"Brief menu, but many good choices. Knowledgeable, engaging wait staff. Great seating for groups (4+). We had good table for 2 (against wall), but other 2 tables are not very private/protected. Wood oven asparagus dish was excellent; lamb portion (lamb as opposed to lamb sausage) could have been larger. Ti punch a winner."

"What a difference a year makes. Last year the food was so good I couldn't wait to go back. This year it was so mediocre only our salad was notable. One entree was returned."

"Bar Agricole is now in our top five list! Excellent food and nice ambience (modern yet warm, which is rare). Our only comment is that the per glass wine selections aren't as good as the full bottles and the pours are a bit stingy but next time we'll just get a bottle. Already booked our next reservation with two other friends."

"Bar Agricole was definitely a great experience for those that appreciate the art of food and drinks. The food was good, but rather rich and a bit heavy. It would great if you have a party of 3-4 to split everything with to get a taste of everything. For a party of 2, we ordered the charcuterie plate, fried artichoke (delish!), grilled octopus and spaghetti with dungeness crab. The standout experience here though are the drinks. Their bartenders are artfully skilled - best analogy they're like chefs in their trade! The precision and finesse in which they make their drinks is just a pleasure to watch. Order The Presidente. It's not on the menu, but an amazing specialty among others there."

"I've been to Bar Agricole twice now. The first time I was impressed with the food, but not overly impressed with service. On my second visit, I was very pleased with the overall service, which was very attentive and pleasant. Perhaps it was due to an early reservation and the restaurant not being full. The food was outstanding and it was nice to see the menu change with the season. The chicken liver toast was amazing! I had to refrain from getting a second order. I definitely plan to return and look forward to eating on the patio this summer!"

"The drinks are what bring one in; exceptionally well made by a fabulous mixologist. The cuisine is seasonal and fresh with interesting combinations. A very light menu without frills but fine fine quality."

"The food was excellent and the service was spot-on. There was a slight snafu with our order, and the waitstaff couldn't have been more attentive. We were surprised and pleased at how seriously they took it. And the food was absolutely amazing. We especially enjoyed the liver on toast appetizer and the duck leg entre. The wine list, however, is very expensive - there was very little under $70/bottle. It would be great to see some more affordable options."

"An outstanding evening from start to finish, from herbal and aromatic cocktails to the creamy panna cotta dessert - and everything in between. The building itself is an architectural delight; even on a cool evening the patio was warm and inviting -- the bar inside was fairly lively and friendly. The meal order was handled perfectly by a knowledgeable but low-key, non-hovering server. Lovely, small oysters and crispy fried anchovies to start, followed by asparagus and arugula salads then the strattiatella with ramps and pea tendrils. Everything was exceptional. Would love to see these owners bring their talents to Sacramento and beyond."
