while the food was delicious and the service ok, the ambiance was lacking for a date night. our table was in the middle of the room and we kept getting bumped into by the people milling around by the bar. it was so loud we couldn't have a conversation! didn't expect that for a 6pm reservation, but by 7:30 when we left, we couldn't hear each other!"

  • "We had originally planned to go elsewhere, but no reservations could be had. Didn't know how lucky we would be! Tried several different pizzas - each was very good. One desert was ordered...the only low spot of the evening. We ordered it to share - hardly enough for one:-( Our server was fabulous - made good recommendations, was there when we needed him and was in obtrusive! I'll definitely be back and recommend to friends!"

  • "Where food is usually quite tasty, this evening fries tired; veggie bun leaning to stale; timing of food arrival off by several beats."
    Dined on 11/30/2013
  • "Small fries size is enough fries for two people. Fries are very tasty and the 4 sauces they provide are also very good. Fries alone are worth going to this place. Our Sunnyside pizza tasted like they spilled pepper all over it. All the beer in the bar couldn't get rid of the pepper taste. Trust is, we tried! Still recommend though. If you get the Sunnyside pizza, ask for no pepper."

  • "Very vibrant bar scene. Load and service was a bit slow, but the food was excellent and the wines and beer available were great. It is a "happening" place and great for the Ohio City area. Would have preferred a little faster service."
