Bar BouludGreat food. Good service. We went after a performance at Julliard very convienent. Good price fixed meal. Be wary of the special wine of the night $29.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRelaxed DiningLoved the menu revamp and didn't know what to try first. We opted for the duck for two since it was only offered this day.
Flavors were distinct and not muddled since it was served in one dish and way too much much for two! Unpretentious atmosphere and wonderful service.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMJust right! We've had a nice evening at the Bar Boulud. The sommelier knew exactly what he was doing. Same to the kitchen and the service.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDo the Price Fixe brunch! At $32, this is a deal! The food is to-die-for, and the portions are generous. The sundae for dessert was a highlight - meyer lemon and pistachio ice cream with crumbled macaroon.... UNBELIEVABLE!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner after Lincoln CenterA friend and I came here for dinner after a NYCB performance at Koch. The food was great - I had the Prix Fixe with the soup and pasta option. Highly recommend it as a pre or post dinner theater option.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBar boulud is a wonderfulBar boulud is a wonderful restaurant. We had requested a quiet table because of hearing issues of one of our diners, and we were given a quiet booth in the back that allowed us to converse with our out of town guests. The food and service were terrific. Our waiter brought over a wine to taste and provided excellent service throughout our meal, including bringing us a pepper grinder which wasnt part of the set up but which we had use of for the entire meal rather than having to ask and wait. our dinners were aesthetically pleasing as well as delicious.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMwarm and invitingWhat a great spot on the UWS. The staff was great. The food was spot on...though the salad I had was actually too large (salad lyonaisse). the sommelier was super helpful and helped us choose some nice wines to complement our food. And they actually prepped a nice little extra on the dessert tray, which they gave us for free just from the comments I wrote in the reservation notes section (I wrote it was our Anniversary). It was a small touch, but made the night that much nicer. Thanks to Daniel B.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd time at Bar Baloudtwo times and two times great service! the brunch prix fixe is very reasonably priced for the venue, atmosphere, and (did i mention this?) the service! if you sit outside or by the window, you can people watch broadway and lincoln center. thumbs up!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIn my top ten go to places!Located across from Lincoln Center, this place is great for any occasion! I have never gone wrong with an order, and the portions are generous for the $. I look forward to my next visit.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA little dear but the foodA little dear but the food was worth it. Convenient to Lincoln Center. Would visit again.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEat Family StyleBar Boulud is a not to miss spot if you're headed to the Upper West Side, especially Lincoln Center. Make sure to start with the Charcuterie platter, ask your server for great paring, but maybe a nice Spanish red.
Nothing disappointed, including the creative desserts. Favorites: Raspberry Island (will burst in your mouth), and Elixir, if you prefer a creamy sensation.
Perhaps peruse the wine list online before visiting?
I wish I could add photo's to the review, because presentation was outstanding.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMgood meal; desserts outstanding4 diners: 2 ordered from prix fixe menu, 2 ala carte; everyone had different dishes and everyone was very pleased. Desserts were works of art as well as delicious. Would highly recommend.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMpleasedgrabbed a quick bite before a concert. Proximity to Lincoln Center a bonus. Good wine.
great service. charming gem .4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTop notch al the way...justTop notch al the way...just the right size, great service and appealing ambiance.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe wine steward was veryThe wine steward was very instrumental in recommending a great bottle of wine which made our evening perfect.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a special tasting menuWe had a special tasting menu featuring a single malt whiskey that was specially created for the Boulud restaurants. It was the best meal we had ever eaten at Bar Boulud. One of our previous criticisms was that the portions were usually very small and the prices high but in this case the reverse was true.
The service was very good as well. Our bad luck was that we were seated to a very noisy and energetic group of 5people, including a child. They realized they were being annoying and actually sent over a small plate to apologize for their wild behavior, but they didn't change it!
We hope Bar Boulud will offer these special and affordable tastings more often.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice brunch. TerrificVery nice brunch. Terrific staff. Unfortunately, I did not request a booth so was put near busy stairway. But, after some
persuasion, they moved us to a booth. Next time, I will request booth.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a good spot to meetThis is a good spot to meet up for a quiet brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The food is good and they have a very nice sparkling wine by the glass. I don't feel like I got enough of a sampling of the menu to really form a strong opinion yet, but I'm planning to return to check it out again.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMSaturday lunchHad lunch on a Saturday with my mother and a friend. We arrived a bit late and they were very accommodating. The food and service were very good. Very enjoyable experience.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBar Baloud rocks!Great spot across from Lincoln Center and near Central Park & Columbus Circle. Healthy and delicious dining! Yummy wine tagged with superb food and memorable ambiance...what a "feel good" evening!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch TreatPresentation seems endlessly inventive. Great cocktails. Enjoyed a leisurely mid-day lunch.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely, lovely, lovely!Food was fantastic and the wine list is unparalled. Don't let them bully you into the wine of the day, though. Thry the flights and tastings for 2 oz each, and you'll get an education. The only thing that wasn't superb were the desserts, which were just okay (although to be fair the creamy coconut sorbet stood out). And at $29 for the lunch menu, you *cannot* beat it.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat and unique tastes in foodBetter then expected. Excellent food and unusual wine list. Expensive but one does not feel overpriced.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a party of six andWe were a party of six and the evening was fantastic. The food, the service and the ambience were commendable. Even though our party wasn't complete when checking in they sat us at our table to have drinks while we waited for the last two guests.
High marks to this venue for making us feel right at home and allowing us to dine for almost 3 hours. The only other place I've experienced that un-rushed feeling has been Paris so thanks to Bar Baloud for that.
Native New Yorker4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food great servicegreat food great service BUT open table says $$ and this is very misleading No wine by the glass less than $12 and no entree less than 25! this should be at least a $$$ restaurant!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Bar Boulud forWe went to Bar Boulud for dinner just before the opera; just across Broadway from Lincoln Center. The food and service were excellent and justified the splurge dining event for this trip to NYC.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOn an oddly quiet Monday evening,On an oddly quiet Monday evening, our table for four was greeted and served with a very polite and friendly staff. The food was as usual, excellent. And the wine, initially by the glass, and recommended by our server, was just right. Because the evening was quiet, we were able to linger and enjoy our guests. Wouldn't it be great to be able to anticipate all quiet evenings so friends could share a great meal without having to shout?4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe know how lucky we are!Bar Boulud is two blocks from our apartment...
We are so very lucky to have three DB's so very close...
You have to try them to understand!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMQuality food and excellence serviceSince moving to New York some seven months ago, I have been disappointed with the consistency and quality of the food and service within the restaurants I have chosen to eat in. Bar Boulud is an exception, the quality of its food coupled with the well trained freindly staff and competitive pricing make for an excellent dining experience.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMour umpteenth time here beforeour umpteenth time here before a LincCtr event, and can only say it was consistently good
it's why we keep coming back3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, service andExcellent food, service and quiet.Perfect to have a real conversation.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food and lovelyDelicious food and lovely service. Important to make a reservation (even for lunch) as it gets crowded. The booths are more comfortable and more spacious -- better to request one. Food is very expensive and the portions are minuscule. Great for Lincoln Center pre or post theater.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect pre-theater choice.Perfect pre-theater choice. Easily on par with Daniel as far as food quality, but in a fun, casual, energetic environment.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMUnforgettable! Perfect dinner!Amazing experience! Great ambiance, great service and unforgettable food!! Selection of cheese for entrance was very good and the bread delicious. The sommelier was very kind and helpful and got us a great wine! The main course was a duck that was divine!!! And to finish the experience, we asked for a selection of sorbet. Amazing!! I have to go there every time I travel to NY now!! !3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA Cut AboveWe were celebrating an occasion and it felt special. Service was excellent and food a cut above and nicely prepared. Would recommend this restaurant to a friend.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMlovely folks that work here-lovely folks that work here- nicest I've run into in a long time3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find before operaIf you are going to Lincoln center, the perfect foodie place to grab dinner before the opera or ballet. Delicious food but service can be a bit arrogant, however they are efficient and will get you out the door on time. Food is imaginative and exceelnt, big portions so appetizer looks more like main dish, however I am french!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm a foodie and not an easyI'm a foodie and not an easy one ,but this was a Great Place!!! we had the pre-fix and a croque-monsier for lunch and it was awesome. The pate( one of the best that I have try) as an appetizer and the dessert ,was enough for 2 person. I will go every time that I'm in NY.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent food and placeLoved it! Went with my wife for her birthday. Really nice place to have a romantic dinner with very little noise in the background.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dining experienceWonderful dining experience and so convenient to Lincoln Center! Everything here is beautifully done.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful place and a greatA wonderful place and a great location. My own complaint was that on the menu was a near tasteless chicken breast on white beans. Very little flavor. I had been to the restaurant before and I asked for Coq au Vin, which wasn't on the menu. They had it and it was excellent. Now why would they have the tasteless chicken breast and not even put the coq au vin on the menu. I also don't understand because obviously coq au vin isn't something you whip up in the kitchen. So get rid of the chicken on white beans and bring back the coq au vin. The dinner prix fixe is a nice option as well as the fact that you can make it to the opera house in about 5 minutes walking.2/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed Restaurant Week lunch.Enjoyed Restaurant Week lunch. Would have liked to have had an additional option or two on the list of R.W. starters and entrees, but we liked what we had and the portions were fine. Desserts were terrific. Communal seating table we had was fine and service was pleasant and efficient.1/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous charcuterie, andFabulous charcuterie, and just across Broadway from Lincoln Center. My only gripe is that the pours of wine by the glass are disappointingly small -- and therefore very expensive!1/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAll three of us had the mostAll three of us had the most marvelous specials--a lobster bisque and a homemade fettucine with three ounces of black truffle (and much yummy butter). This is such a terrific restaurant so close to Lincoln Center. It's probably one of my two or three favorite restaurants in the vast city of New York.1/4/2013 12:00:00 AMcan't say how many times wecan't say how many times we have been here over the years - we're LincCtr concert-goers,
so many, many times
