If you are looking for a nice place, priced right - this is the place. Went here before seeing a show at Smith Center - so very easy to get to and from there. Read some other reviews, and it ranked up there. Again, great locals place.

We needed a place to eat downtown before a show at the Smith Center and this place was great, it's in the Art's Factory building on Charleston Blvd. Places like this really breakout of the Vegas stereotypes. Vegas is getting more eclectic and offers more than just the polished strip experience and this place proves it.

Bar & Bistro was one of our favorite restaurants to go to. However they have had a change in ownership and therefore management/culinary staff and the quality of the restaurant has not been maintained. Disappointing and sadly we probably will not return.

As a local Las Vegan, the Arts District was not a place I thought to go for dinner but a recent opportunity to hit The Smith had me thinking otherwise. What a gem I found in Bar+Bistro! Great food (the fish tacos=yummy), great atmosphere (tables shaped like artists palettes) and 5 minutes to The Smith. What more could I have asked for?

The food was actually very good, but I was disturbed that the Chopped Latin Chicken Salad was brought to the table without the signature fried plantains. The waiter didn't tell us in advance that they were out of plantains. The substitute? One slice of toasted baguette for each of us who had ordered the salad.

Referred from magazines as one of the top places for brunch in town our visit was a complete disappointment. Lousy service (almost all meals came in differently than ordered, extremely long waiting time), lousy ambiente (plastic and paper cups(!) for coffee and juice), shaking tables, no real shading on the patio, simple menu card with just minimum information (no photos, no ingredient description). All this is just such a shame since the location is actually great and one could do a lot with a place like this. But unfortunately: No concept, no quality - typical Las Vegas disaster.

What an absolutely miserable experience this dinner was. Unfortunately, the mismanagement evidenced in the Restaurant Stakeout episode of 2012 has not yet been addressed (wish I knew about that episode BEFORE going to this restaurant). Positive First: the food is pretty good with a reasonably good selection of vegan items. NEGATIVE: Service was abysmal. Tapas should come quickly and often to the table. Our first item arrived at our table ONE HOUR after ordering and the restaurant was nearly empty except for one large table outside. Drinks took forever (if they came at all), too and waitress almost never showed herself at our table. Had to ask for silverware, ask twice before water was refilled, blah blah blah. Stay away!!!

We went to this restaurant on Valentine's day, I had made a reservation two weeks in advance. We were sat in the table section of the restaurant not the booth. Our service was average, my husband's drink didn't arrive until after we got our appetizers. We had to settle for a bottle of wine we didn't really like (they were out of our first two options). They were also out of crabcakes. The paella was delicious and so was the calamari. I was expecting a lot more from the bar selection and service. Overall and Average experience from Bar+Bistro, not sure if we would ever go back.

Finding vegan eats that aren't Asian or Mexican in Vegas can be a challenge, especially if you don't want to trek through Wynn for dinner. Though it is pricey ($72.00 for three tapas, fries, and one cocktail and tip) I feel like it would be worth it for a date night out. Also good for vegan-nonvegan dinner dates, because the menu has plenty of options for both. Order the stuffed piquillo peppers.

We decided that since we have both been to Vegas SO MANY times, we were looking for someplace to try...off the strip and not downtown, so we could get a different feeling for Vegas. This place was Great! We were on a busy Street...and ate outside, but it never seemed to interfere with our conversations... they also turned on a patio heater for us. We had crab meat stuffed Piquillio(sp?) peppers first. then meat and wild mushroom pizza with the most wonderful thin crispy crust, and last Paella! All was very good! (Paella tased a little fish strong at first...but we only noticed it the first few bites) We even had a bottle of Malbec! It was great! Very cool place in side too! Enjoyed it! :)

Bar + Bistro is located in the Arts District and was designed in a very casual and eclectic style. The booths were nice and "date friendly." The entre's were $20 plus, but there was a very large & diverse selection of tapas, so a couple could have a very nice date and not have to spend over $100 (with drinks). Our server was great and very helpful!!! We went with tapas and the Mac and Cheese was to die for!!! After "closing down" the restaurant we walked into the adjacent bar! Cool hip vibe and VERY nice staff and people! A Las Vegas Downtwon Gem! GREAT date night location!! We will be back!

We were looking for a restaurant in the Las Vegas Downtown Arts District and found through the Open Table Bar & Bistro. I made the reservations and found it easily with ample parking available. The ambiance fits in with the neighborhood. Our table was an oversized Artist's Palate. The food was Tapas style, little bites with lots of flavor. I am Vegetarian and my friend was Gluten Free. The menu was filled with lots of choices for both of us. The server was very knowledgable about their food and made great recommendations based on our needs. The food was hot and delicious. The service was very attentive and price for 4 items and drinks was under $50.00. We will be going again soon.

Vegan dinners (which have no soy or gluten protein) are over-priced, especially considering the high-end gourmet entrees (with protein) available at the Wynn at about the same price. Vegan burger sliders were too spicy (no warning about that on menu), vegan caprese was excellent with a nice combination of flavors, lentil soup was tasty, and the wild mushroom pizza was very good, but the hot chocolate ganache cake disappointed. Waited almost 20 minutes for it and it was nothing special. It was a little dry and tasted like it had Hershey's syrup poured on it. Service was excellent and generous glasses of wine. Overall good, but hoped for better vegan/veg dining experience.

I went to Bar and Bistro for a date and I couldn't be happier! My vegan date, who is never satisfied with restaurant vegan food, absolutely adored the stuffed peppers and vegan pizza. There was a fine selection of signature cocktails as well, especially the French 75. It was the perfect cocktail to accompany my meal and satisfy my date. We went during First Friday so I expected lines or rowdiness, but we were seated promptly in a quiet nook of the restaurant. The waitress was quick to bring the drinks, courses, and suggested the perfect vegan chocolate cake. Our meal was brought in stages so we weren't overwhelmed at any point in our dining experience. Absolutely fabulous!

The menu format change is for the worse in terms of usability. The tiny print is difficult for people in the far-sighted age group. I much preferred the previous book-style menu. I was told items were repeated in the old menu, plus some dishes have been discontinued due to wasted inventory of perishables. Otherwise I still like going to Bar + Bistro before attending a performance at the Smith Center due to its proximity and convenience, plus the food is quite good.

I ate here in July 13' & had amazing service/ food & the bar had great entertainment. I excitedly made reservations for 15 for my bday. The menu is now 1 page front & back & the drink menu was reduced to less than 6 drinks. The wait took over 30 minutes for drinks & some of my friends walked to the bar themselves to ask for drinks. They ran out of cups for alcohol so they used plastic, we were told there was only 1 vega chocolate cake when we ordered 2. My friend ordered a pizza & it didnt come until dessert came. It took 2 hours to dine. Overall we were really disappointed with quality of service, how long it took to eat/drink & the reduction in the menu options. I might go back on a diff day, but wouldnt plan another event around it.

I went looking to enjoy the vegan menu but was sad to find out that the menu is very limited during Saturday and Sunday. Only 2 vegan items on the menu. But the food was delicious. I did order the vegan chocolate cake and it is superb! It would've been nice to eat outside because the weather was nice and they had a band playing. But it was full so we ate inside. We sat just inside the door and yet couldn't hear the band at all. Inside was very dim and quiet. Some people like that. Overall, the staff was friendly, the place was clean and the food was de-lish.

The food has always been interesting. Service friendly. quirky surroundings with outdoor beer/wine garden with frequent live entertainment. If you require a polished environment this is not for you. If you appreciate interesting food in a bohemian. ecclective environemnt this is the best of LV.
    Special Features:
fit for foodies, good for groups, vibrant bar scene, great for outdoor dining, late-night find, neighborhood gem, hot spot
